  1. They obviously know best as to how the QBs are performing at camp/preseason. I just don’t think they'll throw the rookie in week 1. Based on what we've seen, I think Cam will lose the job before Mac wins the job, if you know what I mean. From the perspective of managing a rookie/vet QB controversy, I do think it's safer to let the incumbent leader play himself out of the role, or else you're risking a prolonged controversy and distraction. It's obviously a tricky situation to navigate, though.
  2. I wouldn't be surprised if he has a bad cocaine habit. Add that to the bold predictions thread... 😉
  3. That first just season seemed like an extension of his college career in regards to the lack of surrounding talent forcing him to play hero ball. But maybe it gave him some initial confidence knowing that he can ball out at the next level and his teammates were behind him. Only Josh knows.
  4. I think they'll let Cam fail in the regular season and then drop in Mac. They seemingly shored up the defense this offseason and will get offensive weapons next offseason.
  5. So many have done the exact same thing (coming back to a camp in a last ditch effort to play). What's different about this that people haven't seen before? Unless you're talking about his whole football career....
  6. And he will let you know he won that playoff game (with 316 yards..and the first TD happened at 3:16 pm...because, you know, John 3:16...and God was using him to preach to the world) until the day he dies 😄 Yep, I can see it. You never really know, though.
  7. None of us really know... a lot of guys with short NFL careers go back to being poor.
  8. Sorry everyone. I take credit for threads like this after making "Chiefs miss the playoffs" one of my predictions in the bold prediction thread.
  9. You called it an "addiction" in a derogatory sense. They should keep Johnson because he's a core guy on ST. They already lost a core guy, the core guy.
  10. I feel like there's an easy solution here.... I'll let you know when I think of it.
  11. I think their "addiction" is more like a moderate hobby. Special Teams was phase 3 of the rebuild and its an important part of the game. They need to maintain a standard there and not revert. They already lost Roberts. Aqib Talib talked about special teams during the Chargers/Rams game after the play-by-play guy commented about not using ST in preseason games. The players know how important it is.
  12. They will keep 7, I think....and run them until they puke. Is that the right analogy? NASCAR?
  13. He will not last there, unless there's some rule affording them PS safety that I'm not aware. A 2nd rounder with no red flags will get snatched up immediately.
  14. I think you have to look at the OL and LB as position groups where they'll keep less than people are expecting. So Smith or Dodsen. Matakevich, like Johnson, also has ST value.
  15. That's false. A dome causes sound waves to rebound and cancel each other out (consider headphones with active noise-cancelation. They produce a sound frequency that matches outside noise in order to cancel it out). Think of an amplifier. It's a cone with an open end. The loudest stadiums (Seattle, KC, Bills) aren't just loud because of rabid fan bases. It's because they're open-air amplifiers that don't cancel out any frequencies coming from within. I'm not an expert by any means, but that's the gist of it. I'm sure you can engineer a roof to minimize noise cancelation, but you're kind of shooting yourself in the foot if maximum decibels are a priority.
  16. Nice write-up. I would get rid of Hart and add Johnson. I think he adds more value to special teams than Hart does anywhere. We're overstating the pressure on the rookie OLs, I think. If injuries (knock on wood) cause Hart or the rookies to be forced in, I don't think there's much difference.
  17. Top 5 D overall, by whatever metric you want to use. Top 10 in sacks. I expect them to bend a bit in the run game and that's fine. It's kind of part of their philosophy. And with Star back, they have some philosophical wiggle room there, if you know what I mean. But I definitely expect them to break the quarterback. I also expect the backend to cash in. I want to see Edmunds post his best INT count. Tre and the safeties too.
  18. The ***** you talking about... Josh would prefer a dome.... get outta here Did you all listen to Beane's interview with Pat McAfee? He said they embrace the cold/wind/snow and want teams to have to travel there for playoff games. These guys know they can win in any conditions and padding their stats in a dome is soooooo far down on their priority list. It's gonna be open-air in OP and that's not short-sighted. This is football. Truth. The multi-use issue is so overblown, too. Plenty of open-air stadiums around the league get used for summer concerts and stuff. The Pegula's happen to own an entertainment group... I think you can expect this thing to be designed with summer concerts in mind. I think you can also expect them to engineer it with th wind in mind, orientation structural features in a way that minimizes the nasty swirl.
