RD 2, Pick 59: G O’Cyrus Torrence, Florida
Sammy Watkins' Rib replied to SDS's topic in The Stadium Wall
Can't complain about taking a guard in the second for sure. Beane has clearly gotten the memo that the team needs help on offense. -
I feel like Detroit blew it pretty badly. They took a RB early but yet still missed out on Bijan by what, 4 picks? That's pretty deflating. If you are going to go RB at 12 at least make sure you do what you have to do, moving up 5 or 6 spots to get the #1 guy.

RD 1, Pick 25: TE Dalton Kincaid, Utah
Sammy Watkins' Rib replied to SDS's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think this is 100% correct. not to mention we only play with two starting LB’s anyway. One of them is a first team all-pro. It’s not like we need another stud starting Lb. Not when we just need competent starting o-lineman on the other side of the ball. -
RD 1, Pick 25: TE Dalton Kincaid, Utah

I tend to agree. There were quite a few similarities between the teams success and struggles between Dorsey and Daboll. Seems EVERYONE wants to throw Dorsey into the fire. I get it. He's the new guy. He's the OC. Couldn't possibly be the fault of Allen not making the right read or check down. Let's face it, as great as Allen is, and he is the second best QB in the league IMO, he has room to grow in one important area and that is taking the easy throws and spreading the ball around more. Once he learns to perfect that he'll be unstoppable. -
RD 1, Pick 25: TE Dalton Kincaid, Utah

Davis should probably see about half as many targets IMO. Diggs needs to see less targets as well. Too Diggs centric. Knox targets will stay about the same or decrease by a small amount. Need the RB's to see more targets though. For his rookie year I would not expect 80-100 receptions. But 50+ out the gate for Kincaid would be nice. -
Your one, and only one, draft hot take?
Sammy Watkins' Rib replied to Sammy Watkins' Rib's topic in The Stadium Wall
Still one round to go, but seems unlikely six will go in the second round. Good job everyone. Lot's of hot takes here. Sorry, this is only a luke-warm take. Good job though. 👍 -
That's called GM speak. I'd never want my GM to actually tell people what he was going to do. Also, if he doesn't find a trade partner, he would have to either draft a player at #27 or get the very short end of the stick on a trade back. So, chances are he still would have been stuck with the decision to choose a player at #27 in which case it could have been one that Chaos pinpointed.

RD 1, Pick 25: TE Dalton Kincaid, Utah

My point is to expect Kincaid to have more targets and receptions than Knox. IMO, that makes Kincaid at least a 1a. and not a #2 which was the point I was objecting to in the original post I quoted. We drafted Kincaid to be a 80-100 reception TE. That is a #1 TE in my book. Knox's career highs in receptions are 48 and 49. -
RD 1, Pick 25: TE Dalton Kincaid, Utah

Kincaid was the consensus #1 TE in this draft it seemed. And a consensus first round talent. But I wanted the TE that was the tallest, heaviest, had the biggest hands and longest arms in the draft while being just as fast. But that guy didn’t have the production. Not as fluid a route runner I guess despite the elite three cone time. Kincaid has to be that 80-100 receptions per year TE for us. -
RD 1, Pick 25: TE Dalton Kincaid, Utah

none of that makes Kincaid the #2 TE. It’s most likely a 1A 1B situation. Maybe Knox gets 10% more snaps and Kincaid gets 20% more targets. -
RD 1, Pick 25: TE Dalton Kincaid, Utah
Sammy Watkins' Rib replied to SDS's topic in The Stadium Wall
Okay. How about the fact that Knox has been in the league for 4 years now and has yet to crack the top 10 in receiving yards or receptions . Knox is a borderline top 10 TE at best. No reason why he should be penciled in as the #1 -
RD 1, Pick 25: TE Dalton Kincaid, Utah

Knox is the #2 TE now. This dude is a first found talent and was the consensus #1 TE in the draft. Knox was taken in what, the third round? -
D’s Nuts is our QB.

Well done Chaos. I like how you focused on the greatest need for the Bills, increased red zone efficiency. I just that it would be Darnell Washington and that he would fit that specific need better. Does this also mean McDemott will never win a Super Bowl with the Bills? I’m thinking yes given Chaos’ previous predictions regarding Super Bowl winning head coaches and franchise QB’s.

Players you Absolutely Want the Bills to Draft
Sammy Watkins' Rib replied to Warriorspikes51's topic in The Stadium Wall
what are the specifics though? He blew up the combine with his 40 time and like top five time in the three cone all time for a tight end. But now all of a sudden he has medical issues? He seemed perfectly healthy at the combine. What happened? Did he get in a recent car accident or something? Just doesn’t make sense. -
We are less than 48hrs out from the completion of the first found of the draft. What is your biggest hot take? Mine is Darnell Washington being the first tight end off the board. I think this still qualifies as a hot take. I have seen some recent rankings and mocks that have Washington as the first tight end off the board or the second highest graded right end in the draft. Still, the overall consensus I think is that he is a second round prospect and the #3 TE. Some rumblings of possible medical issues but those could maybe be smoke screens. And after seeing how Gronk’s career panned out after his serious medical red flags I think more than one GM will be willing to take a gamble on him.

Wr Overload and what really needs to get done

agree. O line in the first and pray somehow that we can land Downs in the second. Maybe a small trade-up. -
NFL Schedule Interview with Mike North by Sal C Up
Sammy Watkins' Rib replied to corta765's topic in The Stadium Wall
Bills opening against the Rams was always likely the best possible game for the Rams last year so I think we have to throw that logic out. KC has enough good opponents, especially within their division, despite Denver and Russ' season last year people will still tune into a Denver vs KC game. Especially now with Sean Payton there. Very hard for me to see it being Bears or Lions. Especially the Bears. If that is the case, then why didn't the NFL just give the Rams their worst opponent on their schedule to open last year? -
Peter King/FMIA/PFT 1st Round Mock Draft
Sammy Watkins' Rib replied to Sierra Foothills's topic in The Stadium Wall
agreed. The only way that is remote possibility is if Gabe Davis has a massive season. Like the season many of us were thinking he was capable of going into this past season. But if he does that, then the bills will probably just sign him long-term and keep him. -
The development and what to look for in QB's is changing it seems. I don't have the data but more and more it feels like you want a QB that has been seriously challenged at the college level. Guys that had to overcome adversity just to get on the playing field. Guys that when they were on the playing field, did not always have the best offensive talent around them. Even Joe Burrow had transfer and keep working to get playing time. Same thing with Jalen Hurts. But both those guys played with really good talent. Then you have Allen who was denied FBS offers out of high school and had to play at the JuCo level. Plus, on top of that, once he got to Wyoming he was on a less talented team compared to his competition most Saturday's. It's like a QB's negative circumstances they have to overcome combined with their physical gifts is more important than their raw stats and efficiency in college. I would be extremely weary of drafting a Bryce Young or CJ Stroud in this draft. I would take one of Richardson or Levis to end up being the best QB out of the draft.

It's basically now or never in terms of them going offense heavy in the draft this year. Their tract record is basically defense and when they do go offense it is freaking RB. Feel like Beane knows the heat is on him to get some help on offense. He knows he hasn't exactly hit on his defensive draft picks to put it mildly and that taking RB's on day two has also not helped.

Our opinions on QB's are meaningless to the NFL which obviously did not rate Mahomes as highly coming out. Believe it or not I was one of thousands that did not want to draft Josh Allen at any point in the draft.
