While I agree with you completely, I am quite certain the bills will take a QB at eight. I think the smartest move would be to trade down.
-
I agree with this except they will not take a pass rusher, it wil be a CB in the to 4 picks. Buddy seems to like Mark Anderson as OLB pass rusher
-
QB, WR, TE,CB After listening to all the buddy interviews he seems to feel our roster is OK at G and LB. ( LB likely now includes Mark Anderson and Mario Williams as 3-4 pass rushers) I think these will be the positions of our top 4 picks. No doubt QB at 8 (Nassib or Barkley) then WR, CB,TE not necessarily in that order.

Aaron Williams moved to Safety

I think this makes it less likely that we will be drafting a safety high. Searcy, Byrd, Williams, Scott That is 4 safetys on the roster (although Scott could be considered a small LB) -

Is Bryan Scott also a safety now? -

I could not have said it better -
What is your definition of failure.? Mine is a terrible record since he has been here. Our roster has limited talent. No competent GM would allow constant switching from 4-3 to 3-4 to 4-3 and now back to 3-4. Hiring two incompetent defensive coordinators. We just lost our best player in free agency and it looks like Byrd is next.

As long as buddy is here there is no hope. Whaley is an unknown. We will be lucky to win 4 games this year. I love the apologists who criticize the article about our lack of talent . I think our oline will look much worse this year due to loss of levitre And not having fitz getting rid of the ball on quick 3 step drops.

The blls were ranked the fourth worst roster in the NFL. This is on Buddy, http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap1000000154500/article/nfls-five-weakest-rosters-jacksonville-jaguars-at-top

Rapaport: don't expect Byrd to show up to workouts
freester replied to FluffHead's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Why do you have the quote "In Nix I trust" What possible moves has he done to earn your trust? Obviously his won/loss record isn't the factor. If you are related to Buddy I understand, but you are an apologist for the worst organization in the NFL of which Buddy is in charge of football. -
I have heard no evidence that Buddy is gone after the draft. This is pure speculation. He is a proven incompetent as his record indicates. Doug Whaley? Who knows if he knows what he is doing. He can't be worse than Buddy, but he may not be in charge for a while.

This is further evidence of Nix's incompetence. Both Byrd and Levitre (our two best players) should have been extended a year ago before they were free agents. I posted this exact topic, but many of the Nix apologists said there is plenty of time to make the deal. Nix has no idea what he is doing and is among the worst GM in bills history. Levitre is now gone with no compensation and Byrd will be gone soon. You can't win by letting your best young players leave. -

My head will explode if we draft a safety at 8. Safety is among the least important positions. Terrible drafts are the main reason we our the worst organization in the league -
if the draft does this, what do we do
freester replied to frogger's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It actually did not work out very well. The bills record has not improved at all by drafting CJ. You don't win in the NFL by drafting high CB, RB and undersized WR (TJ Graham, Roscoe) This is what we have done and it has failed. We need a dominant defense and improved QB play. A stud TE would help the Offense greatly. -
I'm in favor of any realistic trade down. Hopefully Buddy will not make any more bonehead tradeups like he did last year for WR in 3rd round.

Ryan Nassib - QB - Syracuse

Exactly my point. It is an inexact science and more picks gives you a better chance of getting lucky also somw good players will fall like LT Cordy Glenn. -

There are many draft experts who do not have Geno Smith, Jarvis Jones or Mingo on their top 10 board. I think Geno Smith would be a terrible pick, but that is my opinion. Trading down would allow us to address TE, QB, LB, G, CB -

Drafting a player in the top 10 does not make them a top 10 talent. (See Whitner, Dareus, Mckelvin 11, Maybin,11 Mike Williams) -

You make it sound so simple, but this has not been simple for the bills. More picks would give us more chances to hit on some of the picks. -

Every year there are multiple first round trades. Good GMs know how to work the draft and to obtain value and extra picks if necessary. There is always a risk that a player may not be available at a lower slot, but by that reasoning we must trade up to #1 to obtain Nassib. The Bills have so may needs that extra picks are essential. -

I have no doubt they will pick Nassib at #8. They should trade down and pick him later, but Buddy isn't smart enough to work the draft. -
While Nix is clearly incompetent and only bills apologists can defend his record. what worries me is that Doug Whaley has hitched his wagon to Buddy. This is an extremely poor choice of mentors. Furthermore, I don't understand why Buddy is still here and Whaley has not been named the GM. Brandon continues to deny that Nix is stepping down. I assumed that when Brandon took over he would replace the GM. Why has the transition not occurred? Why did Brandon not look outside the organization for a competent GM? What has Whaley done to make us think he can be a good GM?

If the bills were smart they would trade down. The Bills are not smart. They will pick Ryan Nassib at #8. -

I bet ravens open up in buffalo. I'm sure ravens were given choice of which road team to open up and they chose the weakest opponent. I would love to have the season open up in biffalo
