  1. This seems like a blunder by Beane. Why in the world would you create a headache for yourself and the team by making a player untradeable due to dead cap hits that cannot be traded away?
  2. Two years not three. Unless you thought the expectation in 2020 was a 13-3 season and AFC Championship game appearance all while still questioning who exactly Allen was heading into that season. If he fails a third year I think he is gone. But right now it is kind of fuzzy to me what exactly the expectations are for the season. I can't say with a straight face that the team has Super Bowl expectations. Just getting back to the AFC Championship game would be a great start to get things back on track. Even that might be a bit high though. I'd probably settle for not getting blown out in the divisional round. Anything less than that and he needs to be gone though. You simply can't go backwards three seasons in a row and not expect to pay the consequences.
  3. it’s all about the X’s and O’s . In this scenario Gabe is the 4th option in terms of target volume. Possibly even 5th should Cook become a significant target option. A teams success should not rely on whether or not we had a player on the roster to push our 4th receiving option.
  4. But look at the both the Eagles and Rams. Two teams that gave their Qb’s franchise QB deals, only to learn that those QB’s were not as advertised and yet both teams not only got out of those deals but also both made it back to the Super Bowl with a new “franchise QB” and one even won it. Teams can get out of them and still succeed if they are smart enough and have above average personnel skills. And some QB’s truly are great and are worth the money. I believe Allen is one of those QB’s and in the end that will get us an advantage over the teams paying QB’s that are not truly elite.
  5. I don’t blame him if he is looking to cash a big check before retiring. Also, he’s maybe a fringe HOFer right now? One more 1,000 yard 12+ TD season maybe he is a lock? That big check won’t come from Buffalo though. Don’t think we have the cap room. And we need a more longterm solution anyways. as some others have mentioned Chark could be the guy worth taking a gamble on. The talent looks to be there. Injury history could bring the price down to an affordable level. And he is young enough that his best years could still be ahead for him. My guess though is that the Bills try and overhaul the “x”s and “o”s rather than the Jimmy’s and the Joe’s at the skill positions. I think we see personnel investments in the o-line. Move Diggs to the slot? Have Shakir as the number one outside receiver? Gabe thrives as the #4 option behind Diggs, Shakir, and Knox? Get the running backs involved more. In the above scenario Diggs is still the main wr going over 100 receptions and 1200 yards. Shakir, Knox and Davis all come in around 60-70 receptions and 650-900 yards. We are paying Knox top 10 tight end money I think. So they will change the play calling to get him involved. Still not sold on Knox though personally. They will run it back with Diggs, Davis and Shakir. McKenzie will be gone. Crowder could be back if he is willing to play for close to the minimum. My guess is Beasley finally retires. Same for Brown. It will be interesting to see where McKenzie ends up if the Bills do move on from him. There is talent there for sure. We’re the Bills just using it wrong or is he just too inconsistent and unreliable? Would love to see what KC could do with him. That would really tell us if it was the Bills /Allen miss use of him or if it’s more on McKenzie himself.
  6. The Bills peaked after their blow out win against the Titans in week 2. I had never felt like I was flying higher as a Bills fan than after those two wins to start the season and meeting and exceeding the Super Bowl expectations. That was the last time they truly met and exceeded their lofty pre-season expectations. They would go on to beat the Chiefs a few weeks later but there were a couple of ugly games and a ton of injuries mixed in between.
  7. No thanks. he was beyond bad this year. Cost the Steelers a playoff spot. Greatly out performed by a rookie.
  8. Our #2 doesn’t have to have 1,000+ yards. Only Kelce had 1,000+ yards on the Chiefs. Juju had I think 933 in one more game played than Davis. The big difference is the Chiefs had 8 receivers with 200+ receiving yards and 4 receivers with 500+ yards. While the Bills only had 5 and 3 respectively. Chiefs were much better at spreading the ball around.
  9. I’ve noticed Allen is also pretty terrible at protecting his head. He almost always nonchalantly lets his head hit the ground first when he gets pressured in the pocket or behind the LOS. Watch Brady and you see his head rarely hits the ground.
  10. Allen and the offense gifted them at least half those points.
  11. Didn’t we punt it from inside our own 20? Just saying there are times where a touchback is okay. That would be one of those times.
  12. He fits the definition. More production would be nice but that would also cost more draft capital. Mims would be very cheap via a trade if he isn’t just released.
