Why did I think engram was with the jags And it still has waller with the raiders. What's going on here

The snowstorm can at least interrupt preparation but I agree on the Tops thing. It happened in the depths of the offseason. Of course it was terrible - it also had no bearing on how I did my job the next day, let alone on the bills doing theirs months later

Coming back to the list: 1.) Become a master of Dorseys offense. Know the playbook better than Dorsey. 2.) Recognize defensive coverages and disguised defensive coverages (cover 0, 1, 2 and 3) 3.) Be able to audible to a better play (see step 1) once he does step 2. Audible from a run to pass or pass to run at the very least. How much audibling did Josh do last season ? 4.) Move his RB around for better blocking once he recognizes the blitzing LB. The Mike, Sam, etc I should be more charitable on point 1: This sort of thing only accrues with time and reps, and Allen acknowledged that it was something he needed to continue to work at improving. But point 2 is undergrad quarterbacking - Josh is elite faculty at an ivy league institution Points 3 and 4 are far more nuanced than "Josh is limited in this area and needs to start getting better to win the super bowl" As Brett alludes to in this video I remember watching when it came out (thanks for reposting, it's a good video), adjustments are a constant dance dependent on coaching, QBs, protection, and skill players winning 1v1s. That's why football is simultaneously so complicated and always building on itself, while also not completely reinventing playbooks from scratch year after year (1v1 matchups make it so no scheme or counter to it is perfect, so things can work and then later not work against the same QB). Bill Belichick engaged in the same Cover - 1, then hide Cover - 2, dance just 8 months before the game in the video. The result was arguably the greatest QB performance in playoff history. Josh and Dorsey DID adjust on a drive by drive basis, just like Miami did. Miami was fiendish in their desperation to FINALLY put the reigns on this guy that had tormented them for years - it showed. Cover-0 looks into TAMPA TWO is INSANE. It's awesome, and completely bonkers. Allen needing a drive or two to try and get a handle on ***** like that is not a "limitation," it's a "holy ***** Miami lol" Miami played the same way in the playoffs too. It forced a couple turnovers. But it also allowed us to rack up about 1500 yards and 9 passing TDs in these 3 games. Allen still walked all over them in week 3 despite 150 degree heat index and 3 OL left, one of which had a torn ACL. They just couldn't finish 2 drives. They finished those drives the next two matchups, scoring a combined 66 points. I'd call that making adjustments at a level sufficient of a super bowl-capable QB. Allen simply is. There are always things to learn, get better at, and adjust to. Teams are always capable of temporarily stumping any QB. Mahomes had a lot of trouble in September and October of 2021 for the same reasons Josh did in the middle/end of that year. But like Mahomes, Josh has shown time and time again that those things won't keep him down for long. The same looks that Belichick used to burn him in 2019, teams are TERRIFIED to use now. And when Josh doesn't have a UCL injury and underwhelming weapons, he's shown he can back off into two high shell beaters when he has to as well. The variable in all of this is and will always be 1v1 matchups, and who can solve what at just the right time, and whose team is more talented, whose coach is a tick more clever on this drive or that, as always. Josh has already shown he does this stuff at rare levels, which was the point of my post Oh, and that video is a great example of what I was saying a few months ago. The Dolphins are basically THE cover-0 team of the last 5 years. It's demonstrably the most "aggressive" call in the defensive playbook, as Brett emphasizes. Bills fans calling Frazier "not aggressive enough" because his Corners were in off coverage on cover 0 against cinci did not understand the call. The call was too aggressive for the situation. A hot route, quick slant gets the first down there, that's not when you call something that aggressive. You don't use press coverage in cover 0, and every time the dolphins called it or showed it, they were just as far back as the Bills were against cinci

They traded for Ramsey Allen alone has 9 touchdowns in his last 2 games against Ramsey Their cap situation is as ugly as ours coming up, and a lot of the ugly contracts are with old guys. Waddle is great. We've already played him and Hill 3 times, and only one team all year can say they did the same and held Tua to fewer passing yards than any of our 3 games against them, pick any one. The Dolphins are good. They COULD pass us. We are still the alpha

The Dolphins played 18 games last year, and the only teams to allow fewer passing yards to them than any of the 3 Bills games are the Jets (who never faced Tua) and the Chargers The Dolphins managed to get a run game going once out of three times other than that, this was their second-best running game of the year. The other two times they played the Bills were their second-and-third-worst rushing games of the year Everyone loves their narratives The Bills were objectively better at stopping the dolphins than the vast majority of teams who played them, all year long The Bills outgained the Dolphins by like 300 yards per game despite this year being a culmination of going all-in to finally topple the Bills. They fell completely limp and gave up huge hauls for Jalen Ramsey and Bradley Chubb, who have never beaten or done anything against the Bills If the situations were reversed the same fans who act scared and like Miami is about to pass Buffalo, would be so insufferably miserable about what we did to pass the Bills, not being able to pass the bills, and hitting the end of Tua's rookie deal with about 10 guys above age 30 with massive cap hits

