Wonderlic test scores of 2018 NFL Draft QBs leaked
Punt75 replied to Mopreme's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The great Jim Kelly was truly a 15! He played as a 15 in all the Super Bowls and every opposing coach took advantage of it. A great, strong arm. BUT - with an extremely talented team all around him! Frank Reich could come in and be the field general and win games with smarts with that group. Levy let Jim do his thing and BOTH couldn't win the BIG GAME. SAD BUT TRUE!!! -
Wonderlic test scores of 2018 NFL Draft QBs leaked

Jim Kelly played like a "15" in all the Super Bowls!!! He was not a SMART QB. Great arm with a great team around him. When called upon Frank Reich was a field general with the same team. -
I agree! Poor Hughes got held 50% of the plays he rushed the passer. It was an embarrassment to the NFL. Next year the Bills will get more respect and so will Hughes. I think Shaq is a bust - big time. IF they can any kind of pick for him - - do it!

Take the LB!!! Has anyone watched the full tape of Jackson at the combine??? We'll be back to an EJ, Jones or Tyrod game plan.

Eric Wood's Contract Status: Explained
Punt75 replied to KevinMassare's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Eric just sold his very modest house in Hamburg NY for $300,000. Even in the Buffalo area that is cheap! Eric, from personal knowledge, is always the last guy to pick up a bar tab. He is fine with his charity and his charity work! All highly paid players have a charity which is a wonderful tax write-off. It's good for both sides. I would bet Eric won't walk away from a dime! I don't think originally saying "I am retiring" was approved by his agent!!! -
EJ Gaines Signs with the Browns for 1 Year at $4M

We could have signed him foe that price - - -but why? -
In-Depth Breakdown of Lamar Jackson by Eliot Crist
Punt75 replied to DCOrange's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I watched all his throws at the combine and he was shaky at best. He didn't match up to the other top 4 in terms of quick release and arm strength. If we take him at #22 he's just an EJ or Jones project! -
I was thinking the same thing! IF another team that drafts later than 22 wants one of them badly than get a couple of more 2's!
-
so agree! This staff did miracles with the same situation last year and I think we're better going into '18!!! He's back here in Bflo just waiting - - -
-
I keep reading about all the "HOLES" the Bills have to fill in '18 to be play-off contenders again and trading away 3,4 or 5 good draft picks for a top college prospect QB would be insane. I believe the HC & GM wouldn't do this unless they knew they had a young QB who could dominate on the field right away - now! If they believe that (and I trust their football knowledge) then go for it. AND - - what Major Holes on the team are we talking about?? This coaching staff took a bunch of 2nd line players and won 9 games. Something worked with their COACHING & SCHEMES and not with the players overall skill sets? Ryan Davis & Eddie Yarbrough were better than #1 pick Shaq Lawson! Both are back this season Kevin Benjamin, Deonte Thompson, Zay Jones, Brandon Reilly, Charles Clay, Nick O'Leary & Logan Thomas are all back this season! All the DB's are back with Vontae Davis replacing the oft injured EJ Gaines with the erratic Shareece gone! An upgrade overall McCoy comes back with Chris Ivory a MAJOR upgrade over Mike Tolbert. Remember Travaris Cadet & Taiwan Jones? Both back also! The D-Line added Starlite Lotulelei who's a big improvement stopping the run over Adolphus Washington. Trent Murphy is better than Shaq Lawson and will help Jerry Hughes with the pass rush! SO - we need a couple of LB's (Middle LB especially) and an OT! IF we go for the big trade up in the draft and get that dominating QB maybe our 2 third round picks would do the job? I trust this GM &HC - - - we'll have a better team in 2018!!

He's just a kid - a minority kid - in the big messed up world of money and fame - - I wish him the best in figuring it all out! -
Why is Derrius Guice showing up at #22 for the Bills?
Punt75 replied to Punt75's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
They asked him something to the effect about his mother being a prostitute - - -in a circular way! That's what he said! -

Why is Derrius Guice showing up at #22 for the Bills?
Punt75 replied to Punt75's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Isn't he the player that complained because he was asked if he "liked men" at the combine??? Very strange question! These guys are just college kids and expected to be verbally proficient in an interview for a $mil+ job!!! -
On two updated National NFL 'mock draft' sites (which mean very little of course) the name Derrius Guise appears as the Bills #22 pick. He's a 5'11", 215# RB from LSU. He had a great 2016 season but was held back by injuries last year. Apparently he's a very hard, tough runner with 4.49 speed. He's compared on sites to Ray Rice or Marshawn Lynch. They state he runs with "anger"! I just find it odd that he's seen as a pick for the Bills in the 1st Round? He's projected to be a late 1st or early 2nd round selection. Does somebody know something about our RB situation? We certainly need a WR, Tackle, Center, LB and more instead of a running back! Maybe McCoy back to the Eagles as part of a package of players for Nick Foles? Any ideas???????

