  1. So this is what Bills football looks like when the defense can't bail out the terrible offense
  2. Well the Raiders ARE an offensive and defensive powerhouse, so it makes sense that they're embarassing us.
  3. Very disappointed in both sides of the ball in the first half.
  4. Exactly He could literally have 5 carries for 12 yards and still impact the game. Coaches like Bill Bellichick didn't get to where they are today by ignoring players that have shown flashes of homerun potential in the past even if that player is having a crappy season. CJ being back is going to change the Patriots' whole defensive gameplan.
  5. Having Cj back should certainly help us in the NE game. They'll have to account for another dynamic playmaker on the field regardless of what his production ends up being.
  6. Phillip Rivers - 2016 free agent. Part of a team that's gone from being a perennial playoff team to a team that's missed the playoffs 4 out of the past 5 seasons(if they miss out again this season). He's prime for the picking. Sign him to the the new largest QB contract in the league($25 million a year) and we're good to go.
  7. Russ Brandon's job has been to make money and expand the fanbase of the Bills. He's done a great job at that. It's the GM's job to put a winning football team on the field.
  8. Yeah I was looking at Guard base salaries here: http://www.spotrac.com/rankings/nfl/guard/. My bad. An outside pass rusher might be more valuable than a TE in a general sense, but this team needs a TE more. The Dline isn't suddenly going to become terrible without Hughes and would still be the strongest individual unit on this team. As we've plainly seen this and last season, an awesome defense isn't going to get you to the playoffs without an offense. They should be looking to make moves to make this team more balanced. Since there's zero chance we're going to be able to keep all the guys that make this defense AND sign guys to being the offense up to that level, they're going to have to balance out their salary allotment more.
  9. I'd rather have Jordan Cameron or Julius Thomas for $8 million a year than Jerry Hughes for $11 million a year. Also, Guards don't make $8 million. The highest paid guard in the entire league only makes $6.8 million a year.
  10. There's no way in hell they're going to pay Hughes $10 million a year here. I'm not sure I'd even want them to keep him at that price.
  11. Phillip Rivers - 2016 - 4 years/$100 million After missing out on the playoffs 5 of their last six seasons, a dejected Phillip Rivers says goodbye to the Bolts and signs with the up-and-coming team the Buffalo Bills. Ahhhh I can see it now!
  12. True, I forgot Dareus wasn't an FA this season. In that case I'd like either of those TEs. I'm torn over whether I'd rather keep Hughes or get that stud OG though. I doubt they'll be able to sign them all.
  13. Marcel Dareus - DE Mike Iupati - OG Julius Thomas - TE Go for a QB in 2016 when we have a 1st round pick as ammo.
  14. That didn't work so well for us this season. We used almost half our draft picks on Olinemen and still have one of the worst lines in the entire league.
  15. For the same money we could sign Julius Thomas and massively upgrade the TE position. He reportedly turned down a contract from Denver to test out free agency at the end of this year and he's looking for around $8 million( http://www.milehighreport.com/2014/10/26/7076563/report-julius-and-demaryius-thomas-turned-down-lucrative-contract) Who would you rather have on the team? Hughes or Thomas? I personally think the Dline would still be really good without Hughes, and having a TE like Thomas would give the offense a desperately needed boost.
  16. They're definitely not going to pay him $8 million a year, so if that's what he asks for he'll be gone. Let's sign Mike Iupati for $8 million a year instead.
  17. Who knows what's said behind closed doors or what the actual numbers will end up being. I just know that players have openly stated they would be willing to give their team a hometown discount to stay. There was an article on ESPN just last week about a player who said that(I can't remember who).
  18. That's not what hometown discount means. And yes, players have given hometown discounts in the past. So don't act like no players ever take less money to stay with a team they like.
  19. So you're ok with going into next season with one of the worst offensive lines in the league?
  20. I'd assume the FO is relatively high on Wynn since he's been pretty solid. I hope Hughes doesn't price himself out of Buffalo since they might consider Wynn an adequate replacement for the cost.
  21. Let's do it. EDIT: You added that 4 years after I posted, but I still say do it. Rodgers' contract averages $22 million a year. Matt Ryan/Joe Flacco's around $20 a year. It won't be surprising to see $25 million a year contracts for QBs by 2016. And it doesn't really matter who we'd have to cut to make cap space because there isn't anyone on the team I wouldn't be willing to get rid of to make room for a QB with a career 64.7% completion rating with more than twice as many career TDs as INTs. Mario/Marcell/Williams/Hughes may be the best Dline we've ever had but none of them are going to affect the game nearly as much as a QB.
  22. I wonder how much it would cost to get Phillip Rivers to leave San Diego when he's an FA in 2016.
  23. I'm not sure why everyone is hating on Cutler so much just because he's been terrible this season. His situation in Chicago is so toxic it's no surprise their season has been a disaster. People acting like Cutler is terrible don't know what they're talking about though. His career completion percentage is higher than: -Eli Manning's -Joe Flacco's -Andy Dalton's -Alex Smith's -Matthew Stafford's -Cam Newton's -Sam Bradford's -Andrew Luck's
