The most profitable rivalries for the league are the big games between great teams, like Bills vs Chiefs or Pats vs Colts back in the day, or 49ers vs Cowboys before that. No one cares or watches the likes of Pats vs Jets or Panthers vs Falcons... Scheduling big games between great teams is not hard now, but with only conferences it would be even easier and more often, as well as ensuring the teams are ceded correctly per their record.

With only conferences, you'd have great teams facing each other every year. You'd have average teams facing each other every year. Bad teams facing each other every year. You'd have rivalries popping up everywhere along with more parity amongst the conference. The league could easily still pit teams against each other. They could base some of the schedule on geography for travel reasons and create yearly rivalries that way. Lamenting the extinction of divisional games would be pointless when rivalries continue to pop up anyway.

As if there won't still be rivalries.... In fact, some of, if not the best rivalries have been outside divisions between great teams who constantly competed in prime time games or playoffs. Four-team divisions are dumb. If not just conferences, maybe just 2 divisions per conference. The NFL is too stuck in its traditions sometimes.

Tua is not great. He can't elevate his team. He has to rely on his team to elevate him. In crunch time, when great competition is stepping up to win big games, Tua's teammates are naturally gonna struggle and Tua is not capable of making up for it like a truly great QB can.

He's the best every year. No other QB is on his level besides arguably Mahomes. There's certainly no other QB I'd rather watch more.

Yeah, let's not celebrate anything unless it's some trophy we had no part in achieving as fans. As for me, I'll relax and enjoy the entertainment of watching the best QB in history.

It's not, but Shanahan and McDaniel are the first ones to make it look easy. They shouldn't waste their money on Tua....or Purdy for that matter.

Obviously they don't have to re-sign him. The beauty of that offensive system is that it's not reliant on a great QB. Draft another QB and sign more great skill players.

Yes, he's accounted for more total yards than Purdy and he's a much better QB. Allen and Hurts have accounted for way more TDs than Purdy and they're much better QBs. Lamar Jackson carries that Ravens offense running and passing and has more total yards than Purdy. He's a much better QB. The likes of Tua and Purdy can go play the Pro Bowl games as their reward. They're not All Pro calibre.

Meh, put him in the Pro Bowl. Like you said, a lot of other QBs are having off years, yet they're still producing more yards and/or TDs than Purdy. He's just in a great system that makes QBs look far better than they really are. The two guys at the top of pass yards, Completion %, and yds/attempt are.......Tua and Purdy. Both in the same system, and both just average players, not All Pro quality.

I watch all the games. Purdy's nothing special. Throws to a ton of wide open guys. Stroud I can agree is an All Pro calibre player if healthy. If Purdy is All Pro, go ahead and make Tua, Goff, Dak, etc All Pros....just a bunch of meh

It's too reliant on stats. Purdy has great stats. That doesn't make him an All Pro calibre player in my mind, but I understand why it gets him the votes.

Purdy is indefensible. He's an average QB. All Pro team should be superstars. Purdy can be in the Pro Bowl.

I agree with the sentiment, but they've afforded it the last two weeks... He's a well known Miami fan, not a Bills fan. People really need to put him on ignore.
