  1. None of them were trashed by the national media like Josh has been. Those guys were largely after thoughts to the national media. Very little attention good or bad. Josh on the other hand had a ton of national people doubting him coming into the league. Just like a lot of Bills fans. But the media has been slower to jump off that train. By Bills fans? Yes. Josh has not been trashed as much by Bills fans because we watch the games and he's been a pleasant surprise to most of us.
  2. I think New England brings someone in still. I mean Dalton makes way too much sense for both parties. They can bring Dalton in on the cheap and still elect to start Stidham if they want. New England's defense will still be good. But the odds of them being historically great again are extremely low. Both the Steelers and Patriots led the league by a wide margin in takeaways. Those stats are hardly ever carry over to the next year. Bills I think were much closer to the mean in takeaways so there is a greater chance we could see more takeaways next year and at the least, very slim chance we see a dramatic fall in takeaways.
  3. I think it all adds up to him getting more targets next year. When he does play receiver is it usually in like the TE role? With that kind of money committed to him i wouldn't be surprised to see if reception total double.
  4. Bills really are the legitimate #3 team in the conference. That right there is amazing to think how far we have come in just three years under McDermott and Beane. Even if Brady was still in New England a good case could be made for Bills as the #3 team. I would probably have Chiefs #1 over the Ravens at #2. Mahomes is just ridiculously good. Down 24-0 early in the second quarter of a playoff game and you come back and win by 20??? Down double digits to the Titans. Come back and Win. Down double digits in the Super Bowl. Come back and win. Chiefs defense also seemed to get better as the season went on. I think the defense gets better next year as well. I'm not sure what we will see out of New England. Their defense was historically great with turnovers and defensive TD's scored. That's actually a problem for 2020 as takeaways and defensive TD's almost always fall back to the mean. New England still might have a top five defense next year but they might suffer some more L's if they are not getting the same number of takeaways.
  5. This all boils down to how pissed Rodgers is. Pack still want him. But does Rodgers demand a trade? Probably not for this year. As poor of a move this was by the Pack, got to remember they still played in the NFC championship game last year. So it's not like Rodgers is on a terrible team that is going nowhere. He would have to go to a team that is ready to win now that also needs a QB. How many of those are there now that the draft is over?
  6. Lawson was under rated for us IMO. Would love to have higher sack numbers from this guy but honestly as a second round pick if he has the same production as Shaq that wouldn't be bad. Shaq just wasn't worth $10 million per year without the consistent sack numbers. Had he been available to us for around $5 million per year he'd probably still be here. We had Shaq for 4 years for $10 million on his rookie deal.
  7. So he is good? Glad my eyes are not betraying me.
  8. I agree but the mistakes he's made the last two years when under pressure are the same ones he made at USC. It's just how he naturally plays against pressure. He'll beat it sometimes but he'll also just throw stuff up for grabs. Even the best o-lines have off weeks so an improved supporting cast isn't going to fix those problems completely.
  9. Darnold will always have his problems, his cons. Just like Allen will. Everyone should realize by now that Darnold is not the once in every 10 years type QB many thought he was. I still think he's a franchise guy in the long run just like Allen. But many of the things he does now, like throwing off his back foot when under duress will stick with him throughout his career. And even if his team were better, he's still going to find himself under duress every single season and week at some point. Even the great o-lines let pressure through in this league.
  10. I can assure you we are all assured by your assurance.
  11. Adams doesn't strike me as a player that wants to go to Jacksonville.
  12. Love is a Central Valley boy just like Allen. Allen from Firebaugh just west of Fresno. Love is from Bakersfield a couple hours south of Firebaugh. The similarities don't end there. Both played in the Mountain West Conference. Both had break-out Sophomore campaigns followed by questionable Jr. seasons before entering the draft. Love is a less athletic maybe more polished passer version of Allen coming out of college. Hmmm. Who does that sounds like?
  13. This would be a non-story if BOB wasn't an idiot.
  14. Those numbers are totally bogus anyway since one is a playoff game and the other a game where we rested everyone beyond the first quarter. Plus, if we take a deeper dive we see that the Jets were creamed by both the Pats and Ravens in blow-out losses. Bills took both down to the final possession in one score games. Jets loss to both the Bengals and the Dolphins. Bills had their struggle with each of those teams but did not lose to either.
  15. So if you are looking for a franchise guy and have the option of Minshew or Allen for the rest of their careers you are taking Minshew? Sure Minshew had a good season last year. But what is his ceiling? Remember, Mayfield was rookie of the year and the consensus #1 QB from that draft class. Now we are not even sure he is the 4th best QB from that class. Things can change quickly in the NFL.
  16. When factoring age and ability the only QB's I would take over Allen are Mahomes, Wilson and Watson. Would almost throw Murray in there too. But would leave it at those three for now. This is a scenario where I am a GM that is looking for a franchise QB for the next 10 years.
  17. EJ did get the short end of the stick iin that before his final game in 2016 against the Jets he had only started exactly 16 games through three seasons. That's not really any opportunity. But just going on what I saw from him in those starts I had very little faith he would have been an even an ounce better than Losman's 33 starts for the Bills. EJ did look good in the 2015 pre-season (as well as Tyrod) but we really can't put much stock into that. What could have been? But then look at Peterman. He looked like the MVP of the pre-season two years ago and then we all saw him fall on his face again for the second time. We can make excuses for both players but at the end of the day one won a lot more games and had way better numbers. Those are really the only tangible things we can go by. But Tyrod has certainly been on a downward tragectory ever since his arrival in Buffalo down to his abysmal play in his final season here and and even worse outings since in Cleveland. At this point with 46 starts under his belt he almost certainly has more bad games then EJ has in total.
  18. I see the angle in which you are looking at them. While those points may or may not be true, pretty much none of them relate to the topic of who was the better QB on the field. Who was able to more consistently make the plays that needed to be made to win the game? I have a lot of respect for EJ as well as a person. And yeah maybe more than Tyord as a person. EJ is a great guy. But his QB skills were terrible.
  19. It's a half glass full or empty situation for them. They'll get a good player but they have so many holes they will still be missing a key piece on offense either way. I really don't think Adams is that great. If a team were to offer a first round pick for him I'd be doing that deal in a heart beat if I am the Jets.
  20. That was EJ's best and worst game all in one. He was down right terrible in the first half. Brought us back in the second half with the help of a pick six as well. I can't get behind EJ being better than Tyrod. In fact for me, EJ might rank behind everyone except Losman in-terms of QB's that started at least 16 or more games for the Bills since Jim Kelly retired. Did Tyrod kick your dog or something Gungy?
  21. It's amazing how bad that draft was for QB's. EJ was the only one taken in the entire first round I think? And not taking till #16 AFTER we traded down from #8. That should have told us everything about how much even those making the decisions thought of EJ. You don't take a chance on missing a QB you really like over 8 draft spots. Amazing that pretty much all the team including the Bills to a degree since they traded back to get EJ, were spot on with the draft being low on QB talent. Has there been a draft since without even 2 QB's going in the top 10? Hard to imagine in today's hyped up QB prospect world only 1 QB going in the first round and none in the top 10.
  22. I think they are all from Junior college. Apparently Reedley junior college plays it's games at RHS. Which I would assume is Reedley High School. Nitrates from all the dairy farms.
