  1. None of this is crazy conspiracy theory stuff. There's zero doubt the NFL pays whole teams of marketing people millions of dollars to study how to maximize interest and viewership in their televised events.
  2. The actual profits from ticket sales are probably 0.0001% of the money the NFL male from the superbowl. And I really mean that, I'm not just writing some random low percentage. Far more important is interest in the Superbowl, which directly translates to tv viewers(where they make the big bucks). There's no better way to gauge interest in the Superbowl than ticket sales on the secondary market.
  3. I'd say. fact of the matter is that before "deflategate" SB ticket sales were trending over 10% below average. Add in some drama from something that the league was told about as far back as the regular season Indy/Pats game and is something most teams and players think is extremely minor, and you have yourself a "scandal" that the league decided to blow into epic proportions right before a superbowl that was going to be unpopular because so many people dislike both teams. The result? The largest media coverage of the NFL during the 2 off weeks before the bowl probably ever. And a 24% increase in ticket sales compared to the average. I've seen other sports use crazy made up drama before to increase interest in big events. The most notable would be professional wrestling.
  4. It's crazy to think the league didn't know about this. It's also not crazy to think they decided to make a big deal out of it 2 weeks before the SB for a reason.
  5. One stat worth noting is that before this all happened SB tickets were tracking at 12% below average. Today they're tracking at 12% above average, a 24% increase.
  6. I wouldn't want any part in cheering for a Bills superbowl win with Brady at the helm. That win would mean nothing to me, like of there was a strike and the Bills won with scab players.
  7. God I can't wait to get home so I can watch this press conference. I think I got a little chub just thinking about it.
  8. Both their passing stats inn cold weather compared to other teams in the league and their plays-per-fumble compared to the rest of the league suggest it's been going on since at least 2010. Unfortunately both of those charts were only calculated back to 2010. Who knows how much longer it could have been going on.
  9. The nice thing about this deflation scandal is that regardless of what the league decides to do, it's caused people to put the Patriots under a microscope and some of the oddities in their stats and performance are starting to get some spotlight. Their passing stats in bad weather games compared to other teams and their impossibly good ball security for starters.
  10. Ok this made me laugh my ass off in real life. Kudos
  11. 2016 in football time is like 50 years from now.
  12. You don't know me very well. I'd still be a Bills fan. In waiting. I'd probably watch and root for Green Bay until Brady retired.
  13. I don't see why Superbowls wouldn't count if we're talking about them being able to cheat easier while at home. The Superbowl is not played in New England. Their home record in the postseason since 2007 is 8-3. Also, since the balls are brought by the league themselves for the Superbowl it would certainly explain why they were unbeatable in 2007 and then lost to the Giants.
  14. Of course I would. What kind of stupid question is that? Why would I post on a team's message board that I don't watch? Unless that was an attempt to be funny?
  15. BenJarvis Green-Ellis fumble stats: 2008 NE: 0 2009 NE: 0 2010 NE: 0 2011 NE: 0 2012 CIN: 3 2013 CIN: 2 Weird.
  16. I wish that was bigger. Can barely see it.
  17. I'd literally stop watching the Bills until he retired.
  18. They're 0-3 in the playoffs when not at home over that time and 1-5 since 2005.
  19. Who said it was proof? It's just another stat to heap onto the pile of stats that point to the Patriots being cheaters. Also, all of those teams didn't have a better record than the Patriots when they beat the Patriots.
  20. Seattle whooping the Patriots in the bowl isn't enough. Something has to come out of this scandal big enough that it's remembered and tarnishes the Patriots' dynasty forever.
  21. That'd be nice. I know Spikes has already accused Bellichick of cheating with the injury report. So let me get this straight... The Patriots haven't won a single road playoff game since right after 2007 when they got caught cheating in Spygate? Shocker.
  22. What criteria are you comparing their warm weather stats to to say they're not using a deflated ball and doing better in warm weather than they should be doing?