  13. Feel like Evans is not the kind of reviver that will produce well after the age of 30. Given what we would have to give up in trade and salary I don’t hubbub would have to pass. Let’s find another Diggs, a disgruntled wr who feels they are not being utilized correctly and under the age of 27. Possibly even on a rookie deal still.
  14. How do we get him in Buffalo?
  15. Feel like Miami needs to bring in a Jimmy G level QB for when Tua inevitably goes down again.
  16. some how they have managed to get out of every bad investment and pick they ever made with out much harm. Meanwhile it feels like the Bills mistakes and bad investments are now going to cost them. did the eagles just get lucky riding the rookie QB contract to two super bowls? nearly every year now it seems at least one of the teams in the Super Bowl has a qb on a rookie contract. It is one of the best ways to build a Super Bowl contender.
  17. A lot of my disinterest is the Bills own doing. In fact, it wasn't that long ago that I couldn't be prouder being a Bills fan. The butt whooping we put on the Titans on MNF coming off of the blowout win against the Rams to open the season had me flying higher than I ever remember since I was too young to appreciate the Super Bowl years. But problem was, it was only week 2 and the season was downhill from there. How in the HE double hockey sticks does a season where we beat the Chiefs in the regular season and only lose 3 games total feel like such a let down? And I'm talking at the conclusion of the regular season and not when the Bills were eliminated from the playoffs? Next season is going to be really interesting. I'm sure i will watch every game but I'm going to be more pessimistic, glass half empty than I have ever been. The Bills have blown it. The easiest recipe for getting to the Super Bowl is with a good/elite QB on a rookie contract. We blew that opportunity. We had three chances, and not only could we not win the Super Bowl we couldn't even get there. And even worse, we are going backwards two straight years now not reaching the conference championship game.
  18. Other than Kelce the Chiefs have a bunch of unproven JAGs. JuJu is not some great WR. His best days are behind him. He's more or a one year wonder. JuJu is the only guy outside of Kelce you could try and make an argument that they are actually above JAG level but I wouldn't buy that argument. Everyone else is a wash. They look better on the Chiefs only because they play in the Andy Ried system and have a QB that can spread the ball around better than Allen. Kelce and Diggs are both great. But I would probably argue Kelce is greater than Diggs. In my eyes, that is your difference. It's not a massive difference but it does push the needle to the Chiefs. Bigger difference would be o-line and unfortunately, QB until Allen learns to be a true distributor.
  19. For me personally I never felt higher as a Bills fan than after our demolishing of the Titans in week two. We had huge expectations and up to that point we were actually surpassing them. But it has been a slow decline since then and I’ve never felt worse as a Bills fan than I do today. The drought years were filled with terrible teams that had no shot at true success. That made it less painful. These past few years feel like wasted opportunities and even worse I find it hard to imagine excitement for next regular season when it all really boils down to the postseason. I haven’t listened to sports talk radio of any kind since the Bills lost to the Bengals. It was once a a morning ritual to tune in. As of right now I’m not sure when I will again.
  20. I want a guy that is 6'4"+ or has Hill/Waddle speed. It's seems like it has been forever since we have drafted guys like that. That said, the SMU WR Rice seems like he is a good mix of decent size (6/'2"), good enough speed, good hands and just a player that knows how to play the position. He might be the guy. But we are missing the playmakers with the elite traits.
  21. I'd expect quite a few players to seek greener pastures if the Bills don't get it done next year. At minimum need a conference championship game appearance. Eventually things just get stale. How do you continue to find motivation at the same employer when you are going backwards? At least the early 90's teams were making it to the pinnacle of excellence every season. I could see how they could maintain the focus and mindset. There will be mass changes everywhere outside of QB in 2024 if the Bills don't at least make the AFC championship game.
  22. They are back to the super bowl without him. They certainly haven't lost a step. You have to build an entire team for the present and the future. Moving on from Hill enabled the Chiefs to do that. The Bills don't have that luxury if they, move on from Diggs. They have way more holes and Diggs isn't returning the same value. My point though is that it can be done in the right situation. Chiefs were set up nicely to do so because of the return and because of the fact that they still have Kelce. If the Bills essentially had two Diggs on the roster and could trade one, create cap room for the future, while keeping the other but getting a 1st and 4 other picks in return it would be a no brainer move. I don't think the Bills and Allen are on the Andy Reid/Mahomes level of spreading the ball around. That makes getting rid of the Bills primary target option an issue. The only good thing would be that the Bills offense and Allen would essentially be forced to change the scheme and spread the ball around even more. Utilize Knox and the backs even more.
