The chiefs schedule looked brutal and then they wound up with the biggest cupcake I've ever seen. They didn't have any weather games, got the rams 3rd string qb and no kupp, had a "hard division" become a complete joke instantly, and played just 3 good teams, losing 2 of them. Catching san Fran before they got hot, playing titans after their win streak and tannehills injury etc.

I've seen a sentiment floating around that worries about all of the upcoming talent, ascending teams in the AFC. that was us 2 years ago, it felt like we were set up for a decade of dominance. The chargers, jags, bengals etc. Aren't always going to look as dominant or promising as they do today, just like we weren't. The Bengals owner is so lacking in money that as soon as burrow gets paid, their roster is going to hit a wall faster than ours. Jacksonville will have similar issues in a couple years, and had a LOT of free agent dollars come up so small on Saturday. The chargers are the chargers. The Bills can and will retool. Next year, like this year, will probably not be the best iteration of the Josh Allen Bills when all things are said and done. But the Bills are not sunk at all, and I fully believe that josh will bring us to the promised land

Free Agents and Offseason Situation
Franco_92 replied to BillsFanForever19's topic in The Stadium Wall
Im not even worried about a potential step back on D. They were terrible in 2020 and we did fine -
Love you All-Pro Po I remember posters here telling each other to not take this budding young safety duo for granted back in 2017, because it is rare for two guys that age to get together and gel like that. I took it to heart and was grateful for every play they were back there. We are already at the end, it looks like. So sad we couldn't get them a ring together. But so grateful they helped raise this franchise from the bottom of the sea.

I always had hope but something inside me knew that this season was wiped out for good when we came back to commercial and saw Allen and Diggs and Tre in a panic over Damar, and then learned he was receiving CPR. That did not look like a football team ready and interested in playing for a long time, and even at the time I was ready for the announcement that the Bills were done for the season. I don't blame anyone for that, but it felt like too much, and Milano/Allen's comments and demeanor confirm that this team was done long before the final whistle today I just hope we can regroup, dedicate the next 2 offseasons to building an elite O line, and have a few seasons where nothing particularly out of the ordinary happens.

This was the most annoying fabricated take I've ever seen. I'm going to flip out the next time someone brings it up on TV. Every single venue that could have possibly hosted a championship game began selling tickets before this weekend's games. Every single one. Of course the league is going to advertise it to some degree, because the average viewer probably has no idea that this is a possibility

It's funny how Milano and Edmunds "regress" to last year's form when guards are suddenly allowed into the second level uncontested and with their associated momentum DaQuan is very important to this team, and we need to build depth so that when he misses time in the future this doesn't happen again. Not sure if this phenomenon is scheme related or true for all linebackers But I just watched Edmunds and Milano each put together awesome seasons and then each get plastered today. They aren't that bad I don't think

Josh looked really defeated in his press conference.

Eh. By March, the dollars are flying, the memories of last season fade into the past, and guys will still want to come play with Allen, Diggs, Miller. -
It feels like the fans got appropriate effort from this game given what they put into it. And I include myself in that, because I was close to buying a ticket but waffled out of it. It was a disgrace.

Josh had an intense spiritual revelation very recently. He was earnest about it on one of his Brandt appearances, to the point where he was trying to convey the degree he was impacted by it while also balancing it by trying not to come off as a weirdo or be seen as "one of those religious goofballs" or something. But yeah that can have a pretty big impact on a person, and take some time to sort through and come to grips with. -
The Bills lose this game no matter what, so this isn't an excuse or anything, but man that weather was significantly worse than I was led to expect. I guess I have to continue to worry about how this team can handle weather games against good teams. But was it just me missing forecasts? I got the impression from the media I consumed this week that weather wouldn't be an issue

Yup. I know our defense sucked in the 13 seconds game, but Our offense punted 4 times. If that number was 3, we win the game. I'm just not convinced you can actively build a defense that can guarantee shutting down Mahomes and Burrow (and Allen) in the playoffs, if those teams continue to jack up their offenses. We need to make our offense like that. It'll make the defense's job easier, and allow them to be more aggressive.

I don't know that many people, but I know 5x as many women who are facing crippling depression for the next several decades of their lives because they thought they could wait, than I know women who successfully had children at an age like that. I'm not claiming that outliers don't exist, but don't pretend they are the rule. -

They emphatically should not count on this being the case -

It's easier to handle when you never had a shot. Every single Bills player saw what we did, by the time we were an hour into the game. I also felt far less pain today than last year or the year before -
So who do we lose to free agency this year?
Franco_92 replied to bills6969's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'm going to miss Poyer, but it's the right move to let him go. He was a huge part of this lurch from irrelevance to the kind of pain we get to feel today (and I mean that in a good way). It will be emotional for me when he leaves. But this team needs to take a step in a different direction. -
I'm not saying this is a problem, but I'm done having Josh pick our Coordinators/personnel moves. At least until we win a super bowl.

1/22/23 GAMEDAY THREAD Divisional Playoffs Bills vs. Bengals

What the ***** is that -
Dude was hopped up on whatever they gave him to finish the game. If it's really a sprain, he's going to be hobbled. Still effective, but hobbled.
-
Some pathetic football from Duval today.
-
Jags are calling plays like it's THEIR QB who is hobbled or out of the game. Not ready for the moment.
-
The Jags players just aren't ready to make the big plays in this spotlight yet.
-
LOL the Jags are a joke
