Leading the Charge
The BLUES Brothers replied to TheyCallMeAndy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That could be cool - Flutie gave such a spark when we needed it then....Funny - just today I showed my son an old box of Flutie Flakes that was buried in the basement - no contents just the box and I was going to let it go and he said we should keep it. What would also be amazing is if The trio of Bruce, Thurman, and Reed came back together since it was tough when they were all let go same time back in the day. We could also ask Frank Reich but he might get in some hot water missing game time from his own team -
NFL Draft matchmaker.....Adam Schein

This was someone I thought was out of reach and wanted us to get after Gil-no-more bailed...but thanks as I wasn't aware our defense may not be great fit and still the concerns that his hammy could really pose issues. Then again - there were concerns over Thurman Thomas's knee coming out and he was such a horse for us. -
Thanks for the other places to check out while in Cleveland. I will PM for any insight you can offer. I also did so with the other kind offer in the thread (since he has Crohns) - any and all input is greatly appreciated. We saw Dr. Brezinski when there at Cleveland Clinic last time - the guy was so attentive. Some Doctors whisk you out in 15 minutes - this doctor spent 3 hours with us! The staff was also amazing and helpful - we were there over 5 days in January and the predisone had helped but as he is weaning off of it - it is flaring up again. He is a really good kid (huge Bills fan like his ol' man). It has been very tough for wife and I watching our son losing weight and being in pain, becoming anemic. but after reading the tragedy today with TE Heap's that rips your heart out - we are still blessed to be having great care and we want to beat this sooner than later. From the bottom of my heart Thank you all for the support.

I don't anticipate a problem with the Cleveland fans - since cordial beats confrontation. to that event - when I am at a Bills game - I usually work to be a good will ambassador when sitting by visiting fans - find out where they are traveling from/wish them luck with their season (much easier to do when not division rivals). Certainly it will more fun to watch and root for the pick with other fans though so Very Cool - Thanks All - Buffalo Wild Wings and Townhall sound promising

Someone on the radio had said it is a movie you'll probably never watch twice (and agree with that) but my son is home from college, we never saw it and thought it would be cool since, you know - 'tis the season...it was cool to see real NFL people in it and we wondered if there is that kind of banter that goes on between player and coach and also GM to GM - probably to some degree, right? My son looked up that the testing ploy of the coaches to hide a $100 bill in the back of the playbook was loosely based on a coach putting a blank dvd for Jamarcus Russell to study game film and he claimed he watched it (but obviously lied)... The question is - my son is dealing with a challenging health issue (Crohns Disease/colitis) and we will be traveling out of state to Cleveland (Cleveland Clinic appointments) during the very first 2 days of the NFL draft. We will want to grab dinner and watch with Bills fans if possible. I looked up Bills Backer bars (none listed in Cleveland) and saw an old thread here from 2004 of where in Cleveland might work (Golden Coins, Harpos, Stampers) but hoping there may be better updated info from anyone? Love our team but will probably not wear the Sammy Watkins jersey in there - don't need 2 reasons to be at hospital ;-) I would greatly appreciate if you can let me know if there is any place around there that may be fun to watch. Thanks.

4-12: Sean McDermott on WGR
The BLUES Brothers replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Ha! I agree with Shotgunner that the Coach didn't sound like he wanted to be pressured to take a Defensive Player so could see the big TE. -
Thank you for All the help along the way. RIP

Bills sign DE Ian Seau
The BLUES Brothers replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That's another reason I love this site - I get a text, wonder about the guy, come here and get answers and insight. Kudos and Thank you for the information -
I always wanted Foster then saw a report that during potential team interviews he did not follow along well when they asked him to decipher the Xs and Os of plays. His Coach (Saban) agreed he does not do well with that on paper process but proves his understanding on the field and on film. The coach also pointed out - Foster would (smartly) call out the signals for the defense so maybe it was never required in college but I don't know if an inability to follow along on paper will hamper him in an NFL career. Hooker or Lattimore would be ecstatic for me - yes I need a life ;-)

CB Alterraun Verner - potential Bills FA target

I hope we sign him and Michael Floyd (would love to pull a Belichick move ...on a former Belichick player).... -

Personally, I welcome the opinions of others - I just wish JS wasn't so toxic in his prose. He seems to have a vengance and cares more about being bold than being right or persuasive. Maybe he is right but what if he's wrong? Whaley Has made some helpful moves here and the dagger that often stabs Whaley is that he picked EJ. Two things: 1.) It has been stated that Whaley didn't want EJ that high - wanted to trade down where he felt he would still be but Buddy Nix's last draft was to have a stud QB before he left and BN made the call. 2.) Even though EJ has not panned out - sadly he probably WAS the best QB from the bunch that year. I am a BB Fan and wanted Rex to work out however in retrospect now I am glad he is gone. Maybe someday I will feel the same way about Whaley - however - he has courage to make moves that are intended to bring Talent here where the Coaches are supposed to shape them into the scheme to Win games. If Whaley doesn't speak on behalf of the team - so what?! Do your valued job and get us the best players and do not overspend (we have seen we are doing that this season already where we have 3 WR for the price of one that left (Goodwin). Flame away if you need to but I am off to Mass so can't reply for a while. -
Smart Man that Mr. Wilson and unlike Art Modell, kept the team here as long as possible and beyond... Thanks RCW!