This game was a lot of fun. One of the few times Allen looked right post-injury. A lot of people worry about close games with the Dolphins. When I watch the 3 fins games I see a team that spent 3 years trying to solve allen and finally threw everything and the kitchen sink at it in 2022, and all they were able to get is one scraped out win in week 3 at home after the Bills were down to their last available linemen, with one playing on a torn ACL because no one was left. The fins blew their load and still didn't accomplish anything The Jets are up next

Thad Brown the first to be offended by Josh
Franco_92 replied to 78thealltimegreat's topic in The Stadium Wall
*slurping on journo boots* You HOMERS didn't notice that McDermott was asked "how concerned are you???" implying a level of concern is definitely present before the coach can get a word out, and answered "very!" What now, HOMERS?!?@?! your world must be crumbling around you after the OTA PC 4 weeks ago!! *resumes to slobber all over the dirty leather soles worn by some dude named thad* "I am in MENSA!!!" -

Media: purposefully tailors a question for maximum inflammatory effect Media: capitalizes like famished hyenas when the inevitable answer comes Media when josh allen points this out: https://giphy.com/gifs/baby-crying-who-framed-roger-rabbit-2Qs2hKWMvEzdu -
The Allen-Diggs Relationship in Decline?
Franco_92 replied to hondo in seattle's topic in The Stadium Wall
Right, I remember that whole interview having the theme of "I wish Diggs was here but I'm glad i'm getting this time with guys who wouldn't get it if he was here" So stupid. I never thought highly of nfl pundits but my view of them has tanked this summer -
The Allen-Diggs Relationship in Decline?

Why am I seeing that allen quote all over today? I'm pretty sure he said that like 3 weeks ago? Unless he gave an interview I missed today, despite being nowhere near facilities, and saying the same thing almost exactly word for word -
It's transparent to the point of boredom. Please Colin, name the 7 coach and qb combos the bills would love to trade allen and Sean for. Does that dip into dak/Mccarthy territory? Staley/Herbert? Imagine actually thinking this. Of course, he doesn't

They can still be fired at any time. They won't be because they shouldn't be

Tua Answers Media Question Too Honestly
Franco_92 replied to BillsShredder83's topic in The Stadium Wall
Tua is a funny and good guy from all accounts. Don't wish him success over the Bills obviously but he's easy to root for otherwise- 53 replies

This is well-written, and captures the vibe I always pick up when reminded of the Dunne article (and everything he's written in general since leaving) I'm sure One Bills Drive isn't paradise every day/moment but I'm not convinced anything boiling under the surface is remarkable, and things are still far too good and efficient for me to wring my hands

I think a lot of people focusing on McDermott answer don't acknowledge the question He wasn't asked "no Diggs? Please tell us more" He was asked "how concerned are you?" Answering "I'm not" is not true and out of the question, and opens even more questions about Diggs "Very" followed by "I'm not going to get into it" seems pretty standard coach speak

This thread has been something to behold His main contentions have been that he is piecing together what is really going on here while we all lap up regime kool aid, and that this happens because of how smart and successful he is, and we make fun of him because our synapses just don't fire well enough to complete the puzzle We are making fun of him for this because it's clear that his ideas are uninteresting and not particularly creative or intelligent the way he plays them up, and because self-aggrandizing on the internet is a classic internet-poster archetype worthy of dunking on mercilessly He posted that because he thinks we don't believe what he says about his money and success, but nobody has even once doubted these things. We just grasp that they don't mean he's high IQ, or interesting, or capable of putting good posts together. Posting anonymously online allows for some cool dynamics to take place that are rarer in person - it throws away your social/political cache, anything that doesn't matter to the point you are making but in real life could unjustifiably make people more likely to have to listen to what you say. It doesn't matter if you're a disgusting freak that nobody likes, who deserves to be in jail - if you have a good post to make about Diggs or anything else, your post will be given the same platform as MENSA member company presidents' like @Einstein, and the community will respond according to how insightful it is relative to his post. That hasn't worked well for Einstein. His posts don't really reflect the insight typically capable for MENSA members, and the community responds in kind. He doesn't get it, so he has to insist to us that he not only has this social cache, but that it's better than all of ours, so we just don't understand him. Sorry dude, that's not how talking on the internet works. Your ideas DON'T measure up. Conspiracies are real, they can be cool. The press does suck, and organizations like the Bills or any other company do have dirty laundry, and do coordinate to hide them. You are not crafting anything unique or interesting though, because we all know this, and buttressing it with the sentence structure and emotional intelligence of a tumblr teen betrays that your posts don't do the job on their own Honestly, in real life, you and I would probably get along and agree with a lot of things. But as successful as you have been, with your company, your real estate, whatever else, you didn't come up with anything interesting on the Bills, and I and many others here are in fact quite capable at undressing you when you get hostile. It has happened ten times over in this thread
