Week 8 - Around the NFL (i.e. NOT a Bills thread please)
Franco_92 replied to aristocrat's topic in The Stadium Wall
How has Ramsey looked? -
McDermott actually explicitly said in an interview today that if that 4th down had been 4th and inches he would have gone for it
-
I haven't finished the video, but I like the analysis of the RPO to Davis in the flat that he took for a first down in the red zone. The run element of the play is the classic "muh shotgun draw" everyone hates - dart - which we run with high success. Enough success apparently that the conflict defender goes to shut it down, opening up the play to Davis. This stuff makes so many posters look like clowns

For some reason I read your "had" as "heard" haha
-
Do you mean the crowd reaction live? Were you there? what was it like?
-
Hmmph. Sounds like JT needs to read the Fire Ken Dorsey Thread. Maybe he'll learn a thing or two about ball.

Hell, most players seem to be coming back early from everything. I remember thinking I wasn't going to see Ramsey until I was opening Christmas presents.

Do you think the offense was better yesterday?
Franco_92 replied to Einstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
Sorry for being pedantic. It's definitely true that the offense was better yesterday, and the discrepancy is worth talking about -

I said this earlier, but there was not one single play during the course of the game that you could convince me to say "I wish the situation were reversed and we were in the Buccs' shoes." -

speaking in absolutes about any stat is as bad one way (the stat is perfect, which nobody says) as it is the other way (the stat is useless, which a lot of people say) It's not a useless stat, but like any stat its predictive power becomes much stronger as you increase sample size -
If he weren't on the roster, he would be replaced by a 4th safety that would also be inactive. Anger is fine, but not when it's 85 IQ braying that contaminates every thread and comprises 95% of all new threads

Even just getting Oliver back made a big difference for our DL. It went from being blown back 5 yards off the ball every play to being functional and even good at times. If we can add a DT at the deadline, get ankou up to speed to replace ford, and keep Ed healthy I think we will be alright there, especially if Von gets better.
-
Von going offside was the worst part of the last drive, AINEC.

It looked bad live, but in this clip I don't see a whole lot of egregious play from the Bills. It's a very low percentage play that didn't work. Any flag you could call on the bills could be canceled by what Evans did

There's a chance that in 15 years when we are watching some garbage rookie try to fill Josh Allen's shoes, we will look back on the Josh Allen era and think of 2 pass catchers synonymous with his successes and highlights, and that those players are Diggs and Kincaid. Another stud receiver acquisition in the next couple years is welcome to join that party of course
-
I'm starting to get upset at Josh's interceptions. Not because he is throwing them, but because there are only like 4 legitimate picks in the stack of 8. 2 wonky deflections and 2 3rd and 20 arm punts that should have been caught or knocked down by Diggs and Davis. 8 is a big number for 8 games and it should be 4 or 5 with any luck on his part.

There was not one play during last night's game where I would have been happy switching places with Tampa situationally. I would sign up for being able to say that every Sunday

Bills fans cheering for the Pats on Sunday?
Franco_92 replied to PatsFanNH's topic in The Stadium Wall
Not only would a pats win keep the Bills ahead of Miami for now, it would allow us to root for a Miami win against KC, which would actually keep the bills in the driver's seat to finishing ahead of both teams. Though I was starting to warm up to the idea of being Florida road warriors these playoffs. -
If this has ever worked one time in the history of the NFL, it's worth doing. Not sure why people hate it The big mistake was actually snapping the ball at the end of the 3rd
-
I agree they need to make it happen and not fail, I'm not going to ree about the particular way in which they failed because i'm not a brainlet. Execution matters, not "you idiots chose a better formation than the one I want but failed!"

Why is this team, and staff, so dumb?
Franco_92 replied to Bermuda Triangle's topic in The Stadium Wall
I have posted elsewhere that I am done seeing Jordan Phillips in a Bills uniform and would cut him and trade for another DT this week. And yes Oliver is ######ed. These are not unique to the Bills, even though the Bills need to improve on these scenarios. Again, for the tenth time, I am not trying to claim the Bills don't have problems to work on - some weeks they have MANY, BIG problems they need to work on. My problem is with fans taking over the board with zero-context moaning after victories as well as losses. I at least expect it to happen after losses, I can't complain then. For 20 minutes after this win, every post was trying to make me believe that the Bills are uniquely bad at winning, and have wins that nobody else in the league who is worth anythign would ever have, even though I watch that happen 5x per weekend. THAT, my friend, is what I post against Miami is above us right now. They B word about their stupid players and costly penalties too. So do the Chiefs, and the 49ers. It's football, and it needs to be talked about, but not in fatalistic, doomsday, "i told you guys the team is going nowhere" posts that absolutely swamp the entire board the second a VICTORY is in hand It was a cuttable offense. It's been a long time since I saw something quite so stupid.
