  1. Only issue I have with this is too much of a chance of a ticky tack penalty giving the offense a first down. Imagine a bogus PI call
  2. If the cap gets lowered next year, either Jerry or Stephen would be morons to offer that much. That position may be the most important on the team, but to overpay for it given what's goin on, will create too many holes everywhere else to be a consistent contender. I'm not saying Dak isn't worth that, but surely he understands that the Cowboys like every other team are handcuffed in terms of shelling out insanely high contracts
  3. This was the problem, they put so much trust in their defense, they went ultra conservative in their playcalling with weak leads. Too many times McDermott took his foot off the gas too soon
  4. He did this a few days ago, probably scared of getting B slapped then banned. To his credit tho, his thought process is very much comic relief
  5. Nah, it'd be straight pity. This guy is all if this and that, and as you saw, making up some hideously ridiculous notion of the Bills going back to the cellar. I refer to him as Captain Desparation
  6. That would be Sar, I saw this last night. He "threatened" to come to this forum and "talk sense" to us. That would have been like a sheep walking in to a lion's den
  7. Yeah in terms of arm strength, it's looking like Allen is compared to Marino (disgusting as that is to say). But unlike Marino, Allen has a better backfield and defense. Not gonna give Darnold the Kelly comparison, he's not even scratching that surface
  8. Yeah, I agree. Darnold completes more passes to the other team than Allen, but I guess that's ok
  9. Only thing I don't agree with is Darnold isn't too much of a threat right now, and as long as Gase is running things, his development will take a serious hit from that. Firing Gase will help, but nothing will change overnight. Our defense kept him in check in both games last year, and I firmly believe Josh Norman will go back to being a top notch cornerback being back with McDermott. Yes I know the mono, lack of talent etc. But as far as anyone knows, even the Jets, nothing's changed yet
  10. Yeah, never understood the criticism myself given his production. It's always "his style of play isn't sustainable in the NFL". He just needs to protect the ball better when running
  11. I realize this thread will bring out the complainers about posting Jet threads or Jet info in general. But for me, I really don't mind it. A lot of the stuff I've read on their forums is laughable. I've seen posts here saying we shouldn't be saying there's a large gap between us and the Jets. It is true, divisional games are hard to win, against the Jets especially barring Barkley's beatdown a couple of years back. Arrogant salty jealousy is what they're about. As much as they say they can't stand Allen, they'd take his style of play in a heartbeat considering what they have going for them now, and that's not a knock on Darnold. Both Allen and Darnold are talented in their own right. Unfortunately for Darnold, they're also a reflection of their head coach. Given Darnold's abilities, having Gase for a HC is really showing at this point
  12. This I can agree with. Don't really have anything against Darnold in terms of how he is as a person. But having that poster child for Arkham Asylum for a HC is really stunting his growth
  13. Valid points, except I believe the Bills had better depth at key positions. Despite the bad showing against the Patriots and other mistakes made, Allen did show improvement. No reason to think he won't show even more this season
  14. It's only obnoxious if they actually had a platform to stand on. They base the Allen/Darnold comparison solely on Darnold's potential. Hell you could do that with any QB in the league. They can deny all they want, but Allen took a good step last year, and for his first playoff game, didn't play that bad. The Bills have the Jets beat in so many different positions that it's not even an argument. That's not to say the Jets can't improve, but as of right now with Gase running things, they're far from a threat
  15. Meh it's all good, they're not being blatantly arrogant. In their minds, Allen is the inferior QB, which is fine until the game is played
  16. Gase isn't just slowing it down, he's in the way of it. This guy is way out there on the fringe with just about everything. Now don't take this the wrong way, but a lot of Bills fans can empathize. We've hired our share of HCs that were headscratchers, Dick Jauron comes to mind. But hey, it's all good tho.
  17. To be honest, I'm not really taking anything away from Darnold, nothing at all. But I think he's in the worst spot when it comes to building around him. Bell was an obvious mistake, not sure why that happened. That's not a knock on Darnold, but between Bell and the Gase hire, it's hard to say he's the better QB right now simply because of his potential. I will say I was concerned when McCarthy was mentioned for a HC candidate there.
  18. Lol this guy's already started a thread on Buffalo on Jetnation
  19. Pull up Darnold botching the snap in Miami and what he did after, then pull up Allen's botched snap in Dallas on thanksgiving and then maybe you'll see the difference? There's a reason we say Allen has more fire. We can also nitpick ourselves
  20. Well, if they're gonna say Darnold is 2-0 at New Era, then technically, Allen is 2-0 at metlife
  21. I watched him play a few times, and you're right, he is quite smart and he had quite a college career. And yes, Allen is a franchise QB for sure. I don't think the Bills have had a QB since Flutie get this much attention
  22. I'm not quite sure how Fromm will do on the professional level. If he's a supposed "fit" for Daboll, that would imply the FO picked him because of that. Doesn't really mean he'll go far and it definitely doesn't mean he'll replace Allen.
  23. I read some of the posts on Jetnation from time to time. There's a guy on there named Sar that will insist the Jets won the first game regardless. And oh my god, he piles on excuse after excuse. He even gets on Jet fans nerves Lol I love these people, especially Jet fans, talking about how bad and inaccurate Allen is. Darnold threw more picks in 19 (in practically 5 less games) yet Allen is inaccurate. Then the others that obviously didn't watch any Bills games say the same thing. Taking the narrative from college analysis and using the "your defense carried you in to the playoffs"
  24. Gase is just a pass happy OC. Kinda reminds me of Kevin Gilbride in that they both fail to use common sense. Gase getting that "quarterback whisperer" title really ended up being a detriment to that whole franchise. I was kinda relieved when McCarthy was turned down.
  25. Was watching a clip on YouTube yesterday that had Deion Sanders in it feeling pity for the Jets because of their first 4 games. He ended it with saying Bell doesn't want to play for the Jets
