  1. As long as they don't take a cheap shot as he's going to the ground...*cough*Pats*cough* I'd rather he stay upright in the pocket, but I'm sure Allen welcomes the challenge. Sometimes the Bills need a shot of toughness to get them into the game and I'm fine with Allen providing that. Why is it a dumb question? There are plenty of potential answers that make for good writing material to a reporter.
  2. I'm guessing... 1. He's popular and has a cult following from the Fast&Furious movies. 2. He's not a versatile actor by any means, but he's a solid action/thriller guy. 3. He's probably got a good agent. 4. He's probably easy to work with and dependable. This goes a long way vs simply having star power/great acting talent.
  3. I'm sure if I was a Cowboys and Dion fan, it would be funny. Kinda like the Tre White Goalie Academy. I'm sure a lot of Bills/Sabres fans would buy an Academy jersey...lol
  4. Reminds me of when John Brown was released. There were questions about how that was handled and Brown being caught off guard. Overall, the Bills have been good at communicating as far as I can tell. At least when it comes to the front office and personnel departments. Maybe not between office and players.
  5. That is a niche market, for sure.... Is Ed Sheeran doing the national anthem tonight or something?
  6. I think color would be easiest. Same logo, but different color.
  7. I voted the same. Edmunds - he'll benefit from the improved D line. He's kind of in a prove-it year to get a big contract. We could see him lead all LBs in INTs and get his first All-pro nod. Oliver - he could have a great year, but I imagine him still eating a lot of double teams. I don't think he's yet at a level where he'll consistently beat those and be a game wrecker. It's the DEs who will be more noticeable and have a potential breakout year. Davis - I can easily see him being the Bills 2nd leading WR with a 1000+ yard season. Allen has complete trust in him with his improved routing running and superb hands. He'll have good match-ups every week, drawing the defense's 2nd or 3rd CB.
  8. Probably one of the best HOME openers that year too, vs the Raiders.
  9. Honestly, Caesars/FanDuel/DraftKings/MGM/etc can all ***** off. I'm sick of their stupid commercials and besides that, has large scale gambling been good for any sport?
  10. Camp/preseason Everyone who was on the fence got pushed off of it by the Bills' offseaosn performance. Honestly, I don't like it, because the talking heads are wrong more often than not.
  11. That's still more than 3 TD passes per game for a 17 game season. It's such a ridiculous record.
  12. I don't think he could, actually... He's rich, but that only gets you so far. And this "skeezer" is stacked.
  13. I think if you've ever played catch with anybody, you've probably done this... He just kept clapping after both drops...
  14. I envision him picking off Big Ben on Sunday to seal the game.
  15. Being vocal isn't being a leader. Isaiah McKenzie is one of the most vocal and likeable guys on the Bills, but I don't think anyone is questioning why he's not a captain. It's not weird at all. On the other hand, you barely ever hear Edmunds talk unless it's calling the plays on defense. But he's a captain. Again not weird. The QB is supposed to be a leader. You'd hope Tua would already be taking that role after his rookie year and considering he was a two year starter at Alabama.
  16. Are you not concerned about this, though? I'd be concerned if Josh wasn't captain or even run for captain in 2019.
  17. Nah I think it's genetic. Dad should get a DNA test.
  18. He's not Jauron or Marrone or Rex. He actually values an explosive offense. A lot of people just put him in the "defensive-minded coach" box when he first came here. "Why are we hiring a defensive guy when this is an offensive league and all the brightest newcomers are offensive gurus?!" "This guy's quiet and just claps at everything!" Building this offense was always part of the process of growing and continuing to get better as a team and as a coach. McDermott looks around the room and sees Timberlake, Canelo, Theismann, Barkley and he sees 4 different wiring combinations that all worked. Maybe all the wire colors match and my appliance works perfectly from the get-go or maybe all I need to do is switch the blue and red wire in order for it to function the way I want. Maybe he recognizes this player had an ideal upbringing and that'll work. But maybe he sees that this other player overcame an unstable upbringing and that will also work. A question they ask the players at the combine is "would you rather be known as smart or tough?" Neither answer is wrong because both of those wires are needed. But the answer helps them determine if that wire is connected, or is it just dangling. I want to use Ed Oliver as an example. He's super talented, and I think they saw his wiring and recognized they just needed to switch a couple around. In their "Embedded Bills" special, they said they wanted players who took accountability for what happened on each play. The next scene showed Ed Oliver saying no one could block him. The scene after that showed one of the coaches showing Ed some film and basically saying "well, this guy blocked you right here. This is on film" and Ed got a little defensive. It's still to be determined if their re-wiring of Ed has worked.
  19. Yep. I'll add that McDermott recognizes there are different ways to becoming wired that way and there are different wiring combinations that also work. We often hear that McDermott just wants "choir boys" and values culture over talent, but that's not entirely true.
