It will be interesting to see who emerges as our #2 receiver this year. I just have a hunch that it won't be Beasley. And that will be a good thing because I still think Beasley will be solid and chip in around 650 yards. But I could see both Sanders and Davis eclipsing that total with one of them right around 1,000.

This could all still go the Kobe route too. Kobe's reputation as a pretty clean young kid took a big hit but ultimately he would go on to retire as one of if not the greatest Laker of all-time and beloved by millions. Kobe never stopped playing during the season he was on trial for his rape accusation in Colorado. That's why I think even if this does go to trial in season I think the best thing for Watson is to continue playing. Unfortunately for Watson, I don't think Goodell and the NFL's personal conduct policy would allow for a player to continue playing with such a trial going on.

Looks like he will be playing QB for the Texans this fall provided he is not suspended or worse. I don't see the Texans trading him now with his value in the toilet. And I thought before there was a 50/50 chance Watson could sit out the season if he wasn't traded. But now I would fully expect him to play. No better way to rebuild your image in the court of public opinion then by playing. Sitting out would be a disaster.

If we go offense in Round 1 (Poll)
Sammy Watkins' Rib replied to Bakin's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I like Toney. Keep in mind Sanders will be 35 in 2022. Beasley will be 33. We could draft a first round prospect this year, slowly work him into the offense and perhaps by the 2022 season he'll be ready to become a focal point of the offense. I would play Toney sparingly this year. He'd probably be our return specialist and run all the same plays McKenzie did. I think it is highly unlikely both Sanders and Beasley are still on the team in 2022. Likely just one is and possible that neither are. So 2022 would be the season where Toney gets an expanded role in the offense with a year of experience under his belt. -
Josh Allen 2021-22 predictions
Sammy Watkins' Rib replied to Milanos Milano's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm still awed how Allen finished the season. He totally dominated those final 5 games and they were against some pretty good defenses. 17 total TD's in 4.5 games and that included at least two TD's that were taken off the board because of dumb penalties and easy drops. If you give him those two TDs and average it out for a full 5 games it would have put him at 21 total TDs in 5 games. Obviously that is a pace of over 63 TD's in a 16 game season. I do think we will see 60 TD's by a QB soon. And I mean based on a 16 game schedule too. So make that like 63 or 64 on a 17 game season. -
Yeah I didn't really care to dive into that discussion. But again, just more evidence of how wide spread and mainstream those type of parlors seem to be. Really makes me believe Watson more than likely did behave inappropriately but at the same time no way was it any of these women's first encounter with that kind of behavior and they probably were not sure if it was something they should just pretend never happened or file a suit. So that is probably why suits were not filed until now.

Agreed. For someone who has never had a message by a legitimate licensed therapist or otherwise, the entire industry is confusing to me. The news, and our culture make it seem as if these happy ending type message parlors are somewhat common and can be found in every city. I can see where Watson thought he was just acting as a normal customer and at the same time the masseuse may have thought this isn't over the top behavior by Watson, or even behavior she hadn't encountered before but at the same time was not at all comfortable and made Watson aware. If these more sexual message parlors are common in our society I would think quite a few men have gone into one thinking their behavior would be understood only to be quickly reprimanded by the masseuse as the man realizes he is not in one of those parlors. If anything, this Watson story and the news in Georgia area really just shining light on this industry. One that I am completely naïve about.

Maybe that's part of the reason he wanted out of Houston? He was starting to get the sense he had made too many mistakes around town and needed a fresh start hoping none of this would catch up to him. It never really made sense to me that he signs his huge extension AFTER they trade away Hopkins and then he has an epiphany that the organization is a train wreck and he demands a trade.

Emmanuel Sanders 2021-22 predictions
Sammy Watkins' Rib replied to Milanos Milano's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'd like to see Beasley, Davis and Sanders all around 700 yards a piece. Maybe one of them becomes the clear number 2 and can get close to 1,000 yards. Based on the most current season? Yes he is. Sanders didn't play with 32 year old Drew Brees. -
WFT signs Curtis Samuel - 3 years, $34.5 million

There's definitely different types of speed. See Tyreek Hill vs. DK Metcalf.
-
I think there is a difference between straight line speed which Brown has and putting pressure on a team vertically vs. sideline to to sideline speed and putting pressure on a team horizontally. But really, if we are looking to add purely speed our best bet was probably always going to be the draft. So we'll see how important that is.

Sanders is a more versatile WR. You don't get to the reception and yardage totals Sanders has without being more of an all around WR IMO. Sanders has played in about 62% more games than Brown but has over 100% more receptions and 82% more receiving yards. So he's been far more productive on a per game basis. Sanders will also be able to fill in more equally to Beasley's role should Beasley become an injury risk. And even fill in for Diggs for a couple games to a degree. I think more versatility is what Beane is looking for on the roster. I really liked Agholor for the Bills. But yeah, Agholor is making much more because he's got far more tread left on his tires.
-
Some people honestly thing Brown is a run all the routes WR? Lee Evans had a 1,000 yard season. He wasn't a run all the routes WR either. Wait till they see Sanders. Sanders is like a cross between Beasley and Diggs. He won't take the top off like Brown could in his prime but he's much more versatile.
-
He's toast. Older, smallish speed guy that isn't physical. And not a great route runner. Bills should have utilized McKenzie more in the playoffs. He couldn't have performed worse than Brown.

Bills sign Emmanuel Sanders
Sammy Watkins' Rib replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I really like this signing. Totally different player than John Brown. A more complete WR than Brown. Age is a concern but damn, the guy is still producing. He should be able to fill in and run a lot of the routes that Beasley runs as well as some of the routes that Diggs runs. He's great insurance for both. This probably means McKenzie isn't coming back? Bring in Zach Ertz somehow and draft a speedy WR and I think we are set on offense. -
They don't have a QB so I would go with Eagles version as well. But I like Agohlor a lot. Really wanted him for the Bills but was thinking/hoping more like 8-9 million per year. I think he would have had a career year here in Buffalo which would have been a good thing for us since he's coming off a career year in Las Vegas.

Predict the Bills first free agent signing
Sammy Watkins' Rib replied to Bag of Milk's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Feels like a WR is most likely. Brown is gone. Roberts is gone. McKenzie is officially a FA I think the first signing is a WR. Either McKenzie or some other WR. -
Taysom Hill gets $140 million over 4 years

Seriously. 10% chance he is on the Saints roster in 2022?
