The only considerable problem I see is the ref. And that was such a stupid ticky tack penalty to call at such an important time in the game. Not sure it even was a penalty.

The US shot down a 4th unknown aerial vehicle over Lake Huron yesterday... We're being invaded.

It was worth votes if other guys (see Dan Campbell) who didn't even make the playoffs in a weak division got votes. The Bills played 6 playoff teams that year including the SB-bound Patriots twice and the 9-7 Chargers who barely missed the postseason (because of the Bills).

What's been the general opinion of the Lions? They last made the playoffs in 2016 and haven't won a playoff game in like 30 years. Yet Dan Campbell got a first place vote for COTY.... Very odd to me.

He sounds like one of us when he says he re-watched it 5 times and just can't explain it. That's exactly how I felt. The lack of game planning and intensity from the coaches/players was just so weird. -
Regardless, it's a similar start for Daboll's coaching tenure and he rightfully received recognition. Even Dan Campbell got a first place vote and he didn't even make the playoffs. You wanna know how many votes McD got in his first year?.... A big fat ZERO

Geno Smith definitely counts as a player who elevated his game massively. He seemed like the obvious choice.

I think it's time to move on. Frazier even said before the playoffs that they're not going to change anything and will do what got them there. I think it's a philosophical flaw. In the playoffs, in order to get to the Super Bowl, you have to have that ace up your sleeve. I assume he's on very thin ice in 2023. -
How do coaches who didn't even make the playoffs get first place votes.... That's a little suspicious.

I assume it does. I vaguely remember a similar story for one of the Patriots super bowls and people saying it was because everyone was tired of seeing the Pats in the big game. It's not really a story.

Yeah, McD kinda did the same thing in his first year. Brought a crappy roster to the playoffs with Tyrod Taylor at QB and broke a 17 year playoff drought. But it's Buffalo and not NYC.
