The rules don't consider what would have happened in the wiped out game, just that a game that was previously on the schedule no longer exists, and now there's a games played disparity. I agree that maximum fairness would involve replaying the game but there was no time to do so, and they want to minimize and avoid if all possible frilly things like coin flips. Bengals shouldn't have thrown 5 picks or whatever against the steelers if they wanted to host this one.

No, he's dreadful. He comes in blinded by his own team and insults the posters here who are objectively more correct than he is, cloaking everything he says with an air of objectivity that isn't there. I've almost never used the ignore feature in my years reading this place and I had to bust it out for him. The Pats fan is far better and was far less arrogant even when ne was good

Difference in O-Line Year over Year
Franco_92 replied to Rich Stadium Original's topic in The Stadium Wall
at least 3 of those sacks was Allen deciding to step between his linemen to try and scramble, being baited by dolphins defenders, who then closed the gap. And if you actually read my post, it'll help you remember that the other ones are because of the dolphins rushing 5, 6, 7, and 8 players all game long. The strip sack was a DB or LB coming in off the edge, where no protection was available. But yeah, "muh seven sacks" -
Difference in O-Line Year over Year

I generally thought the OL played well considering the amount of 0 and 1 Miami was playing And think that like last year, they got better in December/January Saffold is a problem though, and Brown is only sliiiiiightly improved from last year -
1/15/2023 Wildcard Weekend - Dolphins @ Bills - Post Game Thread
Franco_92 replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
That's because, a string of 4 Bills offensive possessions went like this: 1.) interception, returned like 50 yards deep into buffalo territory 2.) punt return 50+ yards deep into buffalo territory 3.) interception returned to 1st and goal 4.) strip sack fumble touchdown -

According to Sal, in the last 180 playoff games (16 years) only 7 teams allowed fewer yards per play than the Buffalo Bills did yesterday -
Is it my imagination but has Cris Collinsworth improved this season?

I've hit a point where no matter how loud the TV is I don't hear what announcers and commentators are saying. -
Rules question: Illegal block to the back
Franco_92 replied to simpleman's topic in The Stadium Wall
There was a block in the back on the Dolphins last offensive play too. Had elam not broken it up, I was ready to go ballistic. -
I found myself far more often pleased with the defensive play and discipline than upset with it. This view is matched by every trusted football mind I've come across discussing this game, particularly the film guys at cover 1. I genuinely don't know what game some of you were watching. Our offense had four straight drives of: interception, return deep into buf territory punt return deep into buf territory interception deeeeeeeeeeep into buf territory fumble rec TD the defense gave up one touchdown in that circumstance to a team with 2 of the best offensive weapons in the league the defense gave up 1 touchdown on a legit drive out of like 15 drives the defense gave up far less than 300 yards of offense despite being hung out to dry repeatedly for 5 hours the defense held hill and waddle to far less than half of their average per game combined production

Like many of you, I feel quite a bit more reassured that the Bengals aren't some super team to be afraid of. They are certainly good, certainly capable of beating the Bills or the Chiefs. But they aren't special. If we can get through this one, Jacksonville's defense is going to have a better chance of taking down KC than the Ravens would. If we can get the Bills except for the ones that played those 4 consecutive drives to sandwich halftime, we will win this game by two scores. If we get too much of those halftime bills, we will lose by two scores

I wonder if bengals fans are crying and shidding and farding right now

Wait, you're telling me the game doesn't end when the Bengals score on their first 2 drives?

I think our defensive fundamentals were outstanding. Players made their reads, held gap integrity, and covered the best weapons in the league well enough to hold them to probably their lowest total on the season. Miami probably had 15 drives and only one of them was a full-field TD drive. You're not gonna make every play, especially against Hill and Waddle, but they never let them get loose for the big one, and made a bunch of huge plays. If that defense comes to play and we get the normal bills offense without the obscenities of the middle 20 minutes, we can win the super bowl. But I worry that this IS the normal bills offense at this point. They threw a pick, and lazily gave up a 50 yard return. They gave up a 50 yard punt return. Another pick returned inside the 20, and then a strip sack touchdown. 4 drives in a row. Obscene. "Muh defense" -
Last night's game was an all-time classic and he called it like it was bingo night at the retirement home. He is not fine. Last night was a disgrace to the game.
