  1. My thoughts: When talking about pressure in that situation, I say rush 4. I'm fine with rushing 4 DLs while remaining disciplined OR rushing 3 DL and spy/rush a LB (which the Bills did.) As long as you don't blitz Mahomes. History has proven that doesn't work. This brings up the LB's dilemma: Milano has to play that perfectly; the spy and the rush, which I don't think he did at the end of the first half, but he played it perfectly at the end of the game. Next thought: in last season's AFCC the Bengals proved that rushing 3 and adding more DBs works against the Chiefs offense. The Bills did essentially this, but without the DBs. The Bills are able to keep both LBs in because of (at risk of derailing the thread) Tremain Edmunds' coverage skills. I think the 3 DL rushers with the LB spying/rushing is perfect, it just requires that LB to play with conviction (identify where Mahomes is moving to and then go!) I was worried about Milano in that first half because he was hesitating, like he was thinking to much. However, he turned it on in the 2nd half with some instinctual plays. I think we saw that reflected in the results at the end of each half, too.
  2. Analytics. Okay, I get it. I'm sure Barnwell is a smart guy, but I see some flaws immediately and I don't have time to read all that. "One of the arguments against going for it in that situation is that you can give the momentum to the other team by kicking..." This right here seems like a straw man argument to me. You don't transfer momentum away by kicking a FG. If your offense drove down and got 3 points, you still have the momentum or it remains even at least. If you go for it and get stopped, then you may have a momentum swing for the other team's defense. On that point, he also doesn't take into effect the separation between the three phases, offense/defense/ST. This is a mistake people often make. When talking about momentum, you have to separate them. Consider this KC game: that end-of-half drive gave the momentum to the Bills offense. That doesn't always translate to the other phase of the game. KC's offense could still roll. What Josh and the Bills do on offense is not going to affect what Mahomes and the Chiefs offense does. So Barnwell starts his next line of reasoning and analysis on a false premise. Just because the other team's defense makes a stop, doesn't mean their offense suddenly has momentum. It means their defense took the momentum from the other team's offense. Somewhat related, it's like people saying "it's Josh Allen vs Patrick Mahomes!!" when it's really not. It's Josh vs KC's defense alongside Mahomes vs Buffalo's defense.
  3. And it was a turning point for Allen in particular. Set a per guysonal hbest for consecutive completions starting with that drive, if I'm not mistaken. Dude is clutch. I've never heard of someone not believing in momentum in sports. Confidence is actually a part of that. Weird.
  4. 1. Lack of talent (Adams would obviously make a huge difference) 2. LaFleur. I think we have an adequate sample size now showing that this GB coaching staff is good, certainly an upgrade from McCarthy, but it's hindered by their maligned relationship with Rodgers and what seems to be a lack of team-building ability. 3. Age. Each year is going to get tougher for Rodgers.
  5. And he just wiped the Chiefs off the field like they were dingleberries on his butt
  6. Sterilize the game. That's what they're trying to do. 👎 It's like my kids' rec soccer league cancelling soccer games because of light rain. Not thunderstorms... LIGHT RAIN.
  7. The Bills have played great special teams. They stopped KC at the 15 on the previous kickoff if I remember correctly. Would the same tactic not have worked there?
  8. That would be ideal. But I'll take a tie and win in OT for the extra excitement factor.
  9. You have no comeback. It's okay. You'll learn and haven't even reached your ceiling yet. I have faith!
  10. Why are you back?? Bills took the lead after you left last time. Go away!
  11. I guess we need to make excuses for your lack of understanding. It's okay everyone, @TBBillsis still young. Basically a rookie!
  12. So, no call on tripping. And then no call on block in the back.
  13. He was talking about how Mahomes manipulates LBs with his eyes, which he does against EVERY LB, even the ones better than Edmunds. So, no. Try watching more than just Bills games.
  14. Do you understand what zones they're responsible for covering?
