Josh Allen Surpasses Russell Wilson in MVP Odds
Sammy Watkins' Rib replied to Logic's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yep. Very hard to win the MVP when you probably won't even win your division. As I said in another thread, regardless of what Rodgers and Mahomes do, the MVP really can be Allen's to lose. The key is all the primetime games down the home stretch. Win out, and put up like 10:1 TD to INT ratio in the three prime time games (he's already 4:0) he'll have a really good shot. I could also see both Rodgers and Mahomes splitting half the vote allowing Allen to get the other half. He's also doesn't have a compelling storyline, or any storyline really, which right or wrong is part of the MVP equation. Rodgers has the " they disrespected me with the Love pick and didn't draft me any help" line. Allen has the "biggest single season jump from year 2 to year 3" story line. And one of the most panned QB's ever to come out of the draft in the top 10. -
Can't unfortunately. I bet six teamers and rarely are their even six games I want to bet on Monday or Tuesday morning.

That would be nice and an absolute steal. But probably not realistic. Anything below Watson's deal would be a great bargain. And Watson is at what $39 million per year?
-
Man I hope it stays at +1.5 /+1. I want to absolutely hammer that line with a teaser. That feels like the lock of the week for a teaser.

I think QBR is still a good stat. Josh is top 6-7 in both QB Rating and QBR. I'll take it. Josh has had games where his QB Rating was 77 (Bad) but his QBR was 67 (Good). This was the Titans game. And most of us agreed he played well despite the overall bad QB Rating. But even with the two fumbles 75 QBR seems awfully low for last nights performance. And you would assume QBR would be smart enough to not credit Allen with the Moss fumble.

The guy we need to lock up is Daboll. Allen is a no brainer and that will happen this off-season. But let's not forget about Daboll. We should make Daboll a lifer. He can stay with Josh and become the GOAT OC.

Yeah. It's the uniqueness of the Bills schedule that gives him a chance at all. He just lit up the 49ers and the entire country got to witness it. He has the rare chance to go back to back and do the same to the Steelers on SNFF. Then two weeks later the Patriots. He has to navigate a tight rope but I do see a path.

Because I love getting way ahead of myself, I was just thinking Allen still has a path to the MVP. Heck, I'd even maybe say he controls his own destiny. The key is all the primetime games. He doesn't have a lot of room for error though. Bills basically have to win out and Allen has to play well in all of them averaging 3 TD's or more per game. In particular he has to have 3+ TD games against the Steelers and Patriots on SNF and MNF respectively. Yeah, Mahomes and Rodgers will have unbelievable numbers still but the people that vote for these kind of awards are always looking for cool story lines. Allen having a breakout season and crashing the party of great QB's is probably the best storyline. Especially now that the Seahawks and Wilson are faltering down the stretch. That last minute Hail Murray also really hurt. The media would have been all over Allen in a good way had the Bills held on after Allen's go ahead TD.

We have our franchise quarterback

He's no worse than #4. Mahomes is clearly #1 still. Wilson, Rodgers and Allen can go anywhere from 2-4 depending on the week. -

One of those rare win-win trades for both teams. But unfortunately for the Vikes and Jefferson they will probably have issues in a few seasons when the Vikings likely do not have a franchise QB and have to make a decision on Jefferson. And will Jefferson want to sign long-term if they don't have a QB? -

Sucks, one of the reasons I was so confident in Washington this week is that I wanted so badly to face and unbeaten Steelers team and then I thought to myself, nope. Things never line up the way I want them to for the Bills. But at least THIS Bills team can create their own destiny with their play. Crazy thing is Steelers schedule is actually pretty darn tough still. They could go from 11-0 to not even winning their division if we beat them next week and the Browns can really get on a roll. -
Bold predictions for MNF

Josh Allen scores 8 TD's. -
Except for the Bills. LOL. Anything but 3-5 guys in the end zone waiting for the receiver and ball. This is probably true and as close of an answer as to "did the Jets intentionally throw the game"? No. But they certainly were far more aggressive and risk taking then an average 5-6 team would have been. Carr really should have connected on several passes for TD's the drive before as well. But his throws were off the mark. A couple because of the extra pressure but still he should have gotten a couple there. Greg likely doesn't make the same play calls if they are not 0-11.

Nicely done. I am now 0-13 on 3 leg parlays for the season. But I am two legs away tomorrow from being 4-9 on 6 team 6pt teasers this season. Crossing my fingers for tomorrow.
