Bills are 8-2 for the first time in over 30 years
Sammy Watkins' Rib replied to Einstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
I look at the Chiefs the same way to be honest and yet they are 9-0. But they don't look like a dominating team. Their point differential certainly doesn't scream dominant. Bills sometimes look like a dominating team. Ravens feel like the best team in the conference and they have 3 losses. -
Yeah i think they will lose one or two before their 16th game.

I think we can officially win the division next week

Or 15 losses. -
Agreed. They will most certainly bench and rest as many as possible week 18 if they are 16-0 going into that game against Denver. And Denver may need that game to secure a wild card spot.
-
How they haven't dropped two games already is shocking. They are good but they are not undefeated level good. They will drop at least one if not two before the playoffs.

NFL officiating is broken. How do we fix it?
Sammy Watkins' Rib replied to Logic's topic in The Stadium Wall
Because one situation is dealing with a runner the other is dealing with a loose ball and player trying to gain possession of the ball. If I follow your questioning right, it really has nothing to do with whether or not the ball crosses the end zone in the case of the receiver. It's about whether the possession of the ball was gained (feet in bounds with ball secured and not bobbled/moving) by the receiver. If the receiver has possession of the ball and then crosses the plane of the endzone it would be a TD. But I think you are questioning plays where it is determined the receiver has not been ruled to have possession. It's still a loose ball. -

Yes, i hear them say that in reference to the contact that is also being made. Hence, if you turn around and make contact, less likely to draw a flag. -
His season was over a couple weeks ago.

Turning and playing the ball lets the DB get away with contact. You don’t like that rule? You just want them to make contact without attempting to make a play on the ball? -

It is already in the rules that Defender doesn’t have to turn around. He just can’t make contact while not turning around. That’s fair no? recall week 1 against the Cardinals. Ingram had plenty of contact but turned around and attempted play on ball so no call despite Cardinals fans complaints -

IMO, the sky judge is a rabbit hole the NFL should not be going down. In theory it is good but it sets the league up to look like it is rigged as soon as they don't use it to overturn an obvious missed or bad call. We have already seen that this season once or twice. The answer should be allowing the teams and coaches to review plays instantly with a guy dedicated for that up in the team booth. That way the onus is on the team to decide a call worth correcting. The team can't get jobbed by the sky judges random selection of plays to review. -
Best End of Season Scenario for Bills
Sammy Watkins' Rib replied to Rich Stadium Original's topic in The Stadium Wall
Bills lose one more game to the Lions in regular season finish 14-3. But still only get the two seed, KC (16-1). Wild Card: Host Bengals W Divisional: Host Ravens W AFCCG: @ 1 loss Chiefs W Super Bowl: vs. 1 loss Lions W Greatest post season run/gauntlet defeated ever? -
It's football. Did he play on Sunday's and produce? Of course he did.

Disagree on the "full time" official thing. What does that even mean? Are they going to do NFL scrimmage games in spring and summer? They are highly compensated already. And believe me, as a High School football official these guys put in the work year round in terms of study both in the book and film. I see it at the high school level. The study is even greater at the NFL level I am sure too. One and one thing only will fix officiating. Letting coaches challenge bad calls. The thing is, fans have to accept that it will only be the egregiously bad calls that will be overturned. On some flags, multiple refs can have their eyes on the same play and have three different opinions on it. Those are not the kind of flags that will be overturned or thrown. Coaches won't be able to throw flags challenging a ticky tack non call on a PI and expect it to be overturned. The NFL experimented with this a while back too. Was it like 8 - 10 years ago? -
That's not new. Refs keep their flags in their pocket for a lot penalties that don't affect the play. Especially holding. Like if a d-lineman is held after the ball is already thrown. Or backside hold on a running play that is already well beyond the hold. Now face mask. That should technically be called every time regardless of where in the play it happens and to who.

Season Predictions at the Half-way point
Sammy Watkins' Rib replied to Ethan in Cleveland's topic in The Stadium Wall
Let’s hope for a better game plan than that. lol yes. They also have raiders, Browns and home against the Colts. Home against the Falcons isn’t that daunting. Chiefs is week 18. Almost zero percent chance Chiefs are playing most of their starters in that game. -
That is an odd worry. He currently has an injured wrist. You were worried that we would trade for a healthy WR with historically very little injury history and that he would all of a sudden be injured here and not be available? I mean, do we not expect him back at the latest after the bye week? And he could still be back this week or next we don't even know. Just really weird to be worried about a player who does not have much of an injury history.

Season Predictions at the Half-way point
Sammy Watkins' Rib replied to Ethan in Cleveland's topic in The Stadium Wall
I have Steelers, Chargers and Broncos as WC teams. Chargers and Broncos look like automatic WC teams becuase they both have pretty easy schedules down the stretch. Steelers, question is how good are they? If they are legit good they could split with Baltimore and actually take the North division. At very worst they finish 3-6 down the stretch and still take the 7 seed with a 7-5 conference record meaning they lose no more than 4 conference games here on out. -

Baltimore's defense is BAD. Problem is we failed miserably in taking advantage of their biggest weakness in our match up. If somehow Bills can maintain homefield against Ravens in the playoffs I like our offenses chances much more in a rematch against the Ravens. They will have to score a lot obviously because Ravens are going to move the ball. -
They will get to 10 wins which is four more wins. They would have to go 3-6 down the back half to finish 9-8. Even then, 9-8 this year likely takes the 7 seed. But they are a good football team. It is a tough schedule but they can on paper win all those games. They can also lose all those games although you figure at minimum they would split with Browns. So it will be somewhere in between they will go 5-4 or 4-5 down the stretch. I actually think they beat Washington this weekend. They probably end up splitting with the Ravens because it's Ravens/Steelers and isn't that always how the series goes? Weeks 17 and 18 could be two home games against teams playing for nothing and playing some sort of combination of back ups.

His stats will be great but so will be Goff's. Goff has a chance to set the single season completion percentage record on a Lions team that might go 16-1 or at worst 15-2. Lions look like a shoe - in for the one seed. I'm not convinced the Ravens will be able to even get the two seed in the AFC with their defense. I'd expect at least two more losses for them on the year which would finish them as 12-5 at best. Could be hard to win the MVP over Goff and a 16-1 or 15-2 Lions team. I think some voters could be over Lamar too. Given the option of Goff or Jackson I would think / hope voters would give it to someone new.
