  1. I think their ability to rotate guys like Wynn in there without seeing a big drop off in play has been a key in the unit's performance this season. Keeping those guys fresh is a huge advantage. Add in the fact that Bradham has really stepped up this season and Preston Brown has been a surprisingly good 3 down LBer who has played EVERY defensive snap, and with Kiko back the depth at LB becomes solid too. Regardless of what happens this season, keep this defensive unit together and we'll make the playoffs no matter what next season.
  2. If we keep our front 4 and Brandon Spikes I think we'll have the best front 7 in the league next season when Kiko comes back. Not only that, but we have HIGH quality backups along that front. It really is going to be special next season.
  3. The big point is that you can win consistently with an average offense and that good of a defense, and an average offense is a lot more attainable for us than landing the next Andrew Luck imo. A few tweaks to the offense should get us there. Hell, all they'd have to do is improve redzone offense imo. Then we're in the playoffs.
  4. I think he will too. Even with the big contracts these guys are going to get we should have the cap space. And like you said without a star QB to pay, we should be able to squeeze them all in.
  5. I really hope Pegula spends the dough to keep all these guys together.
  6. I'm trying really hard to get over it. Thank god there's a game tomorrow. I'll be over it if: 1. We embarrass the Dolphins on national primetime 2. A few key teams in the WC race lose on Sunday.
  7. Passing yards per game - 7th Rushing yards per game - 8th Sacks - 1st Interceptions - 3rd Opposing QB rating - 4th Points per game - 7th 3rd down defense - 4th I'd say that's a pretty well-rounded playoff caliber defense. Shwartz has done a damn fine job. A defense like that can take a team to the playoffs with even an average offense.
  8. And when we DO crush them, they'll say Miami wasn't as good as first thought rather than saying the Bills are better than first thought. Same story different season. No respect.
  9. How can anyone say the Bills losing to the Pats proves it's the same old Bills? Lots of good teams lose to the Pats. Look at the Broncos.
  10. Weren't we supposed to be scouring the ends of the earth to find upgrades to this roster? You people thinking it's a bad idea to sign a 2-years-removed Pro Bowl guard are crazy. You do realize we have the worst guards in the entire league right?
  11. No. The Bills are good. If your expectations were that they'd be GREAT this year, then yes your expectations were too high.
  12. True. Pears or Richardson is probably better than a Pro Bowl guard anyhoo. Oh well.
  13. I thought Leodis played great except for the fumble. He's actually been playing pretty well for most of the season.
  14. Exactly. I'm fine with them throwing it, but if you know you're in 4 down territory the smart thing to do is run once or twice to at least get yourself into a manageable 3rd and 4th. It drove me nuts. I know they tried to run on 1st when they were on the 4 but I still think they should have given it to Summers for at least one more run before trying to pass it. Our RBs were getting to the second level all day.
  15. And then when we were on the 4 with a first down available on the 2 YARD LINE we pass it twice and have to kick a fieldgoal? Ridiculous. You're trying to tell me you don't think Frank Summers could have smashed through those 2 yards with 2 chances?
  16. When did I say I wanted Hackett's head? Do you know why we passed for 259 yards and only ran for 100? We had less than half the rushing attempts than we did passing attempts and were averaging 5 yards per carry on those attempts. Yes he was wrong. A smart coach would have ran for some yards towards the first down marker and would have either gotten a first or created a 4th and short situation for themselves. Who the hell gets themselves into 3rd and 10 and then 4th and 10 situations with the game on the line when you're rushing for 5 yards per carry with a first down available right in front of the endzone?
  17. Why is it that people can't criticize some of the plays that were called and still blame the players too? It's like you guys live for hyperbole here.
  18. Neither did the Bills and then they let 3 up in a single game. Our RBs were averaging 5 yards per carry in the game on Sunday. That seems to be a little bit more of a weakness.
  19. I don't care if he feeds off the souls of lost children. He'd improve our line.