He is a rather fast talking, enterianing speaker. Former Basketball player and ran track to help his speed. He loves to catch but also learned young to block for other receivers to help them score and says he enjoys that part of the game - refreshing take. Small college (Hillsdale College) since he didn't make Division 1 but it made him more responsible and increased his drive by learning from older players, one that was drafted in 3rd round by AZ Cardinals. John Murphy recalled (and I forgot) when he had a 50 yard catch against us - he laughed and said he watches that play a lot. He discussed the contract fiasco and was just watching TV and was surprised when it said he had signed so wanted to let his friends know it wasn't official then but then said he is glad he is a Buffalo Bill. Ready to play any role the coaches ask him to play - sounded humble and was working out prior to the show - is dedicated to be ready for the season. Even if we draft a No 2 in draft - hard not to root for a budding team player like this guy...

Say a prayer for Danny, my son....
The BLUES Brothers replied to Nervous Guy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
When my Dad passed - someone had some words of wisdom that was essentially -"If you keep them alive in your hearts - then they will be with you forever" and those words of solace have brought comfort even in sad grieving. Certainly he will be missed by all that came to know and love him. Thoughts and Prayers are with you during this time of great sorrow. -

I remember being in the stands with fellow TBD brother, Ken for this legendary game when it was not looking good and so glad we stayed to enjoy the comeback. Charles Osgood did a nice motivational piece on it - Wow thank you Google search: http://drchet.com/pdf/2010pdf_30_Pound_Club/07-04-2010--Charles_Osgood_Poem.pdf Let's hope this season is the start of a comeback into contention. -
As referenced - Kiko was a guest caller on the John Murphy show today - spoke very highly of Buffalo Bills fan base. As a Cuban decent - he seemed to like the Miami area. His highlights as a dolphin looked good - but of course they only show the plays he does well at - hoping we can make him look mortal with some blocks from Felton.

Ha Ha -re: dipping into the stash of Mr. Big Puff... Even if No Marcel or Shady in forecast - WGR says we can still use our OL to Pave the Way for RBs to ground and pound them so Buffalo Baumer may have a point. Still surprised that Marquise Goodwin has stayed healthier than our #1 and #2. When will we find out if Dez Lewis is getting the call to play? Would love to see Goodwin, Hunter and Lewis Light up the secondary to keep the Run game active. And Clay of course showing up his old team.

Dolphins lose best defender not named Suh
The BLUES Brothers replied to Dragonborn10's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Watching Incognito interview on John Murphy show yesterday - he said the coach and the OL really love the grinding run defense and said they keep hitting the other team so hard - they knew they'd wear 'em down and get big chunks. You'd have to think that against the Dolphins that we will take what they give us and their porous run defense may mean another week of smash mouth football. Or in Shady's case: Juke until they Puke. ;-) So as much as I believe that TT will have a great 335 Yard Game this season - I think we will keep running it hard. PS I have seen so many bad QBs here over the years - maybe I give TT more credit than he deserves but he has made some great Throws - esp on 3rd downs to extend the Time of Possession and trust he will make Bill-lievers out of more as the season goes on. -
Most impressive Bills win is?
The BLUES Brothers replied to DCbillsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'll vote for yesterday, too. It had all facets of a Winning Team Attitude: Great Running Over 300 Yards was amazing Some Key Passing (3rd down efficiency and TD pass to Hunter, etc) Defense had Big Plays The Stops on 3rd and 4th and 1 that were both Denied were Stellar), and Special Teams had a play in it, too. -
Yes - I am as nervous as a Politician in Church. ( I cleaned it up a bit for the youngsters ;-) Guessing the SF Coaches will have CK try and run the option early to see how good Kap can be at running against us. If we shut that down - he will be forced to use his RBs and Pass more and that reduces both Kap's options as well as how we much differently have to structure our staunch Defense. This would be a Great Week for us to score early and often to take the wind out of their sails before SF finds much rhythm with their new QB. I am a Bills Fan and I support this message.
