Yeah, he's certainly not a Jerry. But I think that kind of statement is just a reflection of his new mindset as one of the veteran leaders.

McKenzie obviously has return talent, but he's just more boom-or-bust than Roberts. Roberts was like the Frank Gore of return men. Always gonna get positive yards and make some big plays, but probably never take it to the house. McKenzie will lose yards sometimes because he'll run in circles. But we saw him take it to the house against Miami last year, I think our only return TD, despite his limited touches. The positive thing is that the Bills offense is now good enough to make up for the worse field position that may result from a McKenzie mistake.

Of course I have...I guess that's the next best thing...

Technically, no... If Knox had come back for the ball, then I think refs would call it. In this case Knox went straight up. I could see it being called either way. Last season Allen and Diggs seemed to have the PI play perfected where if Allen underthrew the deep ball, Diggs could easily draw the PI by coming back through the defender.

It's certainly an overblown media show, too. Like the draft. I bet a lot of college teams do, though I've never heard NFL personnel people mention that.

Coaches/scouts already see the players in pads and how they run routes at college games and on film. The combine is all about gathering data on straight up athleticism. It's an entirely different set of raw metrics. They're trying to combine all different factors to gain a complete picture of the player during the whole scouting process. If the combine was in pads, it would be redundant.

Did Schopp seriously doubt Breida would make the roster? That's a no-brainer to me. The offense was awesome, but it needs to evolve every single season. Breida is a big part of that this year. Personally, I love the idea of the chop block penalty. I remember a few years ago when Eric Wood was still on the team, there was a few games in a row where the linemen would attempt to block DBs low and it wouldn't work. The DBs would just jump over them and make the tackle. It was memorably frustrating for me. I think the linemen will fair well without the chop block.
