  1. Get ready for it to be a Center/Guard or RT/Guard prospect at #27. The board will riot. My preference is Darnell Washington because he has the highest ceiling in terms of potentially being one of those cheat code type weapons on offense.
  2. I think it is important to have your GM select the QB. That is why we did not take one in 2017. And let's face it, Mahomes was not a can't miss QB prospect. He fell to #10 for a reason. It's all 20/0 hindsight nonsense. Sure, we got lucky draft Allen the next year, but you can say that about any team that hits on a franchise QB including the Chiefs. They are hard to find.
  3. You don't just take a QB Willy Nilly. It has to be the right time organizationally. The Bills just weren't there yet in the 2017 draft. Our GM wasn't even hired yet. You had a head coach that was basically calling all the draft shots that year. I totally understand why they were not in the market for a QB that draft.
  4. This is where Beane screwed up the most in using three day two picks on RB's over the last four drafts. Yes, he missed on Cody Ford at guard, but I'm willing to bet had he used two more day two picks on o-line rather than RB over the last four years that at least one of them would have hit and would still be on the team. Instead, he drafted three RB's. Two of which are no longer on the team. IMO, we should have drafted Singletary as we did and then drafted o-line rather than each of Moss and Cook. And this year we would be looking to draft Singletary's replacement.
  5. yes CB has more value . obviously if Elam busts and we can use hindsight then give me Hall. I’ll take anyone over a bust. But we can’t use hindsight when we are turning in a pick card at the draft. CB over RB in round one will always be the smart choice. As I said I seldom want to take a RB in rounds two and three as well. Our GM has used three of those picks in the last four drafts on RB’s. I think that has been one of his biggest a mistakes in building this roster.
  6. You don't understand because I never said it. Drafting a RB in round #2 given the teams needs was also foolish. Beane has drafted three RB's since 2019 on day two. At the very most we should have used a single day two pick on a RB in the last four drafts. Instead, we used three picks on RB's in those rounds over that time span. Chiefs got their super bowl winning RB in the seventh round.
  7. Definitely injury prone. But still, outside of his first two years in Buffalo he produced at a pretty low level even in the games he started. In 2017 and 2019 playing in high powered Rams and Chiefs offenses respectively he started 14 and 13 games but would not have even come close to 1000 yard seasons in either had he played the entire season in either.
  8. I'll believe it when I see it. The most important thing is for Josh to be Josh. If that means a 10 year career instead of 15+ then we better win one soon. I'd like to see him take the easy throws more often. Maybe that will keep his rush attempts down. In the playoffs I want to see him go crazy and run the ball 10+ times a game.
  9. Elam 10 times out of 10. It's irrelevant if Hall is a top 5 RB and Elam a bust. You have to draft the position that has more value. I really don't think any of your five points are all that true
  10. FML if the Chiefs actually take Darnell Washington at 31.
  11. Isn’t the majority of the difference between the bills and chiefs simply the difference in the cap hit between Mahomes and Allen? that is to say the bills will be spending roughly the same amount of caps space on offense as the Chiefs are once Allen’s contract really starts to increase in 2024.
  12. I'd argue our safety duo is the biggest piece to our defense. We are not spending big money on Rosseau. He is under a rookie contract. We are only now spending big money on Oliver because of the 5th year option. But that will obviously be short term. Miller, White, Milano, yes of course we are spending big money on them. As we should. Unfortunately, injuries derailed the season for two of them. White might not ever regain old form which may be unfortunate. Bills have a potential out after this season on Tre White. The top 10 QB is supposed to make all of the offensive pieces around him better. I don't see the need to pay more than 4 other guys on offense big money.
  13. Exactly. I think the Bills season could have been drastically different for the better had Hyde and Miller not gone down with injuries. The Bills are spending money. The injuries to Hyde and Miller and really White as well, who is not the top 5 corner back he was before the injury, really put the Bills in a tough spot. On offense they have spent money on Dawkins, Morse and Knox. The key is they have to hit on value free agents again (think Beasley and John Brown) and draft picks.
  14. Not sure, I agree with the take. without checking the actual numbers, where is the money going? Here’s my guesses. Dion Dawkins top 15 left tackle in the league and still under 30. Stefon Diggs- top 5-8 wr Tre White Von Miller Poyer and Hyde- best safety duo in the league Matt Milano- 1st team all pro linebacker Mitch Morse- top 15 Starting Center Dawson Knox- top 15 TE and young. including Allen, these players would make up our top 10 highest paid players. i don’t see anything majorly alarming. The thing that stands out to me is that three of these players were essentially lost to injury last season. Hyde, Miller and White. Miller looked to be playing himself into a second team all pro selection before he went down. Hyde was a huge loss and missed the most games out of all of them. White has not been White since coming back from his ACL. But he was worth the contract when the Bills extended him. Theirs not really anything they can do but hope he returns to form. Their super star high contract guys outside of Allen are Miller, Diggs and White. All of them appear worth their contracts but injuries derailed two of them. where fair criticism should be placed is on Beane’s inability to draft more top 15 players outside of Allen in the last five drafts he has overseen. The other part of this take that is bad is “all that money left behind”. Let’s not over react as if Allen is playing for peanuts. He’s still being paid top 10 at the position and that means the Bills are not going to be sitting on a mountain of extra cash to bring in more top talent than the average team.
  15. We are not drafting a LB day one two IMO. We only play two linebackers on the field and one of them is a first team all-pro. We are not in desperate need of another high-quality linebacker to put on the field. We will roll with Dodson, Bernard and Klein. Probably draft another on Day 3.
  16. Our super bowl window will also be cracked up with Allen. If Washington takes 3-4 years to reach best tight end in the league status I don't see that being an issue at all. Would be a wise investment.
  17. Something tells me Will Levis should decline.
  18. It's so hard to wrap my head around using a 2 on Cook last year and then using a 1 on a RB the following draft that is going to be on the field for 90% of the snaps.
  19. I'm not certain he needs to separate at an elite level. At his height, length and frame it is going to be hard for just about any defender to get in position to break up a completion. Obviously, anyone drafting Washington needs to do a deep dive into why he was targeted so infrequently in the Georgia offense. Was it the system? Is he still being developed? Did he start his career as o-lineman at Georgia? What position did he play in high school? Etc. Knox was seldom targeted in college and the Bills have been able to develop him. I could really see #27 coming down to either Hyatt or Washington. The thing about selecting Washington or perhaps Mayer or Kincaid should either still be on the board is that it would also represent a commitment to 12 personel and the Tight End being a threat in the offense. Is that something the Bills are really going to incorporate is the question that needs to be asked and answered.
  20. Washington is my guy at #27 now as well. The guy is just a physical freak. His catch radius really intrigues me. Not only is he one of the tallest TE's in the draft, but he also has the longest arms and biggest hands. He is the tallest TE in the draft, he has the longest arms, biggest hands, the heaviest and despite all of those positives in terms of size, he still posted the 6th fastest 40 time for a TE at the combine. The only metric he was below average at was the vertical where he tested the lowest at 31" But his height, frame, and arm length should be enough to overcome that. I have a feeling he could end up going well before #27 when all is said and done.
  21. Darnell Washington. 6'7" largetst hands by about half an inch at 11" heaviest TE at the combine (264lbs) and yet the 6th fastest 40 time at the position. longest arms (34.38") by about half an inch Only reason he might be available at #27 is due to his underutilization in the Georgia offense.
