Found it on football reference--Josh Reed. He was actually more talented than I remember.
-
Good question. I seem to recall we had a WR who was this type of RB/WR hybrid but can't come up with the name? He wasn't as talented but similar build, not as fast. Could be I'm just old and thinking of someone not on the Bills...

Oh, I thought Micah Hyde found a new home.... 😎

You must have missed the 4 or 5 posts that listed the QBs he played with...

Yes, it's kind of a rolling cap restoration project. Don't make any big splashes this year; establish a competitive starting team; draft WR and DL with your first two picks; stock the PS and some of the backup positions with remaining draft picks; then do a second cap purge next year with Von and...? Their O will be dynamic enough for Josh to take them to a SB. If not this year, they will be back in position to make the necessary moves next year.

Here's a nice piece on him when the Jets picked him up in 2021. https://jetsxfactor.com/2021/02/19/new-york-jets-free-agent-profile-las-vegas-raiders-lb-nicholas-morrow/

Beane's still working it, so wonder if he can get them under the cap by midnight? Axe Wednesday indeed.
-
Yes, I saw that. It's a rough estimate based on the Bills current roster of 48-49 bodies, so most of the picks would count against the top 51 as of now. As I said, that will change significantly by the time they actually sign the draft picks. The cap hit will be significantly less at that time when they have a full roster.
-
They'll draft one too.
-
By the time they sign the picks, the cap hit from the draft will only be about half that amount. For example, the top pick is slotted to make $2.46 mil, but will knock someone off the top 51 list making $900K, so the net addition will be $1.56 million, and the bottom half of the draft picks may not even count for the top 51.

First time this happened, I had a choice between WR Thomas and C Powers-Johnson. I was torn. I know the sexy pick is WR, but I opted to take the anchor up front for the rest of Josh's career.

WR or Dlineman? What would be your main priority..

From what I can tell in my limited look at draft prospects, R2 is pretty loaded at DT talent, so edge/WR get the edge in R1. I don't think there is a safety as good as Donte Whitner in R1..... /sarcasm -
Gunner's 2024 Mock Draft - FINAL v3.0 NOW LIVE (p.13)
TPS replied to GunnerBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
A very skill-position loaded draft in R1. You have: 7 WR 6 OT and CB 5 Edge 4 QB 2 DT 1 G and TE Any chance of your R2 QBs going in R1? -

Reid's Shortcomings & Peyton Manning Didn't Make The SB Until His 9th Season
TPS replied to H2o's topic in The Stadium Wall
@H2o Peyton is the right comparison because he had to deal with beating Brady. However, I also think about Elway winning in his 30s when he finally understood that a good running game would take the pressure off of him--he didn't always need to be superman. Terrel Davis (and a good D) was instrumental in Elway getting his rings. -
According to Wikipedia, "On July 31, 2023, Hamler announced he was diagnosed with pericarditis. Hamler was then waived by the Denver Broncos with a non-football illness designation". It doesn't explain why Indy didn't sign him after the season, but I imagine most teams are very skittish about his injury history and the heart inflammation issue.

he has had some great lines. Cracks me up!

I’m more worried about their D than O.

On Shakir’s TD, some Pitt DL jumped on Diggs’ back and tackled him. It looked like a flagrant attempt by someone who knew he had an injury.

Don’t underestimate a team that can run the ball. Tough game that Bills eek out at home: 24 -21
