And on Ben utilizing personnel - Detroit traded a good RB for a late round pick and then spent pick 12 on a RB, who they refuse to use in place of a JAG free agent signing

Johnson relies on the best run blocking o-line in football, has a boring and unimpressive passing game, and before last night his team's advanced metrics centering on the run game were bottom 5 in the league People love the hot new name though

Big Baller Bass - AFC Special Teams Player of the Month
Franco_92 replied to The Wiz's topic in The Stadium Wall
Buttker goes through stretches where he's not reliable at all -
My favorite part was when everyone found out that any more snowball throwing would lead to a penalty on the Bills, so all the dolphins fans in the stands started hucking them with fervor

I was worried they were going to choose Garrett. -
Jets fans and Miami fans think this because he has injured both of their QBs. The Tua push was technically late and so it was a foul, even if it wasn't "dirty." Dirty is when the Miami receiver ends our safety's career

McD much better D coordinator than Frazier

If you're giving the players the green light to trust themselves versus rigidly playing their assignment, this is the exact difference you would expect to see. That is simulated pressure. -

Blitzing is only one way to proxy aggression. The cover 1 guys have said a few times that players are playing more downhill, abandoning assignments on intuition and reading QB's eyes, stuff like that, a lot more often than before. I would definitely consider those things playing more aggressive. I also think we'd be blitzing more if we weren't already getting such good pressure with 4. Any team that can be high in pressure rate with just 4 would love to constantly drop 7 back. Jets do the same and they are a very "aggressive" defense -
Stats, PFF grades, Thoughts on Offense, and Miami coming up
Franco_92 replied to Einstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
This is not a "refs suck and hate us" post. But we would also benefit from some element of the Dolphins beating themselves. When the starters were in yesterday, the Bills had apparently committed six times as many infractions as their opponent despite completely dominating them. It was a bit perplexing. I didn't see anything wrong with the calls on the bills I paid attention to, but it is rare for a team to be so thoroughly outclassed yet technically sound. Similarly, the Raiders apparently committed 2 infractions despite facing an offensive machine for 80 plays. I'm a bit skeptical. In fact, over the course of well over 300 plays combined, the Bills' opponents have been outrageously disciplined, only committing 6 infractions to Buffalo's 15 (though I might be forgetting some after the bills starters were pulled) In an important game I project to be closely fought, I will just ask for consistency so the coaches and players can dictate the outcome themselves. The Bills ended a lot of their own drives prematurely, and extended one or two Washington drives. They need to clean that up themselves, one drive can make the difference next week -
I would prefer a QB sneak on the 4th down as well but when you get Diggs matched up on a linebacker it's not the craziest thing in the world to throw that way. 9/10 times the pass isn't knocked down. Torrence has been great but that's one of the nuances he still has to fine-tune, locking up the defenders arms

Chase young is actually the worst of the 4 DL they start

Over-reaction Three Weeks In.... Offense seems disjointed
Franco_92 replied to Billsfan1972's topic in The Stadium Wall
There is enough going right with the offense that I am confident it CAN be the best we've had with Josh Our offense was humming through 6 games last year and then spent 2 months not working quite right at the end. I'm worried about stacking Ws any way we can now. I will be worried about what the offense looks like in late December -
The film isn't as scary as the box score. Did they really give up a pick for Payton? Denver was unbelievable. But Miami is the September champion 2 years in a row, deservedly so. They are dangerous and we need to combine top-notch game planning with top-notch execution. If we do that, we will beat them. Fangio has never been able to stop Josh

Sunday Night Football: Steelers at Raiders
Franco_92 replied to Beck Water's topic in The Stadium Wall
Everyone on planet earth can see that Najee Harris is a terrible football player and his backup can play. How many points have the Steelers left on the board the last year or so trying to make that work? -

I like what I see, but it's been 3 weeks. We have beaten up on and embarrassed young QBs for 5 years now -
9/24/23 Week 3 GAMEDAY Bills vs Commanders 2nd Half Thread
Franco_92 replied to Freddie's Dead's topic in The Stadium Wall
You're telling me that Washington is getting dominated on both sides of the ball, but playing clean football while we get our drives killed and their drives extended from penalties? Let's even this up, stripes. -

BUF @ NE 12/26/21 was a good one. New England was once again media darlings, and had inexplicably held the 1 seed through a decent stretch of the middle/end of the season. They had beaten us in the wind game a few weeks prior (not many, 3 or 4). The Bills were 8-6, Pats were 9-5. If the Bills won, they could win out and clinch the AFC East. If they lost, they were going to hand the crown back after one brief season. They went into Foxborough and played nearly a perfect game on offense, setting the stage for the wildcard beatdown 3 weeks later. Allen was masterful, and made obscene 3rd and long conversions all game long. McKenzie torched Bryant on crosser after crosser. That was a lot of fun - "Not so fast, patsies!"

He has helped us come a long way. I hope so bad he can get us the rest of the way. Good feelings about this year if we can stay healthy.

Warren Sharp needs to take that tweet down. Pat Hammer was annoyed by it lol. Every weather guy has said the storm is slamming the area Saturday and it will either be gone by kickoff, or only quick light sprinkles will remain
