reasonably good write up..not sure the changes needed can be made in one season given the cap handcuffs. Yes there are ways around that cap with some restructuring but there are just too many C level players on this team and the entire O line needs to be replaced. I guess give it one more shot in 2023 and if it doesn't pan out then make some real drastic changes and try for a run two years later in 2026 (using 2024 and 2025 to reststructure team and coaches). Glad i am not Beane or the Pegulas - basically purgatory for them and the fans.

no to TE and RB at those draft slots but like the other picks. Would rather see them take a safety and a wide receiver (late - hope to find one like Shakir or Hodgins)

everyone in this division has a tough schedule facing the two best NFC divisions. I think 10-6 wins the division so if the Bills go 4-2 in the division they have a shot at that 10-6. If they split 3-3 its anyones guess as to who makes it. Worse than 3-3 and its back to the drawing board.

just fix the O-line before they even think about adding any early round draftee or pricey free agent..without an Oline any back won't be worth the price

I agree that the Bills will no longer be the media darling in 2023 and that will take some pressure off them. However that schedule is a bear. I can see them winning at most 11 games and more likely 9-10 and barely squeaking into the playoffs. I think they go 4-2 or 3-3 in the divison. They'll beat the broncos, raiders, and Bucs at home and take 2 of 3 from Jax, Giants and Cowboys. They'll lose to the Chiefs, Eagles and Bengals on the road and win one of two from the remaining Commanders/Chargers games. Of course that is why they play the games but as fans we'll know early on after the first four - five games what type of season we are in for. As a bonus the Sabres will go on an 8 game win streak to start the season.

So basically you are in the camp that an entire coaching staff change is needed. I can't say it won't work or isn't needed - my point was whether the schemes are the problem or is it the quality of the players

totally on board with the maximize those comp picks - they can then use them to take flyers on OL and maybe get lucky and hit on 2-3

While it will probably never happen I wonder if they changed the D and O coordinators and replaced them with more imaginative coordinators (such as the two Cinci has) whether the existing talent on the Bills is good enough to make a SB run. The team just doesn't seem to have the talent (outside of Allen, Diggs and Milano) to stack up against the other playoff teams. In another thread I proposed jettisoning almost everyone to obtain a boatload of draft picks, get out of salary cap hell and simply sacrifice a year or two of winning football. Having said that I may be wrong and its simply the schemes and coaching as the OP has proposed. Who knows - oh well at least the Sabres seem to be on their way back up.

while I am not normally a fan of tearing things completely down I hope they think about a two year (maybe three year) revitilization to this team. With the exception of Allen, Shakir , Cook, Elam, Taron Johnson, Knox, Bass and Milano (maybe Rouseau but not really impressed by his game), everyone of the players on this team should be expendendable. Not everyone will go and I know its not feasible to get rid of more than maybe six to eight players but except for those I listed above I don't think the team going forward in two years will be any worse off if they loose anyone else on this current roster. I think they should try to get out of cap hell by trading as many players and aging vets as they can inlcuding Poyer, Hyde, Von Miller, T White - not sure with their salaries anyone will take them but maybe Beane can work some salary retention magic. Then in this years draft they need to load up on O line men and wide receivers because they typically take longer to develop, Allen needs to stay in one piece and the Bills should be eyeing 2025 or 2026 for a SB run. Of course they'll draft some D players but if the choice at their draft spot is O or D being comparable take the O guy. Finally the coaching needs to change but given how the org works it will take a lot of persuading to get rid of McD, Dorsey or Fraiser. I wish they coudl strike magic with coordinators like Cinci has.

The Cinci coaches are just a level above the Bill's coaches....except at receiver the talent on both teams is about equal

Yes the Bills did their best to relentlessly torture the fans by extending that game...kind of a symbolic gesture toward the 2000 through 2018 seasons

on that play where there was a great block on Milano instead of going around the blocker and Milano he goes and hits the blocker freeing the Miamai guy for an extra 10 yard gain and 1st down. He also wiffed on a tackle (I think it was hat 3rd and 18 or so where the Miami back took a screen pass for a 1st down near the goal line). Yes he can cover a lot of ground but darn he is inconsistent as hell. The Bills should sign him if they get a $$ at about the 10-15 best LBs in the league range, otehrwise they should pass.
