Yep. The way the AAF and XFL did it was really good. As well as the XFL's replay system. It's so easy to implement that the fact the NFL can't do it raises huge red flags for me.

I know the conspiracy theories are cringe worthy but the amount of stupid, correctable ***** that I've seen over the years has jaded me. The are parties within the NFL who absolutely try to rig the games and they'll fight to keep as much grey area in the rules and procedures as possible. Fool-proof measures (like tracking chips at each end of the ball) would provide way too much clarity. With the NFL embracing the gambling culture, this won't change anytime soon.

If you consider asking for facts and the correct context as "grasping at straws" then we're definitely not on the same page. I was responding to someone who perceived this as a bad thing. This is what I would assume too, without having any facts or context.

Is it a promotional thing he formally agreed to beforehand or is this spur of the moment? Is he drinking? Is he actually mingling with bar patrons or did he just hop on stage for quick shout and then bolt? I'm alluding to the non-obvious assumptions. He's vaccinated, so there's obviously no issue there. You're not giving context, you're giving perception.

I think it all depends. Context is key.

I'm not an expert nor did I know the coverage called, but on the replay it looked like Diggs was supposed to be under and the safety over the receiver. Could've been better positioning by Diggs, but the safety had the receiver on a platter. All he had to do was hit him.

What the heck was the safety doing? Just hit the guy. He literally avoided the receiver.

You just know the network is pissed. Greg Gumbel was outwardly disappointed in the Chargers too. At half time he literally said "this was correctly billed as a great game, just one side isn't holding up its end of the bargain." He's not wrong, but wording it like that just makes me cringe.
