I'd be surprised if many are given McD and the defense a pass. Everyone knows they are the main culprit holding the Bills back in the postseason. With regards to the offense in total, while yes, no one player besides Allen has stepped up consistently, the offense has for the most part has been consistently good or matched or bettered their regular season output with the exception of the Bengals game. In all three postseason games against the Chiefs, the Bills scored more points than they did in the regular season Bills vs Chiefs match ups. If the defense just plays to their regular season standard in one out of the those three games the Bills likely have a Super Bowl appearance. I think that is in part why the individual inconsistencies of the offensive personnel are overlooked. The Bills are still putting up points making those inconsistences a moot point. But it is a glaring issue when your #1 all pro WR consistently does nothing in the biggest games.

That's true. A player of Diggs salary and talent level has to show up more than 20% of the time in combined divisional/conference championship games. He's had one good game out of 5 and that was the Ravens game, his very first divisional/cc game with the Bills. He was 0-4 after that.

70% of Hurts rushing TD’s (29 out of 41 total)are 3 or fewer yards Only 50% of Allen’s rushing/receiving TD’s (27 out of 54 total) are 3 or fewer yards. Furthermore, 28% (15) of Allen’s rushing/receiving TD’s are from 10+ yards out. Only 21% (6) of Hurts total are from 10+ yards out. Allen’s rushing TD’s have always had greater degree of difficulty. I could only find stats for 3 yards or less but I would venture a good guess that 70% of Hurts TD’s that are 3 yards are less are from one yard or closer. Allen’s probably closer to 50% with just as many scores from 2-3 yards. The Bills did start to heavily turn to the tush push when Brady took over but the Eagles have been doing it for two full seasons now at least.

Diggs had a very similar decline in production in the final seven games of the 2022 season under Dorsey as well. In fact, in all four of his seasons with the Bills, Diggs always had a lower ypr in the finals seven games first the first 8 or 9 games of the season. 2022 First 9 games (Dorsey): 13.68ypr, 72.7 catch % 109 ypg 2022 Final 7 games (Dorsey): 12.33 ypr, 65.5 catch% 63 ypg (46ypg decrease) 2023 First 10 games (Dorsey): 11.89 ypr, 71.6 catch %, 87ypg 2023 Final 7 games (Brady): 9.26 ypr, 58.6 catch %, 45 ypg (42ypg decrease) Diggs playoff track record is also not great. He had good games against a lot of the wild card teams. But it is very much true that he's been a total no show in all four of the Bills playoff exits to the Chiefs and Bengals. Diggs, numbers against Kansas City in both the regular and post season games are mind boggling bad. In the combined 7 games since 2020 he has had one good game which came in the 2022 regular season game: 10 receptions on 13 targets 148 yards and a TD The other six games he was held to under 30 yards in 3 out of the six. He had 77, 69 and 46 yards in the other 3 games.

Disagree strongly. How do you explain Mahomes lack of maturity when Tony’s big foot went over the line? You are deducing that because Allen has a funny and playful personality that it means he is not mature or doesn’t work hard. Like the two traits can’t co-exist. Mental toughness? Is not throwing two go ahead scores in the final two minutes of a divisional road playoff game in which your team was trailing most the game not exhibit A of mental toughness? Making the necessary plays down the stretch in the final game of the season on the road against a division rival to take the division crown after throwing a costly interception earlier in the first half = mental toughness.

Even if all those things are true, at the end of the day it is about results. Allen has proven both on the stat sheet and win/loss column that he is undoubtably a top 3 QB in the league. You don't play at a top 3 QB level for four straight seasons by accident. Underdeveloped at the line of scrimmage. Umm okay, we know he isn't Brady or Peyton at the line.

Brandon Aiyuk officially requests a trade
Sammy Watkins' Rib replied to SCBills's topic in The Stadium Wall
I already acknowledged that, In the very next sentence so I don’t quite understand why you are bringing that up. I’d rather not make excuses for a player at his age. If he were 27 or 28 then I could probably look past that. -

