  1. True that it was one game, but for a guy that had zero OTA and training camp participation, it was quite impressive that he ran the offense the way he did. I’m not really sure benching him in favor of Allen is the way to go at this point
  2. I don’t necessarily agree with this decision. I can understand getting Allen more reps, but I think Barkley deserves another shot against a slightly better at this point team than the Jets. Not to mention I’m quite sure the defense would advocate starting Barkley given his performance with very little time to prepare. As Beane said, they have no plans to tank and while Allen may be the future, it wouldn’t be fair to the defense to accept possibly losing more games for the sake of Allen getting more reps. I think giving Barkley at least the start against the Jags would be ok, and if he stinks up the joint, then give Allen the rest of the season
  3. I'm not really sure what this would accomplish at this point. Manziel couldn't cut it in this league once, did even worse in the CFL. Ability to scramble won't solve the problem with this offense. A lot of the issues are lack of execution and talent, Manziel already lacks talent so why add to the problem?
  4. I’d be all over this idea. With Daboll more than likely having ties to Cooper at Bama, maybe something could be worked out. Throw Benjamin in the mix and hell, Gruden likes Peterman too. There ya go
  5. Same can be said of Clay Matthews, I’m not sure why, but he seems to be the officials whipping boy lately. Which may actually bode well for Allen
  6. I’d give some props to Ivory as well. He had a pretty solid game himself
  7. I realize I may get burned for sayin this, but geez, imagine if we still had Watkins
  8. I think Chicago would have traded their entire draft to make sure GB didn’t get Mack. Mack is an outstanding talent, but those lost picks are really gonna hurt if Tribuski doesn’t pan out
  9. I can’t begin to imagine how many fights are gonna break out over this scheme. Imagine how much beer they would need for every time the Browns lost
  10. Given Coleman’s injury history, I’m inclined to think they may keep 6 on the roster.
  11. Almost counts in horseshoes, but that didn’t happen. You think Peterman or McCarron would have had the night they had behind the OL Allen had? If you’re gonna nitpick the bad , give credit for the good
  12. I’m willing to give Allen a pass on the inaccurate throws given how much pressure he faced with the 3rd team OL. They sure didn’t do him any favors, but that being said, you can’t deny he handled the pressure as good as a vet. I swear this kid has a bionic arm, it just seemed the 2 bombs he threw were so effortless. Fitzpatrick couldn’t throw that far with everything he had. I tend to agree with others that we need to see what he does with the first string offense and better pass protection. And I also agree to bring him along slow and steady
  13. There’s a personality you don’t see very often in today’s NFL, Tre has it for sure. Dude knows how to bring out the best in everyone after watching that
  14. I'm in wait and see mode once again. I learned to keep my expectations low and my optimism in check years ago. The only time I had high expectations was when we acquired Bledsoe. Since then tho, I don't set any expectations until the 2nd or 3rd week in the regular season
  15. For all the optimism surrounding Josh Allen, I think it's gonna take a bit longer than OTAs and training camp to get acclimated to the pro level. I won't be upset in the slightest if he proves me wrong. So at this point, I gotta give the nod to McCarron.
  16. The first time I ever saw Thurman was during a post game interview after the Bills beat Miami. I forget exactly what the reporter asked, but Thurman's response was "They got their ass kicked". Given my hatred for Marino and the Dolphins, that response solidified my loyalty to the Bills.
  17. I find it odd Dez would pass up 7 mil a year for 3 years in Baltimore catching passes from Flacco to come here and work with McCaron/Allen for a one year deal
  18. Found this tidbit on NFL.com, would this guy solidify our LB corps in '19? Thoughts? http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000930987/article/denver-broncos-decline-to-pick-up-shane-rays-option
  19. I can understand that to a certain degree. It's just another way a disappointed Bills fan copes with years of frustration. Think about it, if the Bills completely do a 180 with Allen, those same people will more than likely admit to being wrong, and every bit as happy as the next Bills fan.
  20. I've just now posted since the draft, I wasn't exactly anti-Allen, but I sure wasn't for him either. Now where you're kinda stepping on toes here is that a lot of Bills fans have every right to criticize a move the Bills make given the last decade or so. You gotta remember, there were players in past drafts a lot of Bills fans hit on (Russell Wilson, Ben Roethlisberger, DeShaun Watson etc). Now you may have been able to shrug those picks that could have been Buffalo's off, but the same can't be said for everyone else. I get the part about being tired of the negativity. Me personally, I ignore it. Again, I'm not crazy about the Allen pick but I will go as far as waiting to see what happens. But to me, it's not right to go after even a group of people for how they cope with years of disappointment year in and year out. If the expressions are what you consider to be too negative, you gotta ask yourself, did they earn it? If they've been fans of this team for all those years, then yeah, I think they have earned it
  21. If Andrew Luck somehow resurrects his career, I can't see Mariota doing much in that division at all. Watson, Luck, Jacksonville's D. I keep wondering how he would have fared in Philly had Tennessee actually did pull the trigger for that trade
  22. I would be happy with any of the 3, not just Darnold or Rosen. The thing about the injury thing being overblown is that others, namely other GMs, think the same thing which makes me believe a hefty price will have to be paid to get him from where we are now. The third option of course being Mayfield.
  23. Not that I believe this, but suppose BB decided to retire instead? If you're Kraft, of the 2 which would you want to keep? Brady or BB?
  24. Unfortunately that sounds more like a mediocre past because the Bills have been doing that same thing over and over. Settling for Jackson or Rudolph is basically doing the same thing we've been doing for close to 2 decades now and it's yielded one playoff appearance. Time to break from the norm and roll the dice
