Bills have underperformed this year by 2+ wins
Sammy Watkins' Rib replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall
I’m not sure what the league average is in one score games but it’s most certainly not O-5 or anywhere close to that. It’s probably somewhere close to 2-3 or 40%. Yeah if the bills just somehow found a way to win two out of their 51 score games they’d be leading the conference. That’s not asking the world of the team. We can likely view this as a positive going into next season in that it’s unlikely they will duplicate a 0–5 record in the same games. -
Ideal playoff time slot?
Sammy Watkins' Rib replied to Bills fan since 87's topic in The Stadium Wall
It always ends up depending on whether or not the bills win or lose. Bills win give me the 1 PM Saturday game because then you get to enjoy all the other games. But if the bills are going to lose I would rather it be the Sunday or Monday night game. Bills have gotten the 1 PM Saturday time slot two consecutive years now I believe. I think if we end up drawing the patriots I don’t see them putting us in the 1 PM Saturday slot. Anyone know if the Monday night winner could be forced to play as early as the following Saturday? That would be a huge disadvantage. But I think the NFL would have to somehow find a way to make sure the Monday night winner plays Sunday. -
Take the Patriots game for example though. On his long 25 yard run he could have gone down a lot earlier and not hit by anyone. Instead he gets tackled by two or three players.

Burrow NOT playing Sunday - per Burrow
Sammy Watkins' Rib replied to Big Blitz's topic in The Stadium Wall
Got to be believe JaMarr Chase will not dress too. Drop from Burrow to Brandon Allen much greater then the drop from Mayfield to Keemun. Neither team really playing for anything. How many regulars end up sitting for the Browns? Could go either way for sure. -
In defense of Josh 3 pix and low qbr
Sammy Watkins' Rib replied to First Round Bust's topic in The Stadium Wall
That's what happens on tips though. Hyde and Poyer are always talking about tips and over throws and picking them off. We can't just say it was bad luck. The chance of bad luck was created by throwing a bad pass within the defenders reach. Whether it was a force or Allen didn't manipulate the LB with his eyes doesn't really matter both are bad plays. -

Gonna have to agree to disagree I guess. -
Washington and Dallas both kind of paved the way for what could likely happen for Jackson. Just franchise tag him if you are still not 100% sold he won't continue to regress or stay healthy. If he is your guy then he is your guy and the Ravens should pay him accordingly but if they have their doubts the franchise tag is there for a reason. Baker probably isn't worth the franchise tag unless he really steps up his game. He's likely looking at a new team after next season. Now if he has like a 4000+ yard 30 TD season then I could see them tagging him for a year. Makes as much sense as your Miami is going to win the division takes these last two years. Which is to say, no sense at all.

Well you didn't blame Allen for the INT. So I assume that mean you do not credit him for some of his TD's? That seems confusing. -

And he gets credit when they are TD's and credit when they are INTs. I don't see a problem with that. -

Another example yet again why QBR is in fact not garbage like most seem to think. People always pointing out those odd and rare examples where scrub QB with 100 yards passing has a better QBR then the guy with 300 yards and 3 TD's. When really those are just exceptions to the norm. And we get easily just as many crazy instances where passer rating does not show the true picture of a QB's performance. The first one is on definitely on Allen. Tip balls lead to INTs. Not all the time but it increases the chance for one. Allen forced a ball he shouldn't have. The second tipped ball INT wasn't a force throw by Allen. So either a great defensive play or ball that Allen just didn't quite put high enough. -
33% for Patriots seems low. Feel like that should be about 50%

I thought Allen was a more careful runner last year. Avoiding contact more and sliding early. This year it seems like there has been way more plays where Allen is trying to get every yard. That may be in part why his YPR is so much higher this year. But it would be nice to see Allen take care of himself a little in the regular season. In the playoffs? Screw it, go balls to the wall.

If the Colts lose to the Jaguars on Sunday...
Sammy Watkins' Rib replied to HappyDays's topic in The Stadium Wall
I actually expect that Colts /Jaguars game to be a lot closer than most would think. But ultimately I would expect the Jaguars to come up short. -
Career-worst single-game passer rating
Sammy Watkins' Rib replied to Shaw66's topic in The Stadium Wall
Newsflash. Given who Allen is as a quarterback to not expect him to have eventually the lowest or near lowest passer rating for a superstar quarterback would be unreal unrealistic. The same things that make him a superstar quarterback or the same things that will lead to under 20 past her ratings. But he’s not a one trick pony as evidence to his 60 QBR for his last game. One can argue the merits of QBR but we all saw the game with our own eyes. Allen was a beast on the ground. So I’m not surprised he came out with a respectable QBR. -
If all of that happened Allen would be running away with the MVP regardless of the 3 INTs against Atlanta. I would say last week both were equally impressive. For Allen to do it on the road against the top defense in a big-time game. And that says a whole lot when the other quarterback threw for over 500 yards and four touchdowns. But the last two weeks, definitely not.
-
Agreed. Allen was still in it up to this last game. But he needed to peek in his last two. 8+ touchdowns and only a couple turnovers and he’d be in it still. But that didn’t happen. Burrow had a great game last week against the ravens but most people took that with a grain of salt because the ravens were basically playing with their practice squad defense. But to back up last weeks game with the game he just had was pretty big. You can’t peak more than Burrow has these last two weeks.

Odd take. It’s not illegal in the NFL for a quarterback to move the ball on the ground and score touchdowns on the ground. Joshua was still the best quarterback on the field. It wasn’t really even close. It’s not like Matt Ryan was having a good day through the air.And when Ryan did try to show off his mobility he was flagged for two penalties. Bad passing day for Allan? Yes. Bad day at the office overall for Allan? No, not really. It’s good to have a quarterback that’s not a one trick pony. Majority of quarterbacks put those kind of numbers up through the air their team is not putting up 29 points.

The triple header last year on Saturday and Sunday was the best. Wish the NFL would stick with that.

I'm thrilled it is looking like the Chiefs are going to have to play three games to get to the Super Bowl. They've had it way to easy these last few postseasons. And I guess a Chiefs vs. Chargers rematch is the most likely 2 vs. 7 match right now?

Would love to see the Raiders in the playoffs. Would also love to somehow match up with them in the wild card round.

Shows how incredibly under rated his running ability is. Terrible passing today but absolutely dominant running. Huge in the first quarter. And then big again in the third quarter converting crucial third downs. Few QBs in this league can have an overall okay game with passing number like Josh had today.