Why not give McCarron an honest chance?

This Management is too smart to throw away 6 picks within the top 100 players for an unknown quality kid QB. None of them stand out like a sure deal. Good Post! -
St. Patricks Day Bills Salary Cap Status
Punt75 replied to Punt75's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm talking top 51 on the roster!! The others are garbage write-offs. -
As of this lovely day in March the Bills have $22 mil available to spend on Free Agents this season. The ONLY player on the roster who could save the Bills $ through a trade or release is Jerry Hughes at $4 mil if he leaves the team. Personally, I think Jerry with his hustle is worth that money! I know Shaq is becoming a 'bust' candidate but releasing or trading him amounts to a $6mil Dead Cap hit. Apparently nothing has been resolved with Eric Wood's retirement. He's still on the books for over $8mil?? He can't play anymore due to his injury but he won't retire?
-
I'm saying - - why trade up today for a possible Mitch Trobisky for the Bears, Deshawn Watkins for the Texans or DeShone Kizer for the Browns when MANAGEMENT has confidence in bringing in 6 SOLID players to build a long-term competitive team??? The kids on here want a splash - -right???
-
Everybody seems to be caught up in the DRAMA of trading up in the draft. Do you really think our level headed GM & HC will do that??? It’s a crazy thought – crazy! We have 2 #1’s, 2#2’s, 2#3’s - - that’s 6 players in the top 100 picks. The TEAM needs WR’s, OL’s, LB’s, another DL. Take the best QB left at #12 or #22 (Mayfield, Jackson or Rudolph) and let McCarron start. Build a solid, competitive team for years to come with these picks! This isn't crazy!

THE ROCKPILE REVIEW - Free Agency Was Over Before It Began
Punt75 replied to Shaw66's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Exactly how I feel about the 'season' so far. You and I are very old vets at this stuff. Technology has changed the old free-agency and draft routine -and - maybe for the better. It seems now if our HC and GM have their eye on a specific player to fill a certain need - - they get him. I don't think Barber, Polian, Butler or the rest could really do that just by using the phone - - the phone! Keep up the great posts for the 'senior fans' !! -
Worst local media commentator on the Bills?
Punt75 replied to VeryWeakPassword's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He's actually one of the highest paid broadcasters in the WNY market. He has a nice $400,000 house at 3621 W. River Rd. in Grand Island with a pool and 4 bedrooms - - pretty nice for Grand Island! I don't know his appeal - - unless - - the Buffalo area sports fans are just so used to losing and being beaten down that they enjoy and expect his behavior!!?? Who else do we have? Murphy is a slug with nothing to say! Joe B is weak and silly! -
SAL CAPACCIO MARCH 13, 2018 - 1:48 PM CATEGORIES: Bills News NFL NFL Draft NFL Free Agency Top Stories The Buffalo Bills have retained all four of their Exclusive Rights Free Agents. According to ESPN, the team has made the required qualifying offers to retain tight ends Nick O’Leary and Logan Thomas, defensive end Eddie Yarbrough, and cornerback Lafayette Pitts. What, exactly does this mean? An Exclusive Rights Free Agent (or ERFA) is any player who has less than three accrued seasons in the league, but whose contract is expiring. The team controls the situation with all of these players. They had no risk of losing any of them unless they chose to and allowed the player to become an unrestricted free agent when the new league year begins Wednesday at 4 p.m. Here’s how it works: The Bills simply needed to submit a contract offer, also known as a “tender,” to that player for the minimum one-year salary for how many accrued years he will have in the league in 2018. According to the report, that's exactly what they’ve done for all four players. The player doesn’t even have to sign that offer. It simply has to be formally submitted to him for the Bills to retain his rights through next season. Then no other team has any available avenues to sign that player to a contract or even an offer sheet.
