  1. I wonder how much those team rankings were aided by playing the Bills.... :bag:

I don't think Denver went from #10 to #1 just by playing us if that is what you are wondering. No doubt we aided those rankings some but those are good defenses even without our help.

  2. Defensive ranks (ypg) of teams played through 5 games:

    1.Denver

    2.Cincinatti

    3.Carolina

    10.Atlanta

    25. NY Jets

And the teams we have left to play:

    32. New England

    31. Indianapolis

    30. Tampa Bay

    29. New Orleans

    27. Kansas City

    25. NY Jets

    24. LA Chargers

    23. Oakland

    8. Miami (only team in league with an offense ranked worse than ours)

The offense has to improve right? Question is how much and is it enough to get to 9 or 10 wins?

  3. These offenses suck. Come on I need fantasy points.

    Schwartzy looking old

i could have told you that.

Eagles are 6th in the league in points scored and top 10 in both passing yards and rushing yard. I'd say their offense is fine, if not good. Maybe Carolina actually has a decent defense? That's kind of good for us because maybe our offense isn't going to finish at this historically bad pace we are on. Maybe it has to do at least some with the really good defenses we have faced so far this year.

  4. If you want a good QB you have to pay for it. Would love to see him here but...

I'd rather see them draft a top prospect QB in 2018 and use that money on other positions on a team that needs a complete offensive rebuild.

    I agree.

Problem with Cousins is he is going to be 30 years old next season with whatever new team he is with. How will he play at the age of 33 and 34? To me he doesn't look like a guy that will hold up at even 33 or 34.

  5. It's still early but this feels like a year where 9-7 will earn a wild card spot. Heck, both wild cards might be 9-7 with a couple division winners being 9-7 as well. 11-5 is very optimistic but not impossible. 9-7 does seem very doable if we assume we take care of business against the Jets, Colts and Dolphins twice we would only need to find two more wins between the rest of the opponents. This next game is a big one though. Old Bills would lose back to back games after a 3-1 start. This team needs to find a way to right the ship and get to 4-2 with what you have to still consider a very winnable game against the Jets after that to get to 5-2.

  6.

It's the second oldest team in the NFL and probably the oldest roster they've fielded since the drought began.

They kept and doubled down on veteran players because they were trying to win NOW.............this was lost on some of you who thought they were tanking (and apparently still lost on you even as they face the likelihood of not being able to get up near the top of the draft even if they trade their entire draft to move up).

This roster has potential to get real young real quick though. This is likely Kyle's last season and I wouldn't be surprised if next season is the last season for Wood, Incognito and Alexander. Throw in a ton of draft picks and I'd bet our average age drops quite a bit. From this season to the start of the 2019 season.

  7. So your saying a later rd QB that was pushing the starter in practice shouldn't get a chance because he's not a top 10 pick?

Seattle would've missed out on Wilson with that line of thinking.

When was Peterman ever pushing Taylor in practice? I don't believe that ever happened. MAYBE one practice? Maybe?

Now, pre-season, yes, Taylor struggled quite a bit. But so did Peterman. Taylor's struggles were against 1st string defenders. Peterman's struggles were against 3rd string and guys out of the league. Taylor has also played well 3 out of 5 games this year. And as for Turbitzky, he actually looked good in preseason, much better than Peterman.

I don't see the similarities either. Especially when you look at the team records.

  8. It's a fair deal at best, not a great deal. It meant no Watson which may be a factor to downgrade the trade. It depends what they net out of the pick player wise really. If the Chiefs pick nets them a QB or is part of a package to get a QB then it could be more favorable

You only downgrade it if we were really considering Watson. I don't believe that was the case.

  9. Ill be the first to admit... didnt expect KC to be this good.

Sitting are 5-0, one would assume that they will be in the playoffs again, perhaps with a first round Bye.

So STRICTLY LOOKING AT PICKS (do not factor in White)... was it a good trade?

Bills trade 10th overall pick for:

    2017 27th overall pick

    2017 3rd round pick

    2018 (ESTIMATED) 25th-32nd overall pick

Why would you not factor in White?

Bills were apparently going CB with their first pick along. Turns out a good one was still available with the later pick. Worked out.

I still think it was a good trade despite wherever K.C,'s pick might end up. This of course assumes they did not have an eye at all on Watson or Mahomes. Because if they did and one of those guys turns out to be great then that is a huge miss. Also assuming of course that we don't end up getting our franchise guy in this draft.

  10.

A lot of people thought this receiving group would be solid this season. Numerous people predicted very solid number from Zay Jones in particular. They said he'd easily replace Robert Woods production from last season and that Matthews would replace Sammy.

Those people were a little off base.

To be fair who the heck thought Zay would struggle this much? He has struggled so much it is becoming comical. And also, Matthews is supposed to be a huge part of our receiving threat. Just like when Sammy would be out, when Matthews is out we are going to feel it.

Just for the record through 4 games (before today) Bills have had 4 drops.

For comparison OBJ has had 4 drops himself

Apparently statistics lie because Zay has easily had 4 drops by himself before today.
