That was just stupid. Biggest reason why Jackson will comeback down to earth is plays like that. Jackson had a 9.0 TD%. That's not sustainable. Only two other players since the 1970 merger have posted a 9.0+ TD%, Peyton and Rodgers. Jackson had three games where he posted 5 TDs each on 20, 20 and 23 attempts.

Cowherds top 10 AFC qb’s. Allen at #5.
Sammy Watkins' Rib replied to Stank_Nasty's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah Cousins is a step higher. Both have been pretty consistent in what they do though. It's hard to look at the numbers Carr has put up and think he is part of the problem in Oakland. He had a career year last year despite what seemed like a very underwhelming supporting cast on offense. He's also been supported by bad defenses every year he's been in the league. Raiders are contantly ranked between 20 and 32 in defensive PPG and YPG given up. -

Just looking at the numbers Derrek Carr was really good last year. In fact, just by numbers he's been good most of his career. He feels like the AFC version of Kirk Cousins. He puts up good numbers but it seems unlikely he'll be the Raiders starter beyond this season. -
Exactly. He already made a big leap from what 53% to 58%? For half the season or a bit more he was over 61% I think. And that included a terrible game against the Patriots in the first half of the season. I have to give Allen the benefit of the doubt that he'll continue to develop and improve that percentage. But, I don't see him ever being a very high completion percentage type QB. He won't be a 65-70% type QB. If he were too some how reach that level were probably talking about an all-time great QB developing when combined with his arm strength and athletic ability. I'd expect his completion percentage to rise to the 60-63% range.

Jamal Adams Requesting A Trade
Sammy Watkins' Rib replied to H2o's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
LOL Bill. I was responding to the poster that said the Jets defense would definitely take a step back without him. My point is, if they can generate more pass rush there is a good chance they will not take a step back as they'll have a coverage safety in coverage more often. Will they generate more pass rush? Maybe, maybe not. It's not like 6.5 more or close to it is unimaginable. Jets were in the bottom third of the league in sacks and QB pressure percentage. They have plenty of room to go up. It's not a case of asking a team that was top five in sacks to try to find 5 or 6 more. Just playing the odds game they are more likely to generate more sacks and a better QB pressure percentage next season with or without Adams. -

No. They'll just have to find a way to get an extra 6.5 sacks out of their front seven. And if they succeed they'll be even better as presumably they'll actually have both safeties in coverage. -

From checking out the comments on the Jets message board it seems 80% of Jets fans feel the same way as your friend. Maybe 20-30 years ago he would have been one of the best safeties ever but in today's game I'm not making an average coverage safety the highest paid defensive back in the league. -

Most teams run a defense that does not require their safeties to be one of their primary pass rushers. I'll take Hyde and Poyer all day over Adams in the system the Bills run. And at less than half the price if Adams gets the money he wants. -

Exactly. He's nowhere close to being even the best safety in the division when you factor in how the game is played and what the safeties most important role is. I'd take Hyde and Poyer over him. Throw in McCourty. He might be #4? Ahh, okay. Sportracs web page has it listed a little differently then White's so I thought it hadn't been exercised. White's is listed on the front page as exercised under the contract details but Adam's it not (says available). But yeah then in the transaction tab it says it has been exercised. -

I was comparing Adams and the Jets situation to White and the Bills and wondering why the Jets are having contract issues with a player so similar to White but the Bills are not having contract issues. Neither currently has signed a contract extension. Both drafted the same year. Both coming off first team all-pro seasons in their third year. Then I noticed that the Jets haven't even exercised Adams 5th year option. That's a little disrespectful for a player that was just named all-pro. I don't know. Troy P. held is own pretty well in the secondary. He wasn't just a around the line of scrimmage safety. -

Personally I think he's a bit over rated. I want my safeties to be great cover guys. Not sure he is. But, if I am the Jets and i think he is good I call his bluff for now. Getting a first round pick for him in return doesn't really help the franchise. They need to know what they have in Darnold now. And when it comes to the QB position, they look a lot better when the team is winning. Trading an established all pro player going into his fourth season for a first round pick that might not produce at a high level for a year or two sets the entire teams timeline back a year or two. -

Yeah, I mean if there is a start kicker in the league there is only one and he's in Baltimore. -

I won't lie. I am nervous about being the unanimous preseason and Vegas favorite to win the division. -

Ending the National Anthem Debate
Sammy Watkins' Rib replied to Paul Costa's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
But why did we do the pledge in school while looking at the flag? That obviously had zero to do with the military. Sports has zero to do with the military. I think the flag branches out over all of our country and all citizens. The military obviously protects our citizens and country so that is their connection to the flag. But the flag itself is much bigger than just the military. And as for the act of actually kneeling I really don’t find it disrespectful. If anything it shows more respect. You could stand and look at the flag just like you stand in a grocery store line. Or you could take a knee as a sign of respect. I recall after every football practice we all gathered around coach and took a knee and listened attentively as he addressed us. -

I love them. only problem is people are constantly confusing them with Giants jerseys. I always get “hey tough loss today to the Cowboys”. And I am like ??? -
Seeing as the peaceful protest/display is before the kick off that is still 100% possible.
-
But remember how Steeler fans went bezerk after the Steelers did that? The NFL will do away with the anthem all together before trying that again. With so many players, coaches and owners now openly supporting the right to kneel it seems the NFL could stand to lose more money if they attempt to find ways to circumvent players from kneeling.
-
maybe so. But what can the owners do about it? I think if they start to fine, suspend or cut players that kneel they could find themeslves losing even more eyeballs. Especially if marquee players like Mahomes and Watson continue to speak up. I can’t seem them telling Mahomes or Watson to have a seat on the bench.

Quarterback sneaks and Josh Allen stats
Sammy Watkins' Rib replied to CorkScrewHill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That was against the Jets. He gained about 6 or 7 yards on a 4th and 1 or 3rd and 1 but a shoelace tackle kept him from potentially breaking for a 50 yard TD.
