    It absolutely was. The 2 plays before that the 49ers were struggling to get anything. Shanahan, having his finger on the pulse pf his team, chose right. Take the points. Momentum is so important in football and analytics doesn't account for it at all. 49ers are moving the ball and getting points while Dallas has only been able to muster 1 good drive.

    That logic makes no sense. If Dallas can put up points fast, then take all the points you can get. 49ers maintain a 2 score lead.

    Nope. Take the points and keep the momentum. It's an easy kick in a comfortable dome. Cowboys offense is doing nothing. Kick it early. Go for it late. Don't overthink it. Shanahan knows better. Early in the game, take the points and keep the momentum.