Not me. Adams age scares the heck out of me. He's also coming off his lowest ypr since his second year in the league. We can make excuses for him and say his QB play was bad but that's not a gamble I want to take on a guy his age. It would almost certainly have to be structured as a one year deal. One of the things I love about Aiyuk is that he seems to be a low volume target receiver. Each of the last two seasons he had 114 targets in 17 games and 105 targets in 16. Adams is more like Diggs, maybe even worse so in that he's averaging like 170 targets per season whereas Diggs would average about 160. I like the idea of spreading the ball around more. The top four targeted receivers for the 49ers last year were all around the same: Aiyuk 105 Kittle 90 Samuel 89 McCaffery 83 -
QB Rankings (& Point Differential)
Sammy Watkins' Rib replied to hondo in seattle's topic in The Stadium Wall
The inexplicable thing is the difference between regular season vs. postseason defensive performances in these match ups. In all 4 regular season games, and even including the lone loss in 2020, the Bills defense did a terrific job of keeping the score low: 26, 20, 20 and 17 points scored by the Chiefs offense. While the three postseason games the Chiefs offense has scored: 38, 42 and 27. The 27 looks somewhat nice on paper but reality is given the Chiefs offense last year, it's a high number of points. 27 points was 5 more points than the Chiefs regular season average, 10 more than they scored in the regular season match up against the Bills and the most points the Chiefs scored in their 4 total playoffs games last season. The Bills defense also needed one incredibly lucky play to keep the Chiefs from scoring 34 points in the most recent playoff loss. -

Interesting seeing the Bills and Ravens at the top by a wide margin. The two are both dominant regular season teams on both sides of the ball. But in the postseason they have conflicting issues. Bills defense is shown to be frauds in the postseason while it's the Ravens offense is shown to be frauds in the postseason. -
??? Re-read what Rampant Buffalo posted. “OL… Played well in many other postseason games also” Many as in most or large number of but not all. The “every” reference was to the three playoffs games against the Bills which I would say is pretty accurate, seeing as the Bills d-line doesn’t seem to get pressure on Mahomes in the postseason and the Chiefs average like 35 ppg in those contests.

THE ROCKPILE REVIEW - A Roster for McDermott to Work With
Sammy Watkins' Rib replied to Shaw66's topic in The Stadium Wall
That's a great breakdown. You forgot Beasley on the the 2021 squad. But even with the addition of Beasley I agree with your take that the overall receiving threats (WR/TE) of the 2024 roster are better than 2021 on paper. So the big question marks between the two rosters are Diggs and the two safety spots. Otherwise it's basically a push or advantage 2024 roster. -
Yardage Predictions for Bills Receivers in 2024
Sammy Watkins' Rib replied to hondo in seattle's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'll be pretty bummed if Shakir only goes for 50 and 600. He has his naysayers because he looks like a Corgi out there on the field but the dude has shown the ability to just make it happen when he gets the ball in his hands. Really hoping for more like 80 and 1,000 out of him. -
Yardage Predictions for Bills Receivers in 2024
Sammy Watkins' Rib replied to hondo in seattle's topic in The Stadium Wall
Curtis Samuel is a big question mark for me. He fits that productive veteran free agent role. Question is, will he be John Brown / Beasley or Sanders / Crowder? He's younger than all of them by at least two years and much younger than Sanders when he came to Buffalo. I think many are writing Samuel off because our most recent vet free agent WR signings have been flops. But I think and hope Curtis produces much more like Brown and Beasley when they first arrived. -
Josh Allen.......over/under 10.5 Rushing TD's???
Sammy Watkins' Rib replied to Special K's topic in The Stadium Wall
I thinks he goes over but not drastically. He hits 11 or 12. Until the push tush is banned, the Bills would be dumb not to use it every time they are at goal to go from the one and in. If the Bills use that play at the rate they did under Brady’s seven games last year then I see Allen getting 5 or 6 TD’s on the tush push play alone at minimum. -
Josh Allen.......over/under 10.5 Rushing TD's???
Sammy Watkins' Rib replied to Special K's topic in The Stadium Wall
They started using the tush push at a high rate in the second half of the season. Because of that I could see the over hitting. Don't recall what game it was or if it was still with Dorsey as OC. But it was like 3rd and goal from inside the one yard line and I think we ran the ball with a RB instead of doing the tush push. Failed to score and then had to throw on 4th and goal and failed again. Everyone was screaming for the sneak or tush push on 3rd down over the handoff. I still expect Allen to be featured as a runner on those goal to go situations from a yard in. -
Paramount+ for the win. just simply open your chrome web browser on PC change your computers gps location to wherever the Bills game is locally playing that day and stream the game to your TV. someone posted a few years back a detailed way to change your computers location. Developer tools < sensors etc. $6 per month gets you nearly every Bills game for the season since the vast majority of CBS games or national TV games.

I doubt he is on their 2028 roster let alone 2029. So will they be paying her for like three years and he’s not even on the team? Because they’re not really paying him these next three years. still very fascinating how it differs from the Burrow contract. Complete opposites.
