  1. Narrator: Years later they all realised that Rochester would've been the perfect place to build a dome downtown and Kiva was right all along. (Black Balloon by Goo Goo Dolls plays and scene fades to black) (Credits roll)
  2. Yes, of course. But those didn't make the Village People more universally known than the actual great bands of that era. GGD would never surpass Soundgarden, except in Buffalo.
  3. What a terrible decade As I've gotten older I've come to appreciate more late 80s stuff, but it's by far the decade with the least representation on my Spotify playlist.
  4. Cheryl from According to Jim I used to dream of threesomes with these two. Definitely these two, to go along with Cheryl. Having trouble coming up with a 4th
  5. This thread should be renamed "The Thread for Closet Goo Goo Dolls Fans to Briefly Come Out of Hiding" Come on in. We're all friends here. It's okay. Just get it out of your system.
  6. Different cultures and priorities for sure. But San Diego Chargers stadium was also in a suburb out east of Mission Valley... And as we all know, they weren't willing to pay to keep the Chargers anyway
  7. I always liked the chick from the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. Could hit all the notes and make sexy sounds.
  8. Odds are that one of those kids turns out to be a serial killer. Them's just the numbers.
  9. You get to keep the Bills. Or you can spend nothing and they move. So, technically you're not mad the stadium is in Orchard Park, you're just mad Buffalo isn't a bigger city. That sums up all the domer/down-towners to me. Just a bunch of wishful thinking that Buffalo was somehow comparable to these other cities. The fact is that these teams are still building out in the suburbs because building their stadiums downtown wasn't feasible. Just like it isn't for Buffalo.
  10. "Urban residential neighborhood" is different than suburb?Just look at a map and images of the area. Anyway, that's two thirds of the league. Not 5 teams, like @mragsand probably some other people assume.
  11. Still going because I got curious. Levi Stadium is in North San Jose, not even in San Francisco... Chicago is planning to build there's in the suburbs Arrowhead is outside of the East Side suburbs. Definitely not downtown. Houston is definitely not downtown, but relatively short jaunt down the highway, so that seems nice.... The Chargers in San Diego and Raiders in Oakland were out in the suburbs until they moved to huge cities. But let's not forget that the Chargers don't even have they're own stadium now.
  12. This is a prime example of a false perspective that maybe a lot of people share, which leads to unrealistic expectations. Start in the east and you have 5 teams right off the bat: Patriots, Giants/Jets, Washington, Bills 5 stadiums all in the suburbs and that's not even looking at the rest of the NFL. Off the top of my head I know Arizona and GB (obviously) are in suburbs. Isn't Cowboys stadium in Arlington? That's 8.... Should we keep going?
  13. It doesn't matter. Time is relative. This is also scary.
  14. Based on what? This doesn't seem factual. How is Buffalo "more spread out than most cities"?
  15. It always amazes me the way the NFL tries to explain it like it's such a nuanced process. They think we're stupid. I love having these other leagues because they're able to confirm what we already know.
  16. What exactly here is unique to Buffalo? You don't think other stadiums have fans traveling from all over? Do you have specific numbers to compare? They did do a study specific to Buffalo prior to deciding where the stadium should go. You think if the study showed the economic benefit and ROI was great, that the Pegulas still wouldn't want a more expensive domed palace downtown? On the contrary, I'm sure they would absolutely love to build that if it was actually a smart move. It may change a little, but I doubt it's drastically going to change. Regardless what the upfront price is, I imagine people are still going to be able to get resale tickets reasonably cheap.
  17. XFL knows how to handle the delay of game call. In the DC/ StL game, DC hiked the ball just after the clock hit zero and they still threw the flag. So easy. So simple. Just goes to show the NFL's handling of the rule is BS.
  18. Pray that's the case. I wish you a painless, noble death.
  19. The mechanism driving our sun is much more scary than what's in our ocean and no, we don't know exactly how it works/when it'll die/when it will shoot dangerous levels of radiation at us. It's extremely difficult to study that.
  20. You know how difficult it is to study whats underneath the ice on the moon's of Jupiter? It's a dramatic generalisation probably to try to entice people to care more about our oceans, which is not to say it's a foolish mission
