AJ McCarron would still be a backup QB in the NFL if he had the right mindset for it. The fact is that he wants to play, so he's not good backup QB material. With that attitude, I bet he's not very supportive of the starting QB. Not saying it's necessarily the wrong mindset. He should absolutely want to play and find a place to play, but it needs to be in a minor league.

The general rule seems to be that you're gonna pay two star skill players. It doesn't matter that he's a running back if he's producing in the offense. Pay him and Kincaid. Structure it so you'll be able to get out and pay Coleman or another rookie down the line (if he turns out good, obviously). If you don't want to pay a RB simply because he's a RB then you gotta be confident you'll get a player just as good in the draft or accept the fact that you'll be overpaying in free agency.

I'm trying to think of some minor sporting events that would be better to air on a Saturday this time of year. I'm sure you'd love to say that airing reruns of reality TV would be better for the TV networks, but it'd help if you were able to back that up with some kind of profit numbers. What credibility do you have to be speaking for the networks who have chosen to air this programming for a third straight year.

The Bills have a good mix of physicality and finesse in the receiving room now. Kincaid is more physical than people give him credit for and building upon that facet of his game has been part of his pro development plan. He should absolutely be their #1 receiver moving forward.

I think it just means they liked Davis' value in that spot as a backup RB with upside.

We get this type of thread every year. It's not an indicator of anything. Caveat: I paid zero attention to any QB in the draft. Couldn't care less. I like the Bears, though.

It's easy to see the parallels in personnel with that Carolina team, the one big difference being the tight ends. Shakir and Kincaid should thrive in that shallow cross concept. Coleman in Robbie's role and Samuel in Samuel's role. Add in MVS and Cook...you really have a nice corps of receiving weapons. Icing on the cake if Claypool amounts to something.

Agree. And the minor league system now exists, arguably stronger than it's ever been, with the UFL. Expand that league and just pay the kids to be developed by pro coaches.

Did the Texans expect him there? If not, then I don't see this being an issue. What if Diggs was expecting to be in Buffalo and not going to OTAs, so he made other plans? Then got traded to the Texans and let them know of his prior plans?

Yep. Throughout his tenure McDermott has been very selective of who he praises and when. We see it with rookies especially every year. Heading that, to me it indicates that McDermott feels Claypool needs to hear it in some regard. Hopefully it works out.

Who knows, unless you can point to a history of rookie OCs and rookie QBs together to show a trend. Who knows if they even stick with Hackett in this alternate reality.

Kincaid is the closest thing to a number 1 with the way he gets used. They work him around inside and out and he's a potential mismatch anywhere. He should get a ton of targets.
