  1. Josh will be a franchise QB for us completing on average 58-60% of his passes. That was my prediction before last season. So far he is right on track for that. With the other skills he brings to the game he doesn't have to be a 63-65% completion QB for the team to have success. If he can be a 61-63% completion QB he'll probably be wearing a yellow jacket one day.
  2. I think you could say Dak is in a prove it year. Last year was supposed to be the prove it year to get the big deal. Problem is we seem to have as many questions as answers at this point. If I am the Jones' I consider letting him play on the franchise tag. Little risk that he will hold out. Has a QB ever held out into the season? Heck, have they ever held out into training camp? QB is one of those positions, viewed as the leader of the team, where you pretty much can't do that. An unwritten rule in a way.
  3. Mahomes could probably sign a 300MM deal if he really wanted to force the Chiefs hands. Or he could sign two year deals at around $100 million per deal. It would be career suicide though in terms of winning Super Bowls. But he would probably still break a lot of records along the way to never seeing another super bowl. But yeah, $200MM on a 5 year extension is probably around what Mahomes will settle for to at least keep the team somewhat competitive around him.
  4. I agree. And giving Dak a $35MM deal is not going to help. The team as a whole surrounding Dak is on the decline. The defense never materialized into a top unit like we thought they might. And the o-line, once the best in the league not long ago, is now around average. The wildcard is the coaching change. Maybe McCarthy will be able to turn things around.
  5. I think him and his agent are overstepping a bit. I guess I can't fault them for trying but man I hope the Cowboy's don't give in. I feel like the deal they have offered Dak is more than fair. Dak is basically trying to keep his cake and eat it too. Isn't he setting the market now with a $35 million per year deal? I don't see why he should be due the $40 or $45 million in the 5th year. That's how players in the NBA have started to work their deals. Problem is, the NFL is still the ultimate team sport. I'm not sure the same strategy would work in the NFL. But no doubt the Chiefs would basically give whatever Mahomes asked for. Hell, I could see a two year 100 million dollar deal.
  6. I think you have to look at it in the long term 10-15 year perspective. we still have to battle Mahomes in the playoffs every year so even bringing in Rodgers for say two years is no guarantee at a super bowl. Lesser QBs then Rodgers are even less a guarantee. the Rams went all in for a super bowl and ended up scoring 3points and leaving empty handed. Now their roster is starting to look expensive and not as good. They are suddenly third best in their division at best. so long term I would have Mahomes and Wilson as no brainers. I would reluctantly take Watson and Jackson and hope they stay healthy and productive. And I really like Kyler Murray last year so it would be a toss up with him.
  7. I agree. There fans sucked when we went to the old stadium. I think it was 2012 or thereabouts. Went to the Oakland game in 2014 and actually found there fans to be better.
  8. Maybe so with the Bills or Patriots ahead of them. But it's hard to put them ahead of the Steelers who basically played the same opponents, were handicapped by a bad offense (Ravens D benefited from the best offense) but still but up similar or even better defensive numbers than the Ravens. Plus factor in the head to head where the Steelers had to play the Ravens #2 YPG overall offense twice but the Ravens played the Steelers 30th overall ranked offense twice.
  9. It's a four hour drive for me so maybe. I hate seeing the Bills lose though so I am also considering Vegas or Arizona. Also about 4-6 hour drives.
  10. The Browns torched them but I guess every defense has a bad day. In their own division the Steelers were better than the Ravens in some metrics and not far behind in others. I assume they played pretty similar opponents. Steelers defense was backed by a trash offense though. Ravens were backed by one of the best offenses in the league.
  11. Agreed. They had no QB last year but their defense was still great. Give them a good QB to help put even more pressure on the opposing offenses and their defense will probably be #1 next year. Hopefully New England takes a big step backward. Easily? I'd have them fourth behind Steelers, Patriots and Bills.
  12. Depends on if New England's defense is historically great again. I think they showed a lot of cracks towards the end of the season so you may be right. But if the defense is great again that unit alone could give them the second best roster.
  13. They just need to exercise common sense. They don't need PI replay. They used common sense when they nullified the turnover on the second half Kick-Off of the Wild Card game. Screwed us out of points but watching it live I knew they had to overturn it. It does open up the can or worms though of what do you do if a guy drops the ball intentionally just before crossing the goal line? Historically that's always been a turnover. Would they now call it a TD? We know what his intentions were and that he was easily going to score.
  14. It's like the MNF game against Dallas back in 2007 or whatever year that was. No way Dallas should have won that game based on the turnovers and defensive and special teams TD's the Bills had in that game. But fluky plays aside, Dallas was the clear better team and they won.
  15. I agree except pretty much all those turnovers we had in the first half were fluky as heck. One bounces off of Beasley right into the hands of Mosley for a TD?? One fumbled snap?? Another tipped ball I think? Bills dominated the game in yardage. That's why eventually once we stopped shooting ourselves in the foot we came back and won.
  16. This should be a rematch of last years divisional round game if we didn't completely crap the bed in the second half and overtime against the Texans. I'm shocked someone would have it number 3 though. Maybe because of all the unknown? Likely top four teams in the conference on paper that have not matched up together in recent years with teams as currently constructed.
  17. 3 of the final 5 games are prime time games. And 4 of the final 5 if the Broncos game gets flexed. Kind of wish it was more evenly spread out. Will either be an epic stretch to clinch the playoffs or an epic collapse.
  18. 100% correct. I think most rational Bills fans understand this.
  19. Brigewater was also selected with the 32nd pick overall. Similar to Jackson. Big difference in not investing a top 10 pick in a guy.
  20. I'd love to see Dalton take Dak's job too.
  21. Passing numbers are very similar with Allen having a slim edge in efficiency. But both are supposed to bring a big value to the game with their legs and Mitch fell off a cliff in that regard in 2019. Their rushing totals and efficiency from 2019 are not close. Allen ran circles around Mitch after running circles around him in 2018.
  22. I agree. I could actually see Fitz playing for a 9th team too.
  23. Aslo, the Bears defense was head and shoulders above all other teams in takeaways and defensive points scored in 2018. Once those statistics fell back to the mean it made it much harder on Mitch and the offense. Bills had a good defense last year but they did not dominate the league in takeaways and defensive TD's. A significant decline in those stats is much less likely for the Bills which means Allen and the offense will not have to make up for as much as Mitch and the Bears offense had to try to make up for last year.
  24. Even if he surpasses Fitz in number of teams played for, which is no guarantee (7 or 8 teams seems more likely) he won't come close to matching Fitz in games started and career passing yards.
