Espenosa and Epenesa are both last names and not oddest last names in NFL. Espenosa is a much more common last name from medieval Spain. AJ Epenesa is Samoan-Polynesian. Epenesa is not in any of my reference books from college. I used to teach ESL and would look up each student in books. There are many alternate spellings but Epenesa is not one of them. It is possible the spell checker changed it to Espenosa.
