  1. I'd be less concerned if we didn't put up 6 against the Jags. But after that game I could definitely see the Pats holding the Bills out of the end zone and walking away with an ugly win. See how our offense looks in these next couple of games and hopefully we will be clicking still going into the Pats game.
  2. I think if the Bills end up with the #1 season Allen probably has a 75% chance of winning MVP. Otherwise he'll have to put up crazy numbers in the second half of the season. Right now it feels like the MVP is still very much up for grabs for about 8-10 players all depending on how the second half of the season goes.
  3. Unfortunately one of the teams that looks like it is getting better each week right now is the Patriots. But almost all of the other contending AFC teams has put up multiple ugly games where they were favorites. Despite their record and victory against us, the Titans actually don't concern me nearly as much as the Patriots do.
  4. I don't believe it is a case of the Bills not showing up. It's a case of the Bills offense having legitimate issues. The first half the week prior against the Dolphins was essentially the entire game against the Jags. I'm not confident this offense has fixed it's issues even after today's game but my concerns have nothing to do with effort.
  5. Bills weren’t blown out. Even if it may have felt like it. They were similarly devastating losses. Fellow MVP favorite Stafford played as badly or worse than Allen based on passer rating and QBR.
  6. Boy was I pissed after this loss. Then I noticed how f’ed up this week was and how screwy the season has been in general. This week alone two of the darlings of the NFC are absolutely humiliated at home. The Chiefs offense still sucks. The Bills offense tells the Chiefs offense, not so fast, hold my beer. And we’ve already seen the Chargers get dismantled by the Ravens, Ravens dismantled by the Bengals and the Bengals lose to the Jets and get dismantled by the Browns the following week who put up 41 points on the road a week after only mustering 10 at home. The Titans defense put the clamps down on the Rams this week but couldn’t figure out how to stop the worst offense in the league when they played the Zach Wilson led Jets. Welcome to parity.
  7. Even though we hate to see it I thought Allen should have ran the hell out of the ball today. It worked in the first quarter for some big gains. Not sure if the Jags adjusted by Allen was under pressure on nearly every pass play. Should have made them pay. It's hard to see this team having long term playoff success without a running game. That's the NFL. Going to have to find a work around. Chiefs were missing at least the same percentage by the time they made it to the Super Bowl.
  8. Mahomes was great the first 3 games this year I believe. Allen was bad the first two and today. In the last 32/34 games their overall numbers are the same. As I said, I expect them to go back and forth for a while.
  9. For sure. It's still a long season though. This year has been so bizarre. I'd say Stafford should be the favorite and i doubt he relinquishes the lead going forward. But the way the season has gone who knows. Seems every QB has had a massively disappointing game so far expect for Stafford maybe.
  10. ? I mean nice troll job @Dopey. Would you have posted in this thread if Allen had a good game? Where was your comment in this thread before today's game? And as bad as today's game was I doubt it has a huge effect on on the last 32 /34 games. Only thing I can say is the Bills offense absolutely is out of sink in the last two games. Really out of sorts in 6 of the last 8 quarters. Much like the Chiefs have been for most the season. One of the common denominators for both teams is bad o-line play. Terrible o-line play in the Bills case.
  11. No doubt. But this isn't really a discussion about their careers. The discussion is off the heels of Greg Cosell's comments transitioning from Allen being the most physically gifted QB to Allen perhaps being the best QB in the league. Previously Cosell would always throw in that while he thought Allen was the most physically gifted, he wasn't sure where he ranked in terms of the best QB's in the game. Cosell hasn't come out just quite yet and declared Allen the best in the league but it feels like he is getting really close. He, probably like most Bills fans, realize Allen can take it up several more notches from where he is currently. Sort of mind boggling when you think about how well he has played the last season and half. The previous 32 or 34 starts where Allen in terms of the most simplified QB metric, is equal or better than Mahomes is just one data tool that helps justify the changing opinion of Allen from a physically gifted QB to perhaps the best QB in the league. The best QB in the league is not always the QB with the most rings, the most recent super bowl champion or even the most hardware. Rodgers has widely been considered the best QB in the league over the majority of the last 10 seasons despite being 0-10 in making the Super Bowl in those 10 seasons. I would also say Peyton was the best early in his career but Peyton had zero rings and Brady had 3.
  12. One of the takeaways I come away with from their passer rating being identical through 32 starts is how foolish most of the media and other fan bases sound when they declare that Allen was terrible is first two years. Yet this 32 game stretch has a significant chunk of games from his 2019 season, half the season in fact. So a quarter of the games from the 32 game sample are from a time when Josh Allen was terrible according to most of the media and many from other fanbases.
  13. They're not jokes. They are just one of many ways to quantify a QB's success or lack of. Same as TD's, total yards, turnovers and completion percentage. Of the four you mentioned I believe Mahomes leads in all four of them over Allen unless we throw in rushing/receiving TD's. Of course, turnovers is one you don't want to lead in. We can look at the individual metrics by themselves but I don't see how that makes the comparison any more or less clear. I believe the poster is still correct.🤪
  14. Or Allen get's the W because he outplayed his counter part on the other side of the field. When they got into the red zone Allen didn't make the critical mistake. Settled for FG's but still got the points. When Lamar got in the red zone he made a critical error that cost his team not just 4 points as an incompletion would have but 14 with a pick six. Both QB's played in the same elements and I'd say both QB's played pretty comparable defenses. The narrative can always be spun multiple ways. QB Wins is definitely an imperfect stat at best if it even is one.
