  1. Peter King has always been a class act IMO. I wish him all the best. It sounds like his family genes have some health issues with his father and siblings passing away young. And I am surprised to read that he is just now turning 60. I would have guessed he was 65 or so.
  2. Even if we improve our statistical ranking there is a good chance we don't match our 9-7 record and wild card birth. Improving our offensive ranking from terrible to bad and our defensive ranking from bad to average is not typically the recipe for a winning season. It could happen but we would need to find the lucky horseshoe again that we had last season.
  3. My biggest concern about McDermott is whether or not he will be able to surround Allen with the pieces, coaching specifically, to succeed. Cam Newton was able to grow and succeed under a defensive minded coaching staff. Hopefully McDermott will be able to do the same for Allen. But if I had my choice i would prefer to go the Pederson, McVay, Reid route with head coach and young QB. As for next seasons success, I think we all need to be prepared for growing pains as a strong possibility. For that reason I am very glad Beane held steadfast not giving up the 2019 1st rounder. Come next draft if we are picking in the top 10 we will remember that decision as a wise one.
  4. Dang. 91% approval rating?? Nice. You probably can't even get that on Patsfans.com message board for Tom Brady. I wasn't a big fan leading up to the draft or even in the moment of the draft. But glad to see we have pretty much all come around to him and will support him.
  5. I don't necessarily trust Belicheck in personnel evaluations. Particularly at RB where he seems more than willing to go by committee and randomly plays guys here or there. Then throw in the Butler benching and I question him even more. Maybe he was hoping Gillislee would be a primary ball carrier for them. And when they realized he wouldn't be that they preferred other options as their secondary backs? I would be willing to take a chance on him backing up McCoy again.
  6. Gillislee and McCoy made up the best running back duo I've actually seen and can recall in Buffalo. Would not be against having Mike back at all.
  7. It's all subjective. Those may be considered premium picks but then what do you consider the 16th overall pick where we got Edmunds? Premium ultra?
  8. Of course they didn't believe you Big Ben. Last off-season you weren't sure if you wanted to play anymore. Can't just now say never mind I want to play 3-5 more years and expect the coaches and GM to believe you. They have to prepare for the future. It's easy to say you want to play 3-5 more years in the middle of April.
  9. Absolutely. We do either of the deals with Cleveland or Denver and we can kiss Edmunds good bye. If Edmunds goes on to be a perennial pro bowl type player we will thank our lucky stars Beane held steadfast on not giving up two first rounders.
  10. First sentence says he is a polarizing player in the locker room. But then doesn't really give any examples of such. Sure he has been a bit of a bust up to this point in terms of production and availability but does that alone make one polarizing in the locker room?
  11. Yep. Smallest hands of all the QBs in the 2018 draft at 9 and 1/8th.
  12. I think there are a lot of bitter fans here. Rightly so probably. But the bottom line is I do think Marrone had this team on the upswing. EJ was not Marrone's QB. That's clear since he didn't hesitate to bench him early in his second year. Marrone might be a prick, but that doesn't mean he can't be a great coach. Is there a bigger prick then the guy in New England? That said, we have McDermott now and hopefully he continues to get the best out of our players just as Marrone did for us and is doing for Jacksonville now.
  13. ??? This is like saying you don't live in Buffalo, you're not from Buffalo, why are you a Bills fan? I guess I should just become a fan of another team? Agreed. I have zero family connections to Buffalo. Only been to Buffalo once for a home opener. Still a fan though.
  14. Maybe so. For Peyton it seemed the opposite though. Guy flat out couldn't throw anymore. Favre certainly did seem to get beat up a lot. Much more than Brady and Peyton were or have been. Brady has always been very good at protecting himself.
  15. Tom Brady pisses in his cheerios, your cheerios and every TBD poster's cheerios. Being MVP of the league at 40 and throwing for 500 yards in the Super Bowl probably does make one feel that way. Brady will slow down eventually. I'm just not counting on it being over the next two years. 3-5 more likely. QBs in general do seem to be playing longer these days. Brees is pretty much right there with Brady in having discovered the fountain of youth.
  16. "Is this thing on?" Wait, is that the wrong guy? Who was Russ Brandon again?
  17. GM Speak Gettleman would be a fool to say that he had an offer of 3 first round picks+ but decided to stay at #2 and draft the least valuable position in football.
  18. Loving the Allen pick more and more with each passing day.
  19. I love that Allen is from the Central Valley. Think blue collar, like Buffalo. Instead of blizzards and sub 20 degree temperatures. You have dust storms and day after day of 100+ degree temperatures. The Carr brothers also called/call the Central Valley their home. It is a unique part of California that many outside of the state would not be familiar with. It's California's very own "fly over country". It's a shame he couldn't get on with Fresno state and follow in the footsteps of Trent Dilfer and the Carr brothers. But in the end it worked out okay for him. Side note, I've been living in the Central Valley, Bakersfield specifically, for the last 6 years.
  20. I don't think Peterman gets cut. It's more likely than not, if AJ starts they won't want Allen having to play this year should AJ have to miss sometime with an injury. Perhaps if Allen looks far ahead of schedule they may change their mind. But for now I would think the game plan would be to not force him into playing time until he is ready. They didn't have anyone else beyond Taylor so when they had to bench him to light a fire under him they had to put the rookie in too soon last year. Result was 5INTs in the first half. They do not want the same scenario to present itself in week 2 or 3 of the season if AJ goes down. Only shot of Peterman being cut is if we bring in someone else or Allen looks really, really good. At which point Allen may just start week one anyway and make Peterman expendable.
  21. So at least in Buffalo, if you are a QB it's better to have a low Wonderlic score?
  22. At least two seasons starting.
  23. That has nothing to do with who Beane would have preferred if he had his choice. Allen was their top choice for who was left on the board. Obviously, because they took him. But we will never know if he was their top choice overall. I believe he was over Mayfield for sure though. That's typically how it works for every team. So yeah.
  24. I do believe he got who he wanted as well. Possibly he would have taken Darnold over Allen but I doubt Mayfield.
