It's certainly very possible that management and ownership have made it very clear that at 0-11 they must land the first pick. In what ways they have made that clear to Greg and/or Gase who knows. You can't just go out there and completely lay an egg. Players won't do that. He's still calling plays. But it didn't seem like he was putting his players in good spots on the final TD possession or the one before it. He certainly doesn't have much to gain by winning either.

Someone on one of the broadcasts basically mentioned that down the stretch even on the previous drive that the Jets were basically playing the same defense. Essentially giving the Raiders opportunity after opportunity to make the right play call and pass that could pull out the win. Of course the players will always play hard, but I wouldn't put it past someone like Greg to basically intentionally put his secondary in bad situations to try to ensure a loss.

Line Shift in SF Game: Bills now Underdogs
Sammy Watkins' Rib replied to Casey D's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't see a huge difference between Mullens and Jimmy G. Other than bank account balance and good looks. That said, I really do think our defense is starting to gel. 49ers will try to run the ball down our throats but as mentioned by a poster previously i don't see a repeat of the Chiefs game because they don't have Mahomes and Hill/Kelce for our secondary to worry about. I think we keep them to 20 or less. Bills score 23+ I still have Bills at +1(Bovada) but i fear it will also go to pick em. I need to bet my teaser sooner rather than later but it's hard when you bet six team teasers. You are always waiting on a line or two to move in a more favorable direction. I LOVE the Bills at +7 but only love them at +6. -

I wouldn't bet the line on this game but I would tease it. Whichever team ends up teasing a TD or more. It opened at 49ers teased to +8.5 now it is Bills teased to +7. Both look like good bets to me. I think our defense is starting to gel so i see a chance of keeping the 49ers under 20 points. -
ESPN NFL Playoff Machine (Updated December 22nd)

Just win out and I won't be afraid of any team we face in the playoffs. 13-3 teams don't fear anyone. Not even the other good teams. -
I need Packers -2 tonight to hit on my third 6 team 6pt teaser of the season. It's the only thing I can win with this year. My parlays and blazing fives have been terrible. Just barely above water on my all 256.

That's my QB! Leading the league in unsportsmanlike and unnecessary roughness penalties by QB's. That a boy Allen! -

Give it time. Both teams are still feeling each other out. You don't abandon your game plan after three series when you have a TD on one of them. Expect adjustments in the second quarter which we aren't even in yet. -

He still had like four yards to get. Not convinced at all he would have gotten them going straight ahead with defenders all around him. -

Terrible third down call. Either run it with a back or let Allen throw it. -
Just be careful. A lot of times if you deposit any real money before or after they will not allow you cash out until the bonus is completed. From my experience it's just not worth the headache to play with the bonuses.

Depends on what the roll over is. I hate the roll over rules with their max cash outs too.

Week 12: Chargers at Bills

Still always a possibility. Looking at Miami they beat both the Chargers and 49ers so just those two games alone we would prefer to win both. -
Week 12: Chargers at Bills
Sammy Watkins' Rib replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Obviously we would love to have him in the line up this week and next. But big picture it's more important to have him in January. Their are at least 22 players on the field every Sunday. Brown would only be a small reason why the Bills don't win. It was a half glass full/empty day for the Bills offense against the Jets. They didn't punt all day. Two would be TD's were taken off the board that majority of the time would have been scores 90% of the time. -

I'm thinking if we can get by the Chargers this week, an AFC opponent then at 8-3 with the next opponent being the out of conference 49ers I would be cautious and sit him out another game. If we can't pull out a W this week though then things will tighten up considerably assuming the Jets don't get their first win of the year this Sunday. -
I've stumbled upon X team to win by 1-6 points parlays. They are a great sucker bet. You can parlay two teams to win by exactly 1-6 points for around +1800 odds. Just search out games you think will be close and you think you know who will win. So far I am 0-2 but hey as long as I go 1-17 I'm good right?

Look at JA this year. He's had games where he hasn't really run the ball at all. I think even one or two where he literally didn't run the ball. So those games really drag a QB's overall numbers down. Wilson only had two rushing attempts against us when we played him. But he was running far more than he had the previous couple of seasons until that game.
-
That's true. The passing numbers have been going up for nearly two decades. Mobile QB's used to be guys like Vick, Tyrod, RGIII and Kaepernick. Guys that could put up one really good season but never really develop into that pocket passing QB. Jackson is more in the mold of those former QB's. Guys like Herbert, Allen, Wilson, Watson and Murray have the skill level to run like them but have also shown the ability to make far more plays with their arm.

The Bills and Patrick Mahomes
Sammy Watkins' Rib replied to gotme365's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Looking at the here and now, would the Bills be any better off this year with Mahomes instead of Allen? Maybe? No guarantee either way. I'm more than happy to have Allen. -
You got it. Vikings only went 8-8 that year too. Sort of like this year with a mix bag of team success for the four players on pace to surpass the 4350 and 300 yard mark. And Culpepper actually went way over those numbers. 4700+ and 400+ and 39 passing TD's. It was a great season he had. Steve Young would have came really close to some of those numbers or even better but he didn't play a full 16 games very often.

Ryan Clark was the player. He almost died. He also had a sister that had sickle cell disease (worse than sickle cell trait). She ended up passing away due to complications of the disease a few years back I believe. The interesting thing about sickle cell is that it was a genetic benefit for most of human history because you were more likely to live longer rather than die from mosquito transmitted malaria in your adolescence. Better to die in your 20's then in your youth.

Through the first 100 seasons of the NFL only one QB has ever topped both 4,450 passing yards and 300 rushing yards. I'll let you guess who. HINT: It wasn't Aaron Rodgers though he came close twice. I know those totals are a little random but I find it interesting that through 100 seasons only one player has put those numbers or better up. And now, at the conclusion of the 101st season we are on track to have four new members of that club. Justin Herbert (even with only 15 games played he is on pace to hit this mark, Josh Allen, Russell Wilson and Deshaun Watson. These averages can continue to go down for all four so we'll see where they end up. For now they have fairly comfortable leads. With Trevor Lawrence and Justin Fields coming into the league next year, Kyler Murray continuing to become a better passer and the question of whether Lamar Jackson can develop as a passer, we could see this milestone topped by close to 10 players or so in the near future. I've always though it's only a matter of time until a unicorn QB shows up. A guy that's 6'5 with the stature of Big Ben, cannon of an arm, reads the entire field like Brady, Peyton and Brees, has legs like a gazelle and is a tremendous leader. That time might be sooner rather than later. And maybe Josh is that unicorn?
