Tyrod reportedly looking at real estate in BUFFALO
cd1 replied to youngjebrey's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I am someone who is hoping that TT is the Bills QB in 2017. With that said, I think that TT moving from his apt just makes him very MOBILE. Now he is ready to run, if the situation calls for it. (so to speak) -
I was frustrated with TTs play last season BUT can't help but feel that those frustrations were better directed to the coaching rather than the player. For instance, TT not throwing the ball away to avoid a sack. I said many times last seson, "How on earth does a QB get to the NFL and not know to throw the ball out of bounds to avoid a sack? Somehow, it is easier to believe that "tho MUST NOT turn over the ball" was the FIRST COMMANDMENT. Also, regarding coaching, gadget plays and trickery seem to be plays called by coaches that don't have confidence in their team. "I don't think we can punch this ball over the goal line, so maybe we can give the ball to the player who would be least expected to get the ball in this circumstance". How much of TTs play simply reflected an insecure coaching staff? I think that same kind of insecurity cause ATL to lose the SB - IMHO. I am VERY curious what a new coaching staff can do with TT and I hope to see what Team McD can do.
-
Because, GOD KNOWS, the Bills needed MORE coaches last year. Thats it! We did not have enough coaches...
-
from the Buffalo New Link mentioned above... "The Buffalo News contacted the Bills for a response, and the team issued the following statement from a spokesman: "Steve Christie is a valuable member of our alumni community and we appreciate all that he has done for this organization. He is the Bills' all-time leading scorer and the top field-goal kicker in team history. We appreciated his offer to assist Dan and that was communicated to him. But we all just felt it was in the best interests to have Dan continue his working relationship with the coaches."

Carpenter was not the complete package anyway. He was only good at extra points and field goals. The Bills had to carry aan extra kicker on the team for kick offs. MAYBE that situation was justified when Carpenter was "GOLD", but that product has tarnished and they can save $$$$$ by finding ONE guy to get the job done. Why on earth would you want to prolong this dog and pony show? There is enough real reasons to find fault with Whaley without feigning outrage at ridiculous things.
-
You seem to not define struggling but prefer naming "struggling teams. Win loss has little to do with your definition BUT lack of franchise QB seems to be the defining factor. So Struggling = no franchise QB Therefore teams with no franchise QB must draft QBs. There are those who believe a good/great nfl team requires 11 men on the field per side and they all need to play fairly to WIN. Then there are those who believe it takes only one guy, the others are not so important. I think it takes a team.

Ha Ha, I do like the way you think. Bass Pro first THEN def the Peace Bridge! -
You are just changing the subject. I made a statement that struggling teams have HOLES to fill and therefore none of their picks are LUXURY picks. Winning teams have weaknesses not neccesarily holes so they have Luxury (no glaring needs). You stated that "stuggling teams NEED to pick QBs". Well, do all struggling teams NEED to pick QBs? Afterall, if a team has their franchise guy, ALL of their problems are SOLVED. Perhaps your statement was not entirely correct. Perhaps teams who are struggling NEED to plug HOLES even if the have Their GUY.
-
I replied to your statement that "Struggling teams NEED to draft QBs. Saints were 7-9 WITH Drew Brees. Do they NEED to draft a QB?
-
Go sell that to the Saints.
-
Just prior to the final Jets game, Cardale himself said that he "was NOT ready to play". For crying out loud, if a player does not have confidence in himself, why is it that so many of you want to tie your dreams to this kid?
-
How many other teams passed on those players? When you are a struggling team, you do not neccesarily have the LUXURY to throw away draft picks on QBs every year. The Patriots have mostly have weaknesses to improve on. The BILLS have HOLES to fill. That makes a BIG difference on how you spend the few picks you have.

official Buffalo Bills message board shut down

One did make it here and was banned the very first day. Personally, I think that is the only way TBD is going to keep this under control. ZERO TOLERANCE -

Just who do you think you are, speaking so rational?? Blah, blah, blah - you are missing the point. We can SAVE MONEY!! :sarcasm: -
It may not be "the point" but it will more than likely be the REALITY. Hey, it actually may be a better way to watch the Bills. Afterall, you already content at all the money saved so you don't have to be throwing things at the TV when your guys scew up. I guess there is something soothing about watching a game with your expectations already met. (saved a ton of money) I think it is a fine dance - trying to build a strong team. Many of the best players want to win NOW. They are not willing to sacrafice their carreers waiting around for some team to slowly collect all the right players. The Bills have had more than their share of GOOD/GREAT players who could not get out fast enough. Then you start again... For Crying out loud Jim Kelly tried everything to avoid coming to the Bills. Some of us just can't seem to lose that crazy notion that we want our team to actually WIN.
-
Well, one thing is, if we dump TT and go with X (the bargin guy), Cardale, and a Rookie, most everyone (in this thread anyways) will just sit back and enjoy next season secure in the notion that "hey, at least we saved a ton of money". You know THAT is why I watch football!
-
That would be the nature of GOOD teams. They have the LUXURY of trying to improve on weaknesses while all the other teams are desparately trying to PLUG HOLES. If there is a chasm in football it is THAT which must be traversed before you are playing with the BIG BOYS.

Orrrrrrrr....... Maybe DW, TPegs, SM all WANT TT but why not try to get TT to restructure his contract before you sign him? Each side (TT vs OBD) waiting to see who blinks first. -

If McDermott commits to Taylor now, he likely see this as the best way to win now AND pave the way for the future. Even if the Bills keep TT, they must pick up another QB for back up. If they draft one of the top guys in this draft, he can work behind TT. If the guy IS the real deal, trade TT. -

So, if we let TT go, we don't have to pay any money toward a QB in 2017? -
Maybe the guy did not want to work in a Hospital anymore - $$$$$$$

I too think that this "considering all of our options" is an answer you give when you have no answer. If Coach McD would like TT and the Bills would like TT, why the hell not do EVERYTHING possible to get the TT camp to restructure? The Bills camp may indeed WANT TT but do not want to tip their hand in the negotiations. If each side is waiting to see "who blinks first" of course this will likely go down to the deadline.
