They were wrong and it's time for them to admit that. Josh might not have a 10+ year career but do you want this version of an 85% Allen playing for 15+ years and hoping to make the wild card every year? We've heard Josh says he can't continue to throw his body around like he has. I wonder if he truly thinks that or if it's just what he has been told over and over again so he has convinced himself of it as well. It's Allen's body and mind so if he truly wants to protect himself, he should. But as fans we need to lower our expectations if we are not getting the fully maximized talents that he has week in and week out. We just have to hope he can flip a switch in the postseason assuming we get there.

How does he have half as many runs as years past then? That is more than just getting in his head about sliding. If that was the case he would maybe half 20% less runs but not half as many. As @Big Turk pointed out, we are taking the league's most physically gifted and dominant QB and turning him into Justin Herbert. And now we are getting LA Chargers results.

It is year six. Time to consider that Allen is who he is by this point. A top 5 player in the league who's mental processing will keep him from being a co-number one with Mahomes. If we want Allen to solidify himself as the #2 QB in the league he needs to be encouraged to run, not discouraged. It is what makes him special.

Officiating really sucks in the NFL
Sammy Watkins' Rib replied to Ethan in Cleveland's topic in The Stadium Wall
not sure what the NFL rule is but in high school the ball has to cross the line of scrimmage, not just go forward for there to be an illegal man Downfield call. on this play, the pass was clearly completed a good, 5 yards or so behind the LOS. If the NFL rule is the same then it’s definitely a good no call. -

at this point, if we just get to the divisional round this regime will likely save their jobs. -
In real life Josh Allen had an NFL average game yesterday.
Sammy Watkins' Rib replied to Chaos's topic in The Stadium Wall
I doubt you’ll find another game where he completed a lower percentage on as many attempts beyond 10 yards. That’s specifically the aspect that I don’t recall him ever being worse at. I did not say that overall it was one of his worst games. -

It’s not all on Allan, but he played a large role. What was he 2 for 12 or worse on balls that traveled more than 10 yards beyond the line of scrimmage yesterday? And that’s if I count Allen’s final pass, which was a beautiful strike to diggs, that he couldn’t haul in. in that aspect, it was one of his worst games I’ve ever seen out of him. He wasn’t just misfiring on the balls traveling 20 or more yards. It was anything over 10 air yards. -
On third and Long Shakir runs an eight or 10 yard route well short of the sticks, and Allen throws it beyond the sticks for an incomplete pass. Don’t know who is wrong there, but I have to think the idea is to run a route beyond the sticks and pick up the first down. there seem to be a perfect hole where Allen threw the ball.

The Bills are Going to Miss the Playoffs
Sammy Watkins' Rib replied to DapperCam's topic in The Stadium Wall
I can’t go there yet. In fact, the bills could still win the division. I don’t have much reason to believe the Dolphins will beat any any of the good teams on their schedule. It’s likely coming down to week 17. bills will likely have more divisional losses than the dolphins, and will be in a situation, where they need to sweep the Dolphins to beat them on a tiebreaker with the same overall record. -
it’s the anti-sugar rush high Josh mentality that the coaching staff is trying to instill in him. It’s the worst thing that could’ve been done.
-
I’m glad you responded, but I think you’re simply wrong on Cook. he had an amazing game yesterday. His best game as a bill yet and he’s already had several good games. he was routinely, getting tough yardage, right up the middle, 3, 4, 5 yards every time. Given his frame it is surprising how good he is getting those tough yards.

That’s a fantastic point Big Turk.

Poll: McDermott’s biggest mistake so far was …
Sammy Watkins' Rib replied to GerstAusGosheim's topic in The Stadium Wall
disagree only because that’s a 20/20hindsight situation. Mahomes was the third quarterback taken in that draft class for goodness sake. there really wasn’t any hindsight that could be said about 13 seconds. It was just several blunders in a row. -
I feel like he’s been doing that this season. Picking his spots. And so far that’s lead to what looks like a season where we will be hoping to make the wildcard. Is that really what we want out of the next 10+ years of Allen’s career? we should start to consider that we simply might not be able to reign Allen in and not have it detrimentally affect other parts of his game. is our best chance for a Super Bowl Allen playing at 100% of his effectiveness for the next four years or at 85% for the next 10?
-
sometimes you just can’t change the players mentality. Allen’s will to make the most of every single play regardless of game situation is what has made Allen so great. I get that folks worry about injuries. But if it comes to that I’d rather have Allen at 100% of his capabilities for a 10 year career versus an 85% in Allen for 15+ year career.

Bills @ Patriots Post game thread
Sammy Watkins' Rib replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
The screen pass has been a staple of the New England offense for the last 20+ years. Today it killed our defense. Inexcusable to not be prepared for it. Allen was about 1-10 on balls thrown over 10 yards today. Their kicker made everything and ours missed one. Those three things sum up the Bills loss. -

You’ll have to settle for top 5 after today. Pats appear to have enough fight left in them. They’ll beat the Jets again and then some other game they shouldn’t win. worst case scenario for you would be if they decide to not draft Mac’s replacement . -

Special play there by Allen avoiding the defender and finding Kincaid. So routine from him though.
