  1. They were the best team last year as well. The two best teams in the conference were still the Bills and the Chiefs. But any given Sunday as they say. Any given Sunday in the regular season lead to the Bills and Chiefs facing off in the Divisional round rather than a later meeting in the Conference Championship game. That allowed the Bengals to only have to knock off one of the top two teams instead of both to advance to the Super Bowl. This year the Bills need to not screw around in the regular season and lock up the #1 seed. They are not the best team by a wide margin but they have the best opportunity to lock up the #1 seed by a wide margin.
  2. Hopefully he is a much better version of Keyshawn then.
  3. Hmm. I get that you could do worse than Keyshawn Johnson but you can do a good deal better as well. I'd hope he would be more like Mike Evans.
  4. Maybe trade back into the late first round then? The team is in win now mode. Land two day one starters in this draft both with cheap rookie deals and the 5th year option. It would cost us our first round pick next year and bit more but it gets us that extra win now player immediately rather then waiting another year to get that guy.
  5. Yep. And in an ideal world we would trade Diggs for a couple of early draft picks. Won't get the haul that the Chiefs got for Hill but even a second round pick and say a third or fourth round pick in a future draft would be something. Now if Diggs wants to sign a truly team friendly extension of only like 3 years $45 million with potential out after the 2024 season in which he would turn 32 during the 2025 season I'd be all for an extension. But the Bills will need serious flexibility.
  6. To date, Josh's rookie season, he put up arguably the greatest stretch of rushing prowess a QB ever put up. Only Mike Vick put up comparable numbers over a six game stretch. Somehow people didn't factor that in to his overall success and ability in his first season. And his second season was a dramatic improvement in passing efficiency while still be a top 5 or even top 3 QB with his legs.
  7. Seems the OP forgot the word "not" in their title. Can we get a mod edit?
  8. Breece Hall going at #55 two picks before the Bills pick would have half this board on the edge of their sofa.
  9. LMAO. Before I opened the thread the first guy that came to mind was Ocho Cinco.
  10. I'm hoping Beane makes an in-season deal. Start the season, season what our weaknesses and injuries are and make an in-season move to fill the biggest hole. Kind of like what the Rams did with Von Miller last year.
  11. NFC has won back to back Super Bowls. The NFC an AFC have differed quite a bit in their parity since the 2000 season. Over the those 22 seasons the NFC has had 12 teams (counting the St.Louis/LA Rams as one team) represent the conference in the super bowl. The AFC has only had 8 teams; the Patriots, Steelers, Colts, Broncos, Ravens, Chiefs, Raiders and Bengals. The Bengals and Raiders being the only two team with a single appearance. Even less parity when you factor in starting QB's since Peyton accounts for all four super bowl appearances for the Broncos and Colts in that time frame. The AFC holds the winning record over that time frame 13-9. Maybe the rest of the decade will be a reversal of the mid 80's to mid 90's where the AFC will start dominating the NFC.
  12. I know Allen has only been in the league for four years so it's a small sample size but I don't think there's a single WR/TE that has left Allen and gone on to have a better statistical season without Allen. And yeah, Brown, Beasley and Diggs all had their career best seasons with Allen and these were guys that played in the league a combined 17 years before teaming up with Allen.
  13. How about something for the west coast fans? You probably can't swing it but a big event at the Allen ranch during harvesting seasons would be cool. I'm sure Allen would be down. Bills fans and players could volunteer their time to pick the crops. Have a big BBQ at the ranch after. That is if the Allen's are still doing row picking crops and haven't transitioned fully into almonds and pistachios'.
  14. This is how you build a championship team.
  15. Yep. Diggs will be 30 I think entering the 2023 season and carry a $18M cap hit and a dead cap of only $4M I think. Do we sign him to an extension into his 30’s to lower his cap hit or trade him for a couple of early draft picks?
  16. But that just means the contracts go even higher. It doesn’t help a team like the Bills. The rebuilding teams with QBs on rookie contracts will always have significantly more money to spend on free agents and trade and sign contracts.
  17. McKenzie is still a big mystery. I'd pencil Crowder in as the #3 for now based on his experience. I expect a big jump in snaps for McKenzie but I think Crowder will probably out snap him over the course of the entire season if he stays healthy.
  18. I don't see how we will be able to afford him at an $18M cap hit at the age of 30 and when we will have to pay Allen and Miller big money. A time when WR production typically starts to decline. That said, we may be able to work some magic with a 2 or 3 year extension and get his 2023 cap hit down below $10M. His dead cap would only be $4M for 2023 so he would absolutely be a cut candidate from a balance sheet perspective. A lot would depend on how he does this year and how Davis looks.
  19. Gonna have some big cap hits next year with Allen and Miller. Roughly $58M or so for just those two players next year compared to only $21M this year for both.
  20. Good thing we still play the Jets twice a year!
  21. You and I have a different criteria for phenomenal. Don't confuse a crap load of touches (most in the league) with a phenomenal season. Harris was bad in nearly every measure. He was around 40th or so in the league in both yard per carry and yards per reception for Rb's with over 100 carries on the season.
  22. #25 Hate to have to say it but definitely a CB #57 Romeo Doubs WR Nevada = Stephon Diggs 2.0
  23. For reference 9 sacks a year for the next three years would rank him third overall for pass rushers of his age in the last 22 seasons. Miller is good enough to do it but it's far from a guarantee. There are some future HOF'ers and HOF'ers in the table in the link below that didn't sniff 7 sacks a year. Stathead: Pass rushers aged 33-35 since 2000