  15. That Mahomes has reached his ceiling and plateaued shouldn't be too surprising. His career arch might end up looking very much like Dan Marino's. Only question might be can Mahomes win a handful of rings. Mahomes 2018 season was one for the ages. Marino only put up one season like that in his career, Peyton two, with 9n years and two teams between such seasons. And it looks like Brady might be putting together his second such season which will be 14 years and two teams between such seasons. We are talking about 15-20 year careers for these QB's and they've only done it once or twice. It won't be a surprise at all if Mahomes never puts up another season like his '18 season again. I'm not sure we will ever see another player with the sustained efficiency of Aaron Rodgers. But even with all his greatness as a QB, Rodgers only has one ring and one super bowl appearance to show for it. So much more goes into winning it all.
  16. You get 23 games for each and 105.8 rating for Josh and 103.3 rating for Mahomes. I looked into this just for fun. I am happily surprised to see that we can go all the way back to the middle of the 2019 season well before Josh became an elite QB and we still get Josh having a slight edge in passer rating over Mahomes. That said this is not some sort of confirmation on so and so QB is definitely the best. But it certainly shows there is a case to be made for Allen in the discussion and that is certainly what Greg Cosell sees now. But strictly passer rating wise Rodgers is well above everyone in the league over the last 32 starts around 107 and Wilson is above Mahomes and Allen as well around 105. Read this and was confused. I read the post first before the username. LOL.
  17. Off the heels of Greg Cosell expanding on his "Josh Allen is the most physically gifted QB" opinion to "Josh Allen might be the best QB in the NFL" I thought I would go back and see how Allen and Mahomes, the QB that has been universally been viewed as the best QB since the 2018 season, compare over X amount of games. I eventually got to the last 32 regular season starts for both Allen and Mahomes. A nice number since this represents two traditional full seasons of games for each player. And oddly enough the two are tied exactly at 102.3 passer rating over there last 32 starts. Mahomes last 32 starts Allen last 32 starts And actually if you go back 34 games for each player Allen just squeaks out a better passer rating of 101.9 to Mahomes 101.3 Beyond 34 games Mahomes over takes Allen and doesn't relinquish the lead. You get into the early part of the 2019 season where Mahomes started on fire in September and Allen had maybe his worst game of his career against the Patriots in that same month. Mahomes big dip to start the season this year certainly has helped Allen to catch Mahomes in the last 34 games. But Allen also had his own struggles early in this season in the first two games. And as Bills fans watching the games we've also seen many missed opportunities in the red zone where the Bills have not fully been clicking yet on offense despite the Bills leading the league in scoring. I'd expect these two to pretty much be neck and neck in passer rating going forward for their careers.
  18. They do two things you shouldn't due to Allen. Blitz (zero blitz at that with 8 defenders all in the box) Man to man coverage
  19. Happened at least twice in the Dolphins game that I recall. Cool thing was I was in the stands (first time at a home game since 2007) so it was easier to see who was in the game and who was on the sidelines at the same time. I can't recall run or pass though. Would be kind of foolish to go three wide with a particular grouping and always run though. I believe it is a "thing" but not to the extent that we will see it more than a handful of times in a game.
  20. Maybe I missed it but I haven't seen it mentioned. It seems like in the last few weeks we have increasingly seen the trio of Kumerow, Davis and McKenzie get playing time together while all three of Diggs, Sanders and Beasley are on the sideline. It's interesting to me that rather than say plug one of the B team guys in with two of the A team guys are vice versa it seems like the game plan has been to just roll out two completely different trio of receivers. No idea if the idea is to just rest all three of the A team receivers at the same time or if it is to run completely different plays with the B team. Maybe give the B team guys confidence in their ability to be legitimate playmakers on their own and help their growth? Maybe this is more common then I realize around the league but I can't recall the Bills ever running receiver personnel like this in the past.
  21. Some bad takes here buy Simms IMO. I think he is greatly underrating Beasley's ability with the once every five games line. I think Beasely's production is down this year because of the personnel we now use and the game planning. But yesterday proved he can still be a dominant move the chains type of go to receiver. I expect his numbers for the second half of the year to be way up. What the Bills need is strong running game like the Packers but that is easier said then done. The receivers are fine.
  22. Allen’s overall numbers through 7 games I think are nearly identical to what they were last year. Even the teams win/loss record is the same. Rushing yardage I think being way up this year compared to last year though. I think it is a case of many more QB’s stepping up their play to a high level this year along with more of them being on 1 and 2 loss teams.
  23. Awesome. I knew he was in town but wasn’t sure if they would allow him inside the stadium. But figured heck if his name is still on it then they got to let him in.
  24. Was he really at the game?
