Holmes started his career in Baltimore so I don't think he qualifies if we are talking success with their original team.

This isn't the Pro-Bowl. That's not how the voting works for the HOF. So maybe he should have an asterisk that says *Not in HOF for statistical value

If he puts numbers like that up not only will he be doing something right, he would possibly be the MVP of the league. Because you know in addition he'll likely have 500 rushing yards and another 5 TDs on the ground. Cam Newton put up 3800 yards 35 TDs 10 INTs and 7.75 ypa in his MVP season.

Not saying he should have been first ballot. But the guy had to wait SIX YEARS to get in. At the time he retired he was second all time only to Jerry Rice in receiving yards. He had nearly a 1,000 more receiving yards then the next player on the list at #3. I'd argue Brown probably should have easily been in by year 3 or at worse year 4 of eligibility.

Tim Brown was dominant too. Look at the QBs that guy played with for most of his career. He could have been basically been Jerry Rice if he played with Montana and Young his entire career.

It's kind of inconsistent though. When a guy like T.O. isn't in yet it doesn't seem like it is too easy to make the HOF. Tim Brown is another guy I thought had to wait longer than he should have.

Thank You! Kept waiting for someone to chime in about Bettis. He's is definitely a player on the top of that list IMO. What's his career rushing average 3.8ypc? Just because you played a longtime, were given attempt after attempt and racked up a bunch of yards doesn't mean you were any good and made the most of every opportunity. And he offered next to nothing as a receiving threat too. I 100% think Warner deserves to be in. TD is always a toss up but I am fine with him getting in. He is basically the opposite of Jerome Bettis. It does open up the possibility of other palyers getting in with short careers though. Priest Holmes put up some amazing numbers for like three seasons.

Exactly. Especially true since we play them week 1. We lose that game and it's going to be full on tank mode around here. And with the tough schedule on paper, if we can't beat the Jets week one, we are probably lucky to finish the season with four wins.

Not necessarily. We have two first to use in a trade up. Bears are an example of a team that could be picking top five and looking for a trade down at the right price.

I look at it this way. The defense plays better we can win more games. We certainly squeak out wins over Miami twice last year with even just a slightly better defensive performance. OR. Tyrod plays better we can win more games. We would win games against Baltimore and Seattle last year if Tyrod made just a handful more plays in each.The good thing is that we have seen Tyrod play better. He played much better in 2015. So will his 2017 resemble more closely his 2015 season or his 2016 season? This is kind of the tiebreaking season for Tyrod. A prove it season for him.

One of the other rare times it happened was all the way back in 2002 when our own Bills beat the Dolphins and Ricky Williams who had 228 yards rushing. But two Miami QBs combined for only 55 yards passing that day in the snow. Bledsoe went for 306 yards and Henry added 151 on the ground with a whopping 35 attempts.

You've given us stats for one team in the bottom 10 where this is the case, Atlanta. Does this still hold up for Seattle, Dallas, Miami and Kansas City? Can you please provide the link where you found the quarter rushing and passing splits. I'm having trouble locating those stats.

Forget top 3 then. Look at top 10 and bottom 10. Four out of the top ten teams made the playoffs. Not bad. But five out of the bottom 10 teams made the playoffs. That's even better. There is really zero correlation from what I can see.

Yet none of the top 3 teams in pass attempts per game made the playoffs last year while two out of the bottom three teams in pass attempts per game did make the playoffs. I'm not sure there is a valid point here OP. You need to be able to throw it efficiently and at certain times when the run game is not going but you don't have to throw it all the time.

Tannehill is not that special so yes, I could see Peterman potentially competing with him just like he potentially can with Taylor. Putting it another way, both Taylor and Tannehill are QBs who are or should be on the hot seat. They have shown flashes but need to show more. And time is running out for both because they are no longer young QB's, both can be considered veterans at this point.

Who's Tyler Boyd? That guy was catching everything in that video. Peterman looks a whole lot more mobile than Pennington from what I remember of Chad. We should all be hoping that this kid somehow beats out Taylor this pre-season for the starting job. Not because I don't like Taylor. Just the opposite in fact. We know Taylor at worst is going to play at an average starter level maybe even a bit better than average. If Peterman can win the job that would mean Peterman is playing very well. It would be our own Russell Wilson/Dak Prescott type situation.

If we don't make the playoffs this year there will be fans that were born in 2000 and have gone through their enitre grade school picked on for being a bills fan and having never seen them once make the playoffs in their 18 years.

Let's see how it plays out. 95% of us thought we would feel some pain from losing Karlos Williams. Also, IF we get 16 games from Sammy, that alone would cancel out the loss of Gillislee, Woods and even another player. And are they considering Goodwin one of our top three receivers? I guess technically true, but his production will be replaceable by one of the new free agent acquisitions.

Two teams you say are not good or were awful last year both finsihed 9-7. What does that make us? We could easily lose to the Bucs or Broncos. God help us if we lose to the Jets week 1.
