  1. Pretty awesome that Mac Jones played Wilson to a 3-3 draw too. The backup quarterbacks appear to be better than the starters on both those teams.
  2. McDermott is aggressive enough. Don't give him any ideas. I'd be afraid of any momentum swings with a play like that. And if the defense is good, you can continue to play the field position game if you get a 3 and out when they start at the 25. If the other offense starts at their 40 you could find yourself backed up inside your own 10 yard line.
  3. KC is a good team no doubt. Good chance they can get the #1 seed. I'm not that concerned though. Buffalo has played them well enough to win in KC in three straight matches. And in-fact did beat them in 2 out of 3. Bills make the playoffs, and they will still be the team nobody wants to face regardless of what seed they earn.
  4. I am curious if there’s any chance he could make it back for the postseason. But no way should he be coming back for the regular season. And ultimately it would be up to him.
  5. Negative. Would have made a world of difference in my Super Contest standings. I was actually cheering the returning at first until I realized he was going all the way. A game winning FG would have been perfect. TD screwed me.
  6. Dodson looked like Jaquan Johnson out there today. A noticeable downgrade from the starter.
  7. Not sure what the competition is out there but I am hoping he can earn first team all-pro nod. The dude is special. At the very least he should earn second team all-pro. Really? I don't think I have seen that on this board anywhere. I will say that watching Dodson out there today did make me appreciate Edmunds quite a bit more.
  8. I'd sit him for Detroit if he isn't at least 80% or so.
  9. Poyer and Milano are studs. I really miss Hyde and honestly don't miss Tre much at all. It's the safeties that have made this defense great. Bills might have no choice but to find a way to pay Poyer. It's risky because he is on the wrong side of 30 and already getting banged up this season. But I want to see Hyde and Poyer covering the back end again next season. Good points. I'm guessing he might make a home debut. But he could come back for the @ New England game.
  10. It's a thing because he complained in a controlled emotion. When do you ever see that? That's the kind of locker room McDermott has built. He didn't go off yelling at his coach like he wanted to fight him like you typically see. And in the end Diggs caught a TD that ended up being the difference on the scoreboard.
  11. Okay. But i mean anyone with a brain knows the last two losses were largely on Allen. McDermott in general gets heat because he is the head coach and the QB isn't going anywhere.
  12. Josh Allen has been getting crushed after this two-game losing streak more so than McDermott. As he should be. He knows he has to be better. But if the Bills fall on their face this year and miss the playoffs, who are you going to can if you have to can one? McDermott or Allen? McDermott would be canned without hesitation even if Allen finishes the year leading the league in INT's as he currently does.
  13. Besides a win? I'm not sure how no turnovers from #17 isn't #1 on every list.
  14. I think the key is to look through things through lenses of an NFL owner or executive. It's not the fans that will decide if he is or isn't on the hot seat. And the list of super bowl winning coaches that Chaos shared suggested that it's more likely than not that very soon our own owners/GM will put McDermott on the hot seat. Owners have to find a scapegoat. They won't fire themselves. They may think it is easier to replace a quality coach than a quality GM. And everyone in the entire building knows the franchise QB isn't going anywhere. That said, I do think the Bills currently constructed are one of the better well-run organizations with all pieces on the same page. I could see McDermott being the next Philly/Andy Reid should the Bills not win a super bowl in the coming 5 years. McDermott could survive. But history is against it.
  15. Good question. The fact is we just rarely see teams hold onto non super bowl winning coaches for 10+ seasons anymore. Heck, even super bowl winning coaches have been canned in far less than 10 seasons after winning a super bowl. It would be interesting to go back and see in hindsight which teams seemed poised for a super bowl in the coming years regardless of who the coach was. That would be tricky though because you would have to filter out quite a few bad teams. Andy Reid in Philly has to be the poster child of a team believing in a non super bowl winning coach. Reid lasted 14 seasons. Ultimately he couldn't save his job from his final two seasons in Philly which saw the Eagles fall from 10-6 (WC lost) to 8-8 no playoffs and finally 4-12.
  16. Your point and Chaos are both in synchrony though. McDermott could get fired after next season if the Bills continue to fail postseason expectations. McDermott would land with another team and if that team has a good QB and he establishes the culture and lifts the defense McDermott and new QB would win a Super Bowl in the first 4 seasons together. Meanwhile, still a good chance Josh Allen and new QB also win a super bowl in first 4 seasons together.
  17. A what?
  18. "every few years" McDermott is well past every few years already. He's in his sixth season. I don't think McDermott would be canned after this season. Even having the bottom completely fall out and missing the playoffs entirely i would still give him a better than 50% chance of returning. But anything short of another AFC divisional appearance again this year and I think next year the heat could be turned way up. And at that point he's in his 7th season and 6th with Allen. Hardly "few years territory". I saw one of those about a year ago and commented the same. They are rare for sure.
  19. I just want to quote this again. This truly is an amazing stat/streak. It's more amazing than the League MVP super bowl champions drought streak that goes back to I think 1999. You have to go back to 1976 to find a HC/QB combo that won a Super Bowl after their 4th year together.
  20. I agree. The 2021 team was definitely better than the 2020 team despite the season and post season records. One of the biggest issues the Bills have right now is that this is the second consecutive season the wheels have completely fallen off in the middle of the season. It could very well cost us the #1 seed yet again. It could even possibly cost us the division because the Jets and Dolphins have both improved greatly. I really wasn't sure why we struggled last year midseason or who was to blame. This year it feels obvious. Our struggles are due to injuries on the defensive side of the ball and Allen making poor decisions with the football. None of those are really on McDermott.
  21. Sound about right if the game were at Orchard Park. I think they will break 300 in a dome though if they get >150 rushing.
  22. I feel like Tomlin and Harbaugh are one and the same and very similar to McDermott. They are both great CEO's as is McDermott. Lots of regular season success and some post season success mixed in. Both Harbaugh and Tomlin were fortunate to win Super Bowls relatively early in their coaching careers. It could be a different story by the end of this season. 2020- Win Division, 13-3 #2 seed AFC championship game appearance 2-1 post season record 2021- Win Division 11-6 #3 seed Divisional round appearance 1-1 post season record Hypothetical 2022- second place division finish? 11-6 record? #5 seed ? 0-1 postseason record?
  23. Offensive coordinator is not the issue this year. Despite our recent offensive slump the Bills are still the #1 offense in total yards and #2 in scoring. And the Bills went through a similar midseason slump last year with Daboll who is now working his magic with the Giants. The difference though is that I would argue this year's slump is 75% Josh Allen's doing. Drive killing INT's and many that take points off the board. Plus a couple fumbles mixed in.
  24. If the Bills can keep winning there is a decent chance they can regain sole possesion of first place in the division as early as December 4th. This would require the Bills to roll off victories vs. Browns @ Lions and @ Patriots. The Dolphins are @ 49ers on December 4th. They are on a bye this week and it is very unlikely they lose coming out of their bye when they host the Texans. In 2021 the Bills did not regain sole possesion of the division until the day after Christmas with their win @ New England. I don't think the Dolphins will be overwhelming under dogs though when they play the 49ers. A more realistic date to regain the division lead might be December 18th when the Bills host the Dolphins. Or even more likely with the way this season is going perhaps the day before Christmas when they travel to Chicago.
