Lamar is absolutely an MPV candidate. Would be silly to suggest he is not. Folks also need to remember that the MVP is almost entirely dependent on team record. There will be multiple QB's this year with eye popping numbers. There will only be two that finish as the number one seed in their conference. Which ever two QB's those are they will have the best shot at winning MVP. Last year it was Rodgers and Tannehill. Obviously Tannehill was not going to win it so Rodgers had a huge leg up on everyone else. So far through only 3 games it looks like Hurts, Allen and Jackson will be those three players with great numbers and vying for the #1 seed. A sneaky good pick if you are looking outside the top 3 right now would be Trever Lawrence. The Jags have a huge game this week at the Eagles but if they get a W there I think Lawrence could really start making a case for himself. And if the Jags can sweep their lowly division that would go a long way to earning a top seed. I'd also never count out Mahomes but they'll have to turn things around and finish with the number 1 seed. I still think they play in the toughest division so I don't see that happening.

Dolphins Fans Reactions to Tua’s Injury
Sammy Watkins' Rib replied to Rigotz's topic in The Stadium Wall
A lot of the Ariza reaction also fell along the lines of "he's just a punter" responses. Tua is not looked upon as the franchise for half that fan base. He's expendable. Many Miami fans would likely cut ties with Tua before Mike McDaniel if they had to make a choice. And McDaniel has only been at the helm for 4 games. Very much a different situation in Buffalo where Allen has become this entire organization. That said, I would like to think I would also lay into McDermott and Beane if Allen were put in a similar situation. And Allen is the ultimate competitor, it's probably just a matter of time before those boundaries are tested and hopefully the Bills organization makes the right decision. -
Week 4: Bills at Ravens 10/2 1pm

Dude, it wasn't the coin flip against the Chiefs. It was the 13 seconds meltdown. Can tell you are a new member here. -
LOL. He's had one epic quarter out of 14 quarters of football. In other words, in the 13 of the 14 quarters of football he has played this year he has looked exactly like 2021 Tua. Take away the single best quarter of football from the 2022 season so far for Allen, Hurts and Jackson and those three QB's are still having great seasons. Take away Tua's best single best quarter and he is having an average season at best. Maybe even below average.

If the system is set up so that the player just simply has to lie or be untruthful about what they are feeling then the entire concussion protocol system is flawed. As a doctor your eyes and training see one thing but your patient (the player) tells you contradictory information. What is a doctor to do?

Dolphins @ Bengals - TNF Game Thread
Sammy Watkins' Rib replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall
The Bengals defense is a mixed bag thus far. Hard to gauge them properly with the level of offenses they have played which includes a lot of back up level QB's. At the same time the offense has really put them in bad situations most of the season with all of the sacks taken and giveaways. As of now, they are slightly ahead of where they were in ranking last year in terms of ppg and ypg given up. -
No idea where Tua's career goes from here. But to me Tua is two things. Injury prone and when not on the field just, meh. The guy has had one great quarter this season. Out of about 13 or 14 quarters he has played. 13 of the 14 quarters he has played this season he has looked exactly like the 2021 Tua. A Tua that simply isn't good enough and a Tua that had the entire Miami organization wanting to bring in Brady or Deshaun Watson. He has one epic quarter and he suddenly is viewed as a better QB now. Never made any sense.

Dolphins @ Bengals - TNF Game Thread
Sammy Watkins' Rib replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall
they don’t need to get rid of it. But why the nfl hasn’t expanded the season one extra week by giving every team two bye weeks makes no sense to me. It’s a home run for the NFL. They could make Thursday night games both safe and a better product by ensuring every team plays Thursday night off of a bye week. And also squeeze out more dollars in the extra primetime games that would be aired. -
Not sure if it has been covered but through 3 weeks Allen leads the league in passing yards and leads his team in rushing yards. Not sure anyone has ever done that before through 3 games. Also, Allen and as well as Hurts are on pace to shatter the single season total yards record. Will be interesting to see where each finishes the season.

Get The Ball Spotted Ref!
Sammy Watkins' Rib replied to MarlinTheMagician's topic in The Stadium Wall
Bass wasn’t making a 60+ yard field goal. We needed the extra yards. And I believe in that scenario we’re looking at like a 63 or 65 yard field goal. -

Get The Ball Spotted Ref!
Sammy Watkins' Rib replied to MarlinTheMagician's topic in The Stadium Wall
OP, I think you are correct that they could have gotten the spike with 10 seconds left. Problem is, McKenzie pops up with 8 seconds left. McKenzie is very much still running with the ball at the 10 second mark. I disagree though that Bass would have made it from 60. If you watch the video I think you can conclude the Bills would have spiked it just in time if they had 10 seconds. But they had 8 seconds by the time McKenzie gets up. In fact, McKenzie is on one knee in the act of getting up at 8 seconds. -
Gonna state the obvious here but.......

NFL Week #3 - Bills at the Dolphins - Post game thread
Sammy Watkins' Rib replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
Good question. I believe they would have brought the ball back to where he fumbled and not where it went out of bounds. Not sure about the clock. Maybe a 10 second run off. Either way best case scenario would have been a 65 yard FG if he intentionally fumbles it at the 47. -

Of all the receivers we still had Diggs was in the worst shape. Bills had zero time outs. But we did have a lot of time on the clock when the drive started. Especially only needing a FG. -

Sammy Watkins' Rib replied to Kwai San's topic in The Stadium Wall
It would have been 65 yarder if he went down immediately at the 47 yard line. Better than nothing? Yes. But I don't blame him for trying to get a few more yards. He likely could have ran straight out of bounds after he turned up field to the 45 but again, that would have only netted about two yards though and still looking at a 63 yarder. I don't fault him for trying to cut it up field to get to a more manageable 59 or 60 yarder. I don't know that I fault Allen not going to the sidelines early in the drive as we had a ton of time and only needed a FG. But that final play the ball needed to go somewhere other than the middle of the field. -

Need to start utilizing Knox more
Sammy Watkins' Rib replied to Chicagobills's topic in The Stadium Wall
Knox's breakout year last year was heavily dependent on TD's. TD's are simply not a good predicter of future success as opposed to total receptions and yards. It was always a risk that we would make Knox one of the highest paid TE's but that his production would be in the 10-15th best TE range. I certainly hope we can get more out of him as the season goes on. -
This game exposed we rely to much on Josh again
Sammy Watkins' Rib replied to 78thealltimegreat's topic in The Stadium Wall
Story of the Bills since the start of last year. Everyone executes on nearly every drive and they win by 10+. If that doesn't happen they lose by one score. -
This place is so cathartic after losses.
Sammy Watkins' Rib replied to BIGFOOTspaceman's topic in The Stadium Wall
It would hurt a lot less and we could take the loss and complaints with a grain of salt if the Bills were not 0-6 in one score games before this game. Also, this team has some serious short yardage issues that they need to figure out. They were bad last week in a blow out victory in those situations and maybe even worse this week.
