  1. For Wat$on better the devil you do not know than the devil you willingly signed extension from. He appears to be following the Le'Veon Bell model.
  2. Mostly they justify it by being the best of the professional sports networks. They also added games to season which players say they do not want but NFLPA agrees to and players will accept the money rather than sitting out. Disney's problems about losing money is not just COVID but ESPN which viewers are abandoning and due to amount they are charging for ESPN telephone providers are putting it on high priced tiers. Some more facts on season: https://frontofficesports.com/nfl-viewership-tv-tracker-week-17-2020-regular-season/ It only addresses regular season not playoffs or Superbowl which also had decreases, some large, with multiple causes including no two week media period and home team hosting Superbowl for first time.
  3. Not unless NFL allows Krafty to own a team in AFC and NFC. Better an incompetent bungler than a competent cheater.
  4. NFL Wants Networks to Double Payments for Broadcast Rights https://frontofficesports.com/nfl-seeking-big-bumps-to-tv-rights-payments/
  5. https://frontofficesports.com/jeff-bezos-washington-football-team/ Not only fans want to break ties but minority owners. He is the owner of the Washington Post who posted several articles which forced $nyder to change practices and new Public Relations attorney.
  6. Disney, NFL have a gap of more than $1 billion per year in their initial positions https://sports.yahoo.com/disney-nfl-gap-more-1-171721277.html Note: Normally I try to quote initial source but you can only get access if you have subscription, even if you are google, so using article of someone who supposedly read article and put his own slant on it. Personally I think ESPN is dead since there are a lot less subscribers to ESPN and Disney could get a lot more advertising dollars on ABC.
  7. Remember Yahoo is part of Verizon and Verizon is already in bed with NFL.
  8. Quittin' Spain was all on him. He got a new contract, came into camp out of shape, Bills tried him for 2 games as starter and he was ineffective, he was made a backup for 2 games and not much more effective and then is healthy when he goes on plane to Tennessee but has foot issues when he gets off and does not play another down. At least he made an effort. Quittin' Spain had a large contract and made little effort. I hope he stewed at home being out of playoffs.
  9. I think it is too early until they determine who is staying, who is going and who is available in free agency. If draft was before it would be different but it isn't.
  10. Tax payers do it all the time giving interest free loans to IRS so they can collect rebate windfalls. Maybe some want someone else holding their money because they cannot control spending of it.
  11. The clueless ones who continue whipping players who are gone and will not be back are true whipping boys.
  12. It is not making space, just moving it. And what happens when a player knows team cannot afford to cut player and decides to coast to save body for next contract? And there are some players who do retire with large cap numbers and go to court not to repay. IMO should only be done in rare cases.
  13. https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/news/2021-nfl-draft-here-are-4-ways-not-having-the-combine-will-affect-prospects-and-evaluators/ And be ready for some INSANE times and measurements. It's been difficult to trust pro days because of their exaggerating tendencies. But the combine always unearths more NFL-caliber talents who played at lower levels in college. But instances do arise when a prospect tests too poorly to be seriously considered a top-tier prospect or, unfortunately, even an NFL prospect at all. In most cases, watching film, and, not overcomplicating things, works damn well.
  14. https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/j-j-watt-taking-his-time-choosing-new-team-references-struggle-picking-restaurants-on-doordash-as-an-analogy/ Maybe team which manages to get him endorsement contract will get him to sign.
  15. Allen should share responsibility since he had many plays with RPO and almost always choose pass.
  16. https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/30946019/new-jersey-allow-new-york-giants-new-york-jets-new-jersey-devils-other-teams-limited-fans We already know their fans were limited with many taking this opportunity to change jerseys but nice of governor to confirm this.
  17. Latvia is an independent country which was taken over by Russia and is free again. https://www.espn.com/nhl/story/_/id/30945519/new-york-rangers-artemi-panarin-taking-leave-assault-allegations-surface
  18. Khalil Mack could do what other alumni do - donate money for scholarship and be on committee which decides on who gets scholarships.
  19. I assume PK are offense since they produce points and P are defense since they are kicking usually on 4th down. Very hard for a ST player to get bonus.
  20. When I went to UB there were a large number of NYC area students there because it was furthest state university from NYC so mommie and daddie could pay in-state tuition for them. You could see the difference in NYC area students since most had new cars not having to take buses to classes or between campuses. Every time the Jest played every year or occasionally the Jiants played there would be large groups of students going to game and there would often be friends and family from down state joining them. In first year at college I was a freshman and freshmen did not get solo rooms and my dorm room included two students from NYC, Sunday, September 23 Bills beat the Jest and they came back drunk from it with 2 friends who could not get flights back that night. They did not bother asking if their friends could stay in our dorm room and were up late that night. Lots of classes that Monday morning had students missing and more than one professor had a pop quiz on that day knowing the pattern.
  21. Sometimes. They have ratings and enhanced ratings which include streaming, bars, etc. Ratings were down for Superbowl even when they added such things, way down, and I am surprised the NFL is seeking 100% rise in contract.
  22. Jiants are $158.81 and Jest are $137.66 in same stadium.
