Just read that. Van Pelt just wants whoever Mayfield works with to be in tune with Van Pelt's own techniques. But it's a non-issue since Mayfield isn't working with anyone, anyway. It seems like totally the wrong approach. The QB should get all that work done away from team practice. Then team practice is all about executing the offense, not so much about mechanics. Maybe since Van Pelt is new to the Browns, he doesn't trust that Mayfield can apply someone else's teachings to the Browns' specific offense.

Well, NFL teams all have individual owners who want to handle their teams differently. Reports of the drama are going to come out later, anyway. XFL teams are all owned by the same guy. No reason to hide this drama. This lets fans see what's going on in real time, not needing to rely on post-game reports blaming this-and-that. This is a much better experience and I think Vince McMahon welcomes it.
