Who is Buffalo's most under rated player?
Sammy Watkins' Rib replied to HOUSE's topic in The Stadium Wall
Ty Johnson. Allen and Ty have connected on a bunch of highlight reel plays. It started in last seasons regular season Chiefs game and shows no signs off stopping. -
Vinovich is the referee, not the back judge. You do know where the referee is at on every scrimmage play, correct? Funny thing about the referee position is that it is not uncommon for them to not even know the result of a play. They they have their eyes on the quarterback, watching out for roughing. So the referee sometimes relies entirely on the other officials to know if a pass what caught or incomplete. Even when it’s obvious to everyone watching.

good point. Excellently explains Allen being the “most overrated” after most laughing at his being drafted in the top 10 and feeling vindicated after his sub 60% completion percentage his first two seasons. I don’t think it is about the money. Nobody actually thinks Lawerence is a top 5 QB though. Fringe top 10 and that is extremely generous.

Which team are you most scared of in the playoffs?
Sammy Watkins' Rib replied to margolbe's topic in The Stadium Wall
in the afc: Baltimore LA Chargers Denver In that order. Yeah, KC isn’t even in my top three. in the NFC, only the Lions really. I don’t like the idea of playing them when we beat them in the regular season. -
Allen was the big favorite at seasons end per Vegas. Now almost a week after the season has ended the odds change and we have a new favorite. I’m going to take a guess that this is the first time in modern history we have seen MVP odds change almost a week after the end of the season. Let’s remember it is the job of Vegas to get about even money on both sides. Not necessarily to predict the winner. Nothing has changed and as many have pointed out, Lamar being named first team all pro was a pretty likely outcome. But now the public is going to poor a lot of money in on Lamar’s side if the odds did not adjust so Vegas has to adjust Lamar’s odds incase Lamar were to win. I doubt anyone is running to put money on Allen now but really now would be the time to do so.

100% with you. i never thought for a second Allen would be first team all pro. I’m actually a bit shocked he won 2nd team all pro by such a wide margin. thought there was a real chance it could be Jackson and Burrow in that order. This doesn’t change the MVP narrative at all.
-
This right here. Virtually zero percent chance any of the 18 Allen voters do not vote him for MVP. There is a 12 vote difference between Allen and Lamar in first team all pro votes. that means Allen only needs 6 of the 30 Lamar votes to switch to him for the two to be tied in first place votes. Then it comes down to who gets more second place votes or who can swing the two votes that went to a QB not named Allen or Jackson. I don’t find that u reasonable at all. Very well could end up being about 8 -10 votes that switch from Jackson to Allen maybe even more. But on paper Allen needs at least six at minimum and that seems likely.

Broncos at Bills Sunday 1pm (confirmed)
Sammy Watkins' Rib replied to Just Jack's topic in The Stadium Wall
Not always the case. Do the home team Texans have more pressure than the Chargers? I' say no. Even before the game was moved I would say the away team Vikings had a lot more pressure than the Rams. -
Still blows my mind that Sammy's best season in the NFL was remains the one where he played in Rex Ryan's offense with Tyrod Taylor throwing to him. Despite later playing in the McVay offense and Reid/Mahomes offense. Truly a 1st round bust.

yes but Ravens will get a rest advantage over us the following week. I would have preferred the Saturday night game. -

Worst possible time for me. I either have to (a) ditch my family for the day (b) watch the game about five hours later on a recording and hope the outcome is not spoiled or (c) watch the game on my phone while being distracted 50% of the time. -
Did Allen win the MVP last year? Not only did he not win it, the vote was 49-1 in favor of Lamar. Precedent has been set. Allen also took the team to the 2 seed. Joe Burrow is hoping to take his team to the 7 seed if they get help. Bills didn't need any help going into the final weekend. I agree. MVP does not need a clear definition. I'm always confused by people that complain that it is not clearly defined. We all know the components that make up an MVP. Then it is up to the voters to sort out how those various components are weighted for that particular year.
-
Yes. But everyone else is pointing out that they only lead Allen in one category, stats. Allen leads in all the other categories that define an MVP outside of stats and that is why he is going to win. And it's not like Allen's stats are average. He's not having an average year like say a Mahomes. Bringing up guys like Tua and Dak don't make a sound argument in your favor. Sure they are both valuable to their team. But their stats are poor this year due to both missing so many games and not playing at a high level. Allen and the Bills will potentially become the first QB/team to beat a 16 win and 15 win team in the regular season.

It was four times. The problem is two of them were fumbles. One by Josh and one by a RB. Really can't ever put fumbles on the OC. Sure, sometimes INT's can go onto poor play design or calls. But fumbles blamed to the OC? One of the INT's went through Davis hands. Don't believe we can attribute that to the OC either. The one that could possibly be on the OC (still an assumption) would be the one right before the half. Think it was an out route and just terrible read by Allen.

It's the first time ever Lamar has thrown for 4,000 yards in his career and he needed a 17th game to do so. That is supposed to be celebrated?
-
Because that one game (again, not denying Dorsey was sub par in many games leading up to the Denver game) Dorsey was probably near last on the list of "who do we blame for this loss?" Good move, really bad timing in terms of firing the guy after that game as opposed to just firing him the week before. Dorsey didn't do anything that game to lose himself the job. It was the weeks leading up to that game that put the Bills in a situation record wise where a change had to be made. It reminded me of Rex firing Roman after his defense gave up over 30 points to the Jets in a prime time game in like week2.

I don't disagree a change was good. But the timing was ridiculous. The Bills offense was moving the ball against Denver all game. The players just made boneheaded turnovers, Rb's fumbling, WR letting balls go through their hands for INT's. Allen loose with the ball for a fumble. Dorsey called a fine game. A game that should have had them scoring 30+ points if the Bills just had two turnovers on the game instead of four. Bills offense even engineered a go ahead score with 2 minutes left. Then McD defense lets he Broncos go down the field for a game winning FG that they miss. Only to get called for 12 men on the field and then lose on the second FG attempt. McD had to fire someone after that game. It was just kind of ironic that Dorsey who did need to be let go, actually called a game that didn't warrant a firing.
